cal-lab not recommended to split after their products except SP9201DAF and power line, otherwise the result may different as you expected...

and the "fuse" either for DSL or D (Digital), cant mess up together... 1 unit of 9812 only have 1 "fuse"... and the "fuse" only for telephone module, power module dont have fuse...

so you mean power and modem no fuses, only telephone got fuses either DSL module or Digital module?

So any other product got fuses for modem and telephone?

all of the 9812 models have "fuse" which refering to SKPX...

9812 have power module (3pin power socket) and telephone module (RJ11 socket)...

power module dont have fuse but telephone module have "fuse" (SKPX)...

the "fuse" that i mention is not the fuse that u can found in DIY hardware shops...

if u dont want ur streamyx broadband speed effected, only SF9812DSL is ur choices... and cannot split after SF9812DSL as i shown u in the diagram... only can split before SF9812DSL, but telephone not protected and telephone cannot locate near ur modem and PC...

" fuses cant find? omg, i just think can replace it. Then how far telephone cant put? another " / in one room can? i always put telephone on one table, modem on another table that stick together two tables.


if i buy Digital module, ADSL will be affected? My plan .......... T_T


If telephone not protected? how i protect telephone separate? any recommend?

your "protect modem, telephone & PC" not recommended
u split the line after cal-lab unit and may effected ur broadband signal speed and cal-lab protection
ADSL splitter filter designed to split the analog signal and digital signal...
telekom -> SF9812DSL -> filtered as ADSL signal (digital only) -> ADSL splitter filter -> unsure what the outputs since the inputs only digital...

your "protect modem & PC" is what exactly want i want so say and same with the diagram i drawn just now...

try to locate ur telephone away from ur PC more than 3 meters... but as far as possible to avoid telephone carry surge and "jump" into ur PC

if u really concern on the phone, just follow my recommendation on my 1st reply
MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF
this combination can protect a cordless phone also...

If i protect telephone separately , SF9812 DSL module), SP9812 Digital module which one is suitable for pc and modem only. I even confuse, SF9812 have analog or digital or DSL???

yup... i afraid u will split the tel line after the SF9812DSL and complain the broadband speed effected significantly... and protection level may reduce also... if u dont have telephone nearby, i will recommend for SF9812DSL for sure...

SP9201DSL = SF9812DSL/SF9512DSL's telephone module
which means MDSC0039 + SP9201DSL = SF9812DSL / SF9512DSL

MDSC0039 have 1@3pin power socket, u can use multi socket to increase the number of power socket...

SP9201DAF = ADSL splitter filter + lighting protection
just replace ur ordinary ADSL splitter filter with SP9201DAF instead...
and u can use ur broadband and telephone at the same time, the modem wont disconnect...

if u expected for SF9812DSL + SP9201DAF for double protection on tel line, so far i hvnt try both combination, i have to do a testing 1st before i sell both of the models to u...

MDSC0039 protect power line which feeding power to ur PC and ur modem
SP9201DAF protect tel line which feeding digital signal to modem and analog signal to ur telephone

if surge come from power line... blocked by MDSC0039 and not able bypass it toward PC and modem...
if surge come from tel line... blocked by SP9201DAF and not able to bypass it toward telephone and modem...

hmm i wait u test on SF9812DSL + SP9201DAF , please write me a setup starting connect from telekom socket.. no hurry, u can do by tomorrow or when u free. Important is when take up phone, ADSL signal no losing.

Knowing tat MDSC0039 only have one 3 pins socket, if i add up socket to MDSC0039, any protection problem? coz my pc and modem need 2 @ 3pins socket.


Double protect from lightning on tel line for my modem, i'm worry about one small SP9201DAF no enough to protect.
But if lightning hit telephone line , is it both SP9201DAF and SF9812DSL burn directly?? Oh no, one time lost how many money......

usually only the front end device will burnt and wont effect the other devices...
if SP9201DAF burnt, the replacement cost will be RM15 only... if u stay along LDP areas, u can easy approach cal-lab showroom at bandar utama to do replacement exchange by urself...

i think MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF will suit for ur requirements and the price almost same with SF9812DSL...
the only things that SF9812DSL not able to protect analog telephone... but MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF combination can protect analog telephone...

yup, if damaged have to post back to HQ at Johor, Muar for restoration...
the restoration cost will around RM10-RM15... Rm10-Rm15 ensure your equipment in safe condition, still value for ur money...

Tested with SF9812DSL + SP9201DAF while using the telephone... not noise from telephone...


and the SP9201DAF used to replace the ADSL splitter filter... not need to install the ordinary splitter in ur installation...

SF9201DAF have two holes for both telephone and modem? O_o as i see from pic, i cant see side hole.
Mind you count how much postage to sarawak, sibu here if i buy these items.

SP9201DAF have a cable and 2 holes, a cable and a hole used "from telekom" or "to modem" and another hole used for "to telephone"

both units charge u Rm110 + Rm8 delivery cost to sarawak...

do u need a spare SKPX module for SF9812DSL? if the SKPX in SF9812DSL damaged by lightning, u can swap urself with working SKPX and ur SF9812DSL alive back...

if SF9812DSL + SKPX DSL + SP9201DAF, give u cheaper price RM120 + RM8 for delivery cost...
Note: SKPX cost RM19

2. if only SF9812DSL's SKPX module damaged, should be RM5-10 i think... if whole unit burnt, Rm15...

with/without insurance also the same replacement cost... but without will free hassle...

3. yes, the replaceable module is SKPX module for telephone line only (RJ11)

4. SP9201DAF dont have module, once it burnt have to send back to HQ for repair. item name = model name.

if we do replacement by ourself at Klang Valley direct with showroom, have to pay RM25 immediately replacement. if u do postage to HQ, RM15 for replacement cost + RM5 delivery cost (poslaju), u still save RM5 but take time to repair and deliver.

5. warranty is lifetime. u used cal-lab 10 years and fail tat time. the replacement cost still RM15 instead buying a new 1 with "Recommended Retail Price". but if u used 1 day only and so unlucky lightning strike tat day, u have to pay RM15 also since ur equipment is protected and cal-lab is "working" to protect ur equipments.

6. i will test ur units before send to u, very less chances to receive defect units. if u really receive defect units, can send back direct to HQ and i pay u the delivery cost to HQ.

My UPS expired a few weeks ago and at the moment I'm searching for a new one (http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=491055) , but my main concern is protection from lightning instead of constant power. I'm not sure how the lightning isolator works so it would be helpful if you can show me the benefits compared to getting a Prolink PC600 UPS which is what the shopkeeper recommended.

For my old UPS it has 4 female power sockets (1 primary 3 secondary) and one internet socket.

I use them for

1. PC (primary socket) - the PSU in the pc is 650W
2. monitor
3. monitor
4. empty for spare use
5. DLink 520T - set to ADSL at the moment because somehow my house signal not compatible with ADSL2

Among the products in the catalog, which one best fits this usage?

change module wont void warranty, just make sure the stickers on the cal-lab case not damaged, then warranty still will lifetime... i can confirm tat take out the module wont effect the sticker...

usually only SP9201DAF or SKPX module will damage, bcos lightning come from tel line often... both of the units replacement cost maybe just RM10 or below...

if whole SF9812DSL burnt, will be RM15 to do replacement. hence, if we do hand by hand swapping direct with cal-lab, that will be RM25... yours only RM15 + RM5 (delivery to HQ)... still cheaper...


i not sure the quality of Prolink UPS, but cal-lab able to compatible with most of the UPS and free hassle, just plug and play...
if tend to protect UPS also, u can plug the power socket before the UPS...
Wall socket -> cal-lab -> UPS -> PC

if about the internet socket on UPS, i not sure whether it will effect ur streamyx speed or not...
but u can plug it as well if the speed not effected..
Tel socket -> cal-lab -> UPS -> modem -> PC

i recommended for SF9812DSL + SKPXDSL for simple setup, lower replacement cost and efficient, although is slightly expensive...

i think the electric shock is caused by your equipment electric leakage...
if u used another multi socket but still the problem still persist, cal-lab wont help much bcos mostly ur equipment caused the problem...
it just designed to protect surge from the external environment...
