apart from scott OEM bar, i've used 3 different brands/models.

1. ritchey wcs logic II
its drop and reach quite big to my liking. but the top is quite comfy.

2. deda newton
not as comfy as the ritchey. a bit painful when riding on rough road. maybe the diameter was smaller than the ritchey, maybe it was stiffer.

3. PRO plt compact
very compact. suits my geo. but still not as comfy as the ritchey but not as bad as deda.
*
i like the ritchey's too.. but haven't try them yet... still trying to hunt down a easton handlebar no longer in production..

i had the pro plt compact as well.. the grey ones right? the shape more or less feels the same as the deda RHM2 i have now but i think the shimano is a wee bit more shallow...

the last one to try is the cinelli... they made a version where the top sweeps back into the rider... if you want a closer feel when you ride in the saddle while climbing... i think that is a good bar... but only made them in anatomic shape and quite deep if i remember correctly...

BH, if u had to choose between steel vs ti, which one would u go with?
*
of course Ti lar... i am still a boyish racer at heart (at times)...

i have no preference for arty farty thin tube steel frames...

if there's a ritchey bar with short reach, i'd get it.
RHM 75 reach 128 drop. and the transition from top to the drop starts early. so with deda u get less straight length at the top

http://www.pro-bikegear.com/publish/conten...ode-PRHAPL.html
ritchey got something similar. evocurve
*
evo curve is a swept back bar if i am not wrong... there is a ritchey logic that has a very shallow drop... i think even hianboy's one is quite shallow... from feel la

else, have to hunt for fsa but GH is no longer distributing it...

QUOTE(Mac Wai @ May 30 2013, 01:23 PM)
2) my ultegra front derailleur cage chain rubs when I am on the following front / rear gearing 53-25;23 and 39-11;12T (hate the rubbing sound and wears out the chain if prolong used), as a result, I have been avoiding those specific gear ratio.

Is it possible to solve the issue with the SRAM Red Fd with yaw by swapping it out?
.... or do I have a better alternative?
*
you are not supposed to cross chain lar.. cross chain is not good for chain health...

it's a waste of money to solve such problem lar... it isn't a problem in the first place since you are not recommended to be doing that...

only the new Di2, Red and Force 22 actually tell you that you can cross chain... hence the term real 22 gears...

QUOTE(miaopurr @ May 30 2013, 01:30 PM)
no mood for now. it comes and goes.

like period...you better watch out for the next 28th day...

but hates campy thumb shifting
cyclist n+1 problem
*
tat means you will hate sora too...there is good and bad lar i think thumb shifter...depends on whether you like it or not...

QUOTE(miaopurr @ May 30 2013, 01:43 PM)
bila mau pasang? kasi tunjuk gambar la.
*
and attract vin_ann's attention? what is your motive?

QUOTE(lilredridinghood @ May 30 2013, 01:45 PM)
Same issue as well with my Tiagra, i just avoid doing the big-big, small-small combination. Hear that it's really bad
*
cross chain is no good... no good...how many times have to re-iterate... it is not recommended... like putting your manhood in your pet's love holes... it's doable.. but not recommended...just stick to tenga or find a wiling opposite sex partner... OK???

not even DA9000?
what are the pro n con of thumb shifting?
just want to see the new bike. that's all. spread the joy
this is serious WTF
*
yes.. not even DA9000... the only dura ace that can cross chain is the Di2 because it has auto trim function where the FD moves as you shift the rear cogs...in fact, technically it is also the ultegra Di2...

thumb shifter is for the hood operators lar... if you don't reach for the drops... the thumb shifters or elephant ears as they are called on campy is a very easy to use thing.... it is just sometimes it gets in the way...

spread the vin_ann challenge too right??

i am serious too... if i don't come out with extreme analogies.. they dun understand ma... apples and oranges no longer work for them apparently..

Thanks, didn't know about that .... consider the problem solved.

Must remember never to cross chain, plain simple!
we learn along the way.. like using tengas instead of tenga thanks to miao's great suggestion... that pus-sy's love for fish also bring me some great ideas

QUOTE(miaopurr @ May 30 2013, 03:04 PM)
somebody told me campy's setting very sensitive. lari sikit je, shifting not smooth. maybe because they cramp in 11s into 10s cassette width. so tolerance for error is very slim. maybe?

why give yourself false hopes???u collect for a full price frame lar.. if sales come up.. then you untung mar... i tell u this x amount and by the time sales come and it is not that amount, then how??? wat is worst is you are way off the amount and even thought sales also no use.. got not enough money to buy...

time to go metal

and i love this guy's opinion the most, on the subject of comparison between different materials
sounds like something BH would say

more of a noob enquiry, but how does a carraro 915 or 916 d'ambiez fit into a beginner, whom have not ride on a bike for more than 15 years with a tight budget?  sweat.gif
*
hard to digest ur question...wat is it about? fit your budget or fit you physically? latter we can't answer... best if you hop on one to try the fitting...

what is the amount you have to spend and what you intend to do with the bike?
