but if I touch my amplifier that is made of metal I got some current flowing to me... is that bad grounding?

and does that still works on cal lab?
*

either is bad grounding of your equipments or your multi socket or poor earthing provided by TNB

if your equipments with bad grounding, nothing much can do...
as good equipments usually wont leak any currents out from the casing...

Setup 1
PC used with ADSL modem and telephone & splitter located beside both PC equipments, u can use the combination of MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF... SP9201DAF will used to replace ur ordinary ADSL splitter filter...

Setup 2
PC + 4 unit fax modem, you can use SF9512ARD + 3 unit SP9201ARD. about your statement "1 modem connected to the splitter", you means this tel cable come from Setup 1's tel cable?

anyway, is it ALL of the equipments as above located in the same room?

if 1 PC + 1 USB ADSL Modem + 4 USB Fax Modem
since all of your modem powered up via USB, no necessary for MDSC0039...
unless u means your ADSL modem wasnt the USB type, but connected via lan cable instead...

Comes to your thread for advice

I am currently running 2 desktop, 1 connected via wireless another via RJ45 LAN

Internet vice is

Phone - ADSL Spliter - Modem - Router

Everything is located together.. I am using Tons of extension together now.. around 10 plugs together.. How do you proposed a lighting protection system? Do I need to protect both my power and my phone line all together?

Please update me on your proposal

what is your equipment list and what is total power consumption? only 2 desktop + 1 modem router concerned? bcos cal-lab have 1000w & 2000w version depend on your load... hence is ur ADSL splitter filter and telephone placed near to ur PC?

if both of PC and modem router located at the same table/area... then lan cable protection no concerned...

as overall, 2 PC, modem router & telephone located at the same table/area, then u can use the combination of MDSC0039 or SLMS2+3 or Twin Power Pack + SP9201DAF smile.gif

Hi, I wish to get your recommendation on a power strip/surge protector...

The biggest problem with my requirements is that my room only has ONE power outlet, and i use the following devices all at the same time (mostly)...

Usage:
1) ADSL Modem
2) Laptop
3) Laptop
3) Desktop (<350W)
4) Table fan
5) 4.1 PC speakers
6) Guitar amp (13W)
7) Phone charger

What I have in mind is a 8-port power strip, but I can always daisy-chain (to be advised)...

thanks in advance! notworthy.gif
