QUOTE(rads78 @ Jun 3 2013, 02:43 PM) We prefer morning at Putrajaya and since that we are not familiar with the roads there (dunno where to cycle to), thus why we prefer to join a group which we can follow. maybe u have better luck finding a group for genting sempah sunday morningsOur first session was yesterday morning where we meet at 8:30 at Botanical garden and start cycling by 9:00 to the Maritime Center and back. |

it is better to use dedicated bike computers as it provides faster and more accurate readings...most android or iphone GPS based speedo have lower polling rates than say a garmin edge..so, it is just not as quick to respond especially when you change direction...
furthermore, having to mount your smart phone to your handlebar and stem is a very challenging task where you have to buy the specific phone mounts and things like that... and reputable mounts will easily cost as much as the basic wired bike computers... |

QUOTE(Seng_Kiat @ Jun 4 2013, 12:57 AM) guys, i don't think of wireless as a function... in fact, i don't get how i can justify paying more just for making a computer wireless as it gives no advantages at all and i actually have to be maintaining additional batteries...is it better to buy wired or wireless cycle computer? seems the price of wireless is about triple than wired.. I just got a road bike today but don't have disc break .. can I add it later? that being said, if you want to go wireless... you might as well spend more on getting computers with more sensors... cadence to start with at least... if you can go the next level, get the HRM straps as well since you are already paying the additional on the wireless computers... else, just stick on normal speed/time/distance wired computers until you can decide what to do with the better units... as for disc on roadies... i don't think it is neeeded.. you don't go off road and you don't need your braking surface to be away from the ground.. so, disc is pretty un-needed as of now and what is worst is that current disc systems are actually heavier than conventional calipers... QUOTE(yolk @ Jun 4 2013, 06:56 AM) can't get used to the idea of the top of my head being under a cap (hot) maybe the cycling caps are more breathable/thinner ? the cycling caps are thinner than conventional caps you buy from nike or the normal brands.. and there is elastic bands to keep it on the head and preventing it to fly off in the event you look up and the flaps catches the head on wind...![]() it is also easy to bring out and put it on if there is cold winds and fold it up and keep it in your jersey pocket if it gets too hot...tats what i think of them caps... |
