Hey Bro,

Thanks for the respond...actually i would like to have only 2 TNB point (MSDC0039), one dedicated for alarm...another use Trinity Twin Power Pack. For telephone line, protected with SP9201DAF; For astro cable, can i just use MD-FC? Alarm's AC protected by Trinity Twin Power Pack.

With only 2 TNB point, then i can just unplug one point that connected with Trinity Twin Power Pack & keep the alarm on with MSDC0039...what's ur view?

Not problem for your suggestion, as long as the protected equipments are closed with Cal-Lab will be fine...
if excessive extension (example MDSC0039 / SP9201DAF <10-20meter cable> alarm system) will affected the protection efficiency...

Here as revised... smile.gif

u need SP9201DAF to protect tel cable for phone & modem and replace the microfilter, hence pair with MDSC0039 for power protection...

Hi, I tried to look through your list and there are so many combination i got a little confuse.

I currently have 2 different "part" of the house i wan to protect.

1st Part: 1 modem + streamyx line (no spliter), 1 wifi router, 1 NAS (connected to the wifi router thru short LAN cable)
(All this share the same wall socket)

2nd Part: Computer (wifi), Misc small stuff (fan, phone charger, etc)
(All this share the same wall socket)

Can you recommend something to protect both of this~ Thanks

Edit:

From what i can see, that i need 2 MDSC0039 for the 2 wall socket and 1 SP9201DAF. Correct?

1st part: since u dont have telephone and wired lan cable to another location, u can use SF9512DSL, SF9812DSL or other equivalent models for power cable and tel cable protection

2nd part: since your PC running with wifi, so protect the power cable with MDSC0039 will sufficient...

Thanks for your reply!

For Room #2, no aerial antenna and no telephone nearby. How do I protect my Astro? And how to protect the Astro --> HDMI/Component/RCA --> TV?

For Room #1 and #3, yes, desktops connected with wired lan cable

wow, that's great!

Umm, one minor correction, Room #3 has 2 lan cables connected all the way to Room #1 -- I don't use a switch in Room #3.

Do I still use the same setup?

Do give me quotation on this. Thanks.

if u need another lan protection,
u need to install another SLAN1236 at Room 1;
hence install another SD-4C (recommended) or SLAN1236 at Room 3

can get the idea roughly? smile.gif

Hmm, so if I add another SLAN1236 at Room 3 for CPU 2, it should be enough?

Also, just wondering -- if I'm already protected from Telekom, and protected from TNB (Room 1 + Room 3 protected) - why would I need to protect my LAN cables with SLAN1236?

any metal built items able to attract surge... hence the longer cable, the higher exposure toward to environment... that the reasons SD-4C & SLAN1236 designed for long lan cable, furthermore ur house build with metal bar, water pipe, metal grille, etc as those able to attract surge & staics and "jump" into any cables easily...

asuumed u only protect Room3's lan point, dont forget the surge will able to route into ur router, hence router connected to CPU and multisocket which means all of the Room1's equipments still facing the risks...

click the link below and read post #770 to prove that LAN cable able to carry surge...
