Astro just finished installing their IPTV services at my place. 10mb maxis fibre internet.
This is a dumb question, but is the modem they provide (Technicolor TG784nv3) able to transmit WIFI like my previous Unifi modem? I can't seem to get my WIFI to work.

Just out of curiosity, didn't u test the network after they installed it?

Yup, everything works fine. Actually I've sort of figured it out, the password was the wireless key, I kept typing in the wireless PIN.
Is there a way to change the WIFI password and what gateway is recommended if i were to change from the technicolor TG784n v3 that was provided?

My house is landed. Was wondering any router suits it. Some of my friend said landed 1 don't have, but the 1 like condominium or apartment can use custom routers

What kind of modem/ONT/ONU that given for your new installation? Replacing the router should be straight forward thing, just unplug the Thomson router and replace it with your new router. The new router should be VLAN capable though, check this thread:

It doesn't matter what colour actually, just buy a router which has UNIFI sticker. Most of them routers are VLAN capable router, you might be able to change the VLANID. But before go and buy, do ask here first smile.gif Drawback, you can't use your VOIP.

I couldn't give any recommendation smile.gif I've Asus, TPLink, Aztech in my house but they're all running customised firmware (OpenWRT/DD-WRT). My main router is Buffalo running OpenWRT. Check those related threads e.g. for Asus, can be found here https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1506242 .. they've some discussion there about using Asus routers on Maxis FTTH too.

I just have the new Maxis Internet installed with thompson router.

I can't seem to have my printer connected and detected by the router like before (unifi router).

Does anyone have a solution to this or facing the same problem?

Thanks ahead.

More info on the printer make & model. You can't make the router detect the printer if it is using wifi, depending on the printer, you need to scan on wifi ssd, put the key manually on the printer.

i find out that recently Maxis Fibre is blocking connection to Torrent Trackers. I can confirm this because all the trackers status are connection timeout. once I connect to a US VPN then all the tracker is working properly.
