Let me do the job on the medical faculty then. However, if you've read thru the previous post i've already elaborated quite abit on the faculty of medicine. Anyhow, i'm gonna repeat this once again for my fellow upcoming juniors.

Basically if you were to compare the FoM (Faculty of Medicine) of AIMST with other medical universities, i would say that we're currently on par. We've changed much since the days the school of medicine started, which in on year 2001 where the 1st batch of MBBS students were enrolled. The curriculum (we're using the intergrated Bristol Curriculum) is no longer the same. Some 5 batches have graduated currently and our MBBS programme is recognised by LAN and MMC. Recently, were we only been listed on the IMED directory of WHO and our students are currently eligible to sit for the USMLE examination aka the US medical licensing examination. It's a greap leap for the FoM, AIMST. Much hardwork has been placed in by our fellow faculty members.
Brief intro is over, to talk about the school. We've currenty 9 batches in the school where 7 batches are in their clinical years and 2 in their pre-clinicals (13th and 14th batch). If you were to join, you will be in the 15th. Previously, the number of intakes were only up to 70 max while recently they've increased it to 130 for the 14th batch and 220 for the 15th batch. The FoM is defnitely growing, very fast.
An intro about the curriculum, the MBBS programme is a 5 year programme where the 1st 2 years (Pre-clinicals) you'll be dealing with basic science subjects like anatomy, physiology, biochem, microbio, patho, pharmaco and some community medicine subjects. Starting 2nd year, you'll be exposed to a lil bit of clinical skills which is very interesting if you ask me. 3rd year onwards, you'll start your clinical rotations in SP and Alor setar GH. This i will not elaborate much, you'll get to know more once you finished your 2nd year. The 1st 2 years are basically consists of lectures, practicals and continuous acessments.
Regarding the facilities you will have in the faculty, we've got 3 lecture theatres with state of art facilities which the largest can fit up to 400 students. We've an Anatomy dissection hall which not many private medical school in malaysia has, students learnabout anatomy through dissecting the cadavers. It's a fun experience i'd say. MDL, the multiple disciplinary laboratory is another facilities we had. It's very hard to explain what we have but basically everything we needed is there, such as the microbiology work stations etc and not to say the number of microscopes is very sufficient to cater to our students. Talking about something the FoM is really proud off, would be the Clinical Skill Lab.
The CSL (clinical skills lab) is basically setted up by Prof Dr. ET Larmie whom is a nuclear engineer and also a medical doctor. He originates from US and has came from USM to help us manage our CSL. He has helped IMU, University Padjajaran, USM etc to set up their skills lab respectively before this. We use the METi system (www.meti.com) and each simulator could cost up to 1 million (BMW 7 Series! LOL) and we currently have 3 adult simulators (iStan, wireless simulators), 1 pediatrics, 1 neonatal and few other systems such as the emergency rescue system (ELS). Besides, various simulators are also present according to diff systems. It's very hard to explain about everything that we've had because it's so much that you could only see when you're there. Medicine is one broad field where so many equipments are being used. But the only thing i can say is that, we've the MOST advance CSL in the whole of Malaysia. Currently, only IIUM has the METi system and they have only 1 of the simulator. Seriously, check out www.meti.com. You'll be impressed.
Faculty members to be continued soon.

wow.. thanks a lot man.. really enlightening.. can't wait for ur part 2 - faculty members.. LOL!!!
AIMST is so famous.. even University Malaya is using AIMST Dental Hospital as their new dental faculty design.
there is no astro in AIMST at the moment due to some stupid students who took the card and cut the card into 2... not once but twice. so the management is planning to not to re-introduce it unless the students agreed to take good care of the astro card....its all 4 to a room now.... u can special request for 3 to a room... 1 to a room is onli applicable for foreigners... and 2 to a room is slowly converting to 1 to a room.. due to lack of 1 to a room..
why in the world they wanna cut the astro card?? arg... my soon-to-be astro!!! =(
i also received 4 to a room, as i heard freshmen get 4 to a room due to lack of rooms in AIMST.. and since this year's medical faculty is taking in 220 students (coincidental with the tuition fees... =p), guess we all need to start cramming.. lol...
also, i wanna ask about the PTPTN loan.. I called them up and they say we can only apply during the second semester of year 1.. izit true?? and they'll assist us in our application?? i sure hope i can get that loan, if not, vy susah lor..
