QUOTE(Renascence @ Jan 16 2015, 04:00 PM) Lucky you, the bulk of the complaints is how not gamer-friendly Maxis Home fibre is. See here, at Maxis' own forum, and for me it's not a smooth enough for gaming latency/ping time. I would get around 100-150ms, which could spike to over 200ms in a heavy team fight. That aside, easiest way to get your username and password is from your bill. It's the modem ID, a 5 digit number. Your password is those 5 numbers + 1. So if your modem ID is 12345, your username is 12345@home.maxis.com.my*, and your password would be 123451. If you don't have the bill, check the thread again and log into the supplied router you got from Maxis. Since I have no idea what model you're using, I can't guide you how to get into the dialler setup. Another way is to just call Maxis hotline 1-800-82-1123. *If you've changed from a private IP to a public IP, it's 12345@public.maxis.com.my. If you've never requested for a public IP, or never heard of it, you're most likely on a private IP, so use 12345@home.maxis.com.my I wonder what kind of ping you're getting in game for Dota 2, at start and while in a teamfight? below 30 whole game.. at start or teamfight? i think that one u mean fps

Enable console in game, and net_graph in it, FPS and ping will be shown in game, all the time ( here's how). I get 120 FPS, if you're curious, but after the last few updates, only 60. Hi, anyone here using maxis fibre in keramat area, specifically in setiawangsa?
I know TM already fixed the line this afternoon, but my line still haven't able to connect to the internet. I can't even watch my Astro since it was iptv.

Fingers crossed. The issue seems to feel like it's fixed in USJ 3.

QUOTE(the100308 @ Jan 18 2015, 11:51 AM) anyone using maxis fibre in jalan ipoh (specifically Rivercity Condo) area? i'm in a condo in batu 5 jalan ipoh (near the Store). Default setup for 2.5 years. No major complains so far from me (except the slow down last week which was the first worse case I've experience). I'm not a gamer, so can't comment on latency stuff. Download and video streaming typically 100GB - 200GB a month. A NAS to serve media on the local network and >10 devices on wi-fi. Quite satisfied so far for the price I'm paying.

QUOTE(the100308 @ Jan 18 2015, 01:56 PM) thx bro for your comment.. Router might be one thing you might have some gripe with. Power users who want to tweak this and that in the router might not like it. I guess Maxis made it that way to make their lives easier. I'm a "setup, power on and leave it for eternity" kind of a guy, so I find it serving my purpose just fine. Maybe you have a different use case, so it might not be satisfactory. Never the less, there's ample of options of 3rd party router with 3rd party firmware options as well (OpenWrt/DD-WRT).

QUOTE(MystiqueLife @ Jan 19 2015, 03:05 AM) What websites are you guys surfing? My usual suspects: » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(Renascence @ Jan 15 2015, 12:27 PM) Well... not 100% for me. I have to refresh Lowyat, as not all the buttons/images are loaded fully. Overseas' websites, (the ones I always surf, football365, 9gag, lifehacker, wikipedia, the such) are OK, local sites, such as local news portals, are loading up fine, with the exception of Lowyat's forum.
Banking sites are OK, emails are OK, remote controlling into other sites from site is not lagging and/or getting disconnected. Dota 2 streaming is better, can't fault Maxis on this, as Valve's servers are notoriously problematic itself, we'll see more as more games are being played out today in a tournament.
Online media streaming, online radios are OK. Youtube is not buffering, at least the random videos I'm clicking on, and HD where applicable. Dailymotion, OK. Astro on the Go streaming, problematic, I'd to relog, or refresh several times for the media to start streaming, and getting logged out for no reason (to be fair, we can't be sure whose fault this is). Blogs; blogspot, wordpress, loading up fine.
Download speeds are what I'm used to. Let's just see if things get better or worse (knock wood) as the day progresses.
Banking sites take longer to load it seems. Twitch.tv streaming is horrible. Obviously, I can't say what our other forumers' choice of websites is, but basically this is what I usually do. I end up opening just a window or two of my browser (with multiple tabs, of course) instead of the normal gazillion windows, with gazillions more tabs, as it gets just too frustrating to wait for a page to fully load.
