are you using fax machine or dial up modem? if yes, recommended to use SF9512ARD for power & tel protection as concerned that surge may come from power source too...

Setup 1
PC used with ADSL modem and telephone & splitter located beside both PC equipments, u can use the combination of MDSC0039 + SP9201DAF... SP9201DAF will used to replace ur ordinary ADSL splitter filter...

Setup 2
PC + 4 unit fax modem, you can use SF9512ARD + 3 unit SP9201ARD. about your statement "1 modem connected to the splitter", you means this tel cable come from Setup 1's tel cable?
Yes.

anyway, is it ALL of the equipments as above located in the same room?
Yes.  all modem are usb type which do not need external power.

that mean i would need to have
1 x MDSC0039
1 x SP9201DAF
1 x SF9512ARD
3 x SP9201ARD

thanks
