apa fair play? thought we racking up all the yellows etc now?
the easiest way of cos is to get 6th, and wait for man city to win fa cup.
*
No, 6th place won't get Europa league this season.
If Man city win FA cup, then the runner up of the FA cup will take the slot, not 6th place in the league. (unless both finalists are already qualify CL or Europa league, only then Europa league slot goes to 6th place, which is not the case this year).

Coutinho is a good playmaker, who can make defence splitting pass, has good vision of attacking sense.

QUOTE(Yluxion @ Apr 29 2013, 12:55 PM)
Against Newcastle, every players could easily get a 7 from me, except Glen Johnson.

As soon as the game started, our momentum of play already get me to feel that we gonna have a great performance. (just pending whether we can finish off those chances with the absence of Suarez)

I don't know what BR told the players before the game. My oh my, Liverpool is so fired up in this match.

Our midfield triangle of Lucas, Stevie G with Coutinho taking an advanced central role is the most convincing trio to occupy those positions thus far.

While Henderson is so eager to put up a great performance against Newcastle. (I'm sure that is due to him coming from Sunderland biggrin.gif) It justify why Henderson is starting ahead of Joe Allen & Shelvey. Easily doing the most running in this match, though there's still a lack of chemistry between him and Enrique down the left flank.

With the acquisition of Sturridge & Countinho, BR making us attacking teams on the break, quick, direct and precise when we're playing away. Something I've never thought about when he first joined us. As much as he talk about possession football and his "death by football" in the early of the season. Some of our away performances as of late clearly isn't that. IMO, this is a "plan B". A convincing one. smile.gif

PL is about pace, quick counter attack, clinical pass, or aerial power.
Keep the ball (possession) while opponent has time to re-organise then it is hard to break down opponent already.

You can keep 90% of possession, and yet find no way through the opponent defence at all, see last year Barca last year CL final.

But then again, we do have a great medical team with presumably very hot nurses biggrin.gif. We keep hearing that Borini will be out till next season, but there he was scoring a goal...so i guess kudos to the medical staff!!

Agger also is injury free/less this season, so does Gerrard.

so if this happens, its for real...bye suarez...

huh?
Allen cost 1x million, A William transfer was being rumoured 1x million also previously.
Now Michu being rumoured 30 mil?

50 million+ tranfer fee paid to buy Swansea's player? blink.gif

Can 50 million buy the club entirely?
I means buy the club instead players? icon_idea.gif
Own the club, then all the players are yours? tongue.gif

we should just re-sign mascherano since hes now barca's central defender tongue.gif
*
Are you sure a good idea?
Yes, he is very good as DM, but central defender?

If facing striker like Crouch in corner/set piece or aerial bombardment time, how?

You know PL, a lot of teams like to play this kind of aerial strength one.

So, I think the changes present opportunities for Liverpool and Spurs. I hope we make full use of that.

It depends on the manager.
So far, in general, Liv has poor result (seldom win) against the top half of the table team.
So jury still out there.

Yes, general play is good, possession is superb (you don't win match by having 99% possession), but when come to clinical part, need to win 1-0 time, a lot of time, stumbled (as against good and top team, it is crucial to have ability to win 1-0, as you don't expect to win 3-0, 5-2, against good team)
See this year, Liv scored plenty of goals, can win big against weak team (that contributed good goal scoring record) but when against top team, poor result.
Defence is still a weak link.

1. win 5-0, lose 0-1, 3 points
2. win 1-0, draw 0-0, 4 points
3. win 1-0, win 1-0, 6 points.

So 5-0 is at same as 1-0 in the point tally (except for better goal difference that only matter when same point tally with other).

Also, it depends on manager new recruitment instinct and tactic.
Only if can constantly add in player like Couthinho (at a bargain), who can contribute to the team a lot (goal assist), then probably has a good chance for top 4, if added in mediocre type of player, midtable team player only, then next year may be stuck at midtable as well.

Wasn't there some rule which made it impossible for Premier League clubs to buy foreign players from countries that rank low in world football? It's why we will never see a Malaysian turn out for a Premiership side any time soon. Armenia are currently ranked 90th.

Ah found it.
I don't think Armenia have averaged 70th in the past 2 years so I'm interested to see how this will work out.

If not mistaken, it is about permit given to work as footballer in UK, correct me if I am wrong, not about PL can or can't.

Btw, still can, not entirely impossible.
QUOTE
If a player does not meet those criteria, the club wishing to sign him may appeal if they believe that he is a special talent and "able to contribute significantly to the development of the game at the top level in the UK.

A very young Steven Gerrard gets beaten again and again by a matured David Ginola. tongue.gif

Jokes aside. I cant see any young chaps in the squad with Gerrard's vision and long range ability. Well, hopefully they will allow Hendo to develop on this as I really like players like Andrea Pirlo, Wesley Sneijder and our Xabi Alonso (SG of course as well) who can do a long range passing and can score from far.

These are the types of players that can change a game as with Alonso when he was with us. I saw it with my own eyes how he made a 60 metre lob to Torres's feet in Singapore in 2009 (Before he leaves us for good).

That level of accuracy, is just purely wonderful. I was awestruck.

I tried on the field after that and I couldn't even do a 30m pass accurately. LOL biggrin.gif

Cannot everytimes expect young breed of Gerrard.
It is once a blue moon to have youngster to mature and become like Gerrard.
Can play as holding midfield, got long range shot capabilities, can score, can play as second striker, strong determination, singlely carry the team etc.
To high expectation sometimes can kill the development of youngster as well.
Cannot be everytime, a academy young player manage to be in the first team, then expect to be a next Gerrard or replacing Gerrard already.

30 M pass? blink.gif
or you mean 3M tongue.gif biggrin.gif
