ANY multi card reader will do; you just have to look out for the SmartMedia slot. Notice that the SmartMedia slot is not one straight rectangle; it has an indentation that lets you insert an xD card!
![]() Note that the xD card goes in with the circuitry UPWARDS (when SD/MMC and Memory Stick circuitry faces DOWNWARDS.) I've put xD cards in this, and they haven't been spoiled because of it. |

thnx albnok
i heard from many forummers (dpreview) that they have problems using xD on card reader. anyway, i took the plunge last nite & bought a RM28 multi-card reader after the salesman said i can return it if it couldn't read my xD card. there is not even a brand name on the reader. it reads my card without problem. problem solved btw, fuji says the usb cable costs me RM70 & hv to go to their HQ in PJ on weekdays to get it. looks like i don't hv to buy it after all... |

Am a noob in photography... I am looking at getting the 6500fd, but where value is concerned, how does it match up with 9600. Hehehe.. the reason why I am not looking at Canon is because I have too many XD card and it will be a waste to change system.

Yes, the S6500fd is very much worth it. Higher sensitivity (ISO3200, but since it has lower resolution the noise reduction would be better) and less buttons (but still maintaining functionality.) The main thing missing from the S6500fd is the flash hotshoe, which the S9600 has.

Yeah.. I know the hotshoe is missing... sigh... but some reviews did state that the noise level is evident at ISO400 and ISO3200 is just a marketing gimmick. The noise level may be too high for the picture to have any quality.
The other thing I thought it was worth it that 6500fd has RAW format. Not that I know what is it all about... hehehe.. meanwhile what is white balancing? sorry .. total NOOB here.. |

I'm a newbie of fujifilm (previously owed a Canon A75),
Just bought S6500fd for RM1599 inc. 512MB xD type M and a camera bag... Been using for nearly 2 weeks in all sort of condition (day/night/raining/ from moving car/ in the house etc) and I'm proud to say I'm satisfied with each penny I've spend!! Highly recommended!! |

Grengo,
raw format : easier to PP later if you under-expose & white balance is bad. but of course jpeg format can also PP to some extend. dis-advantage is big file & slower performance white balance : the camera interprets white differently under different lighting conditions so it has to be inteligent enough to guess the right white color. so in some cases u might want to select the white balance manually based on lighting condition. so far i trust what my F30 cam choose in auto white balance mode so i don't select it manually. in fact i tried once to select incandecent & it turned out too bluish for my liking. in worst case u still can PP to correct the color cast |

you mean how to zoom in? or extend it?
for zooming you can use it just like Dslr with its zoom ring. to extend it, i think you have to look for 3rd party tele convertion lens |
