From the reviews i read gariz case is quite slippery.. any other alternatives?

Sony did try to unseat Nikon and Canon in the DSLR market but as you can see now, they've gone back to what they do best. Sleak, trendy and hip stuff. They're creating again products that look great in ads and on paper. The whole NEX range clearly marketed to be the point and shoot for rich kids. With an ASP size sensor and modern technology, even if they didn't put in any effort into the sensor or lens, it will still produce good images good enough to get praise from pocketlint or Gizmondo. Furthermore, companies like Zeiss and Leica have already realized that they can't live on with super high price lenses that caters to a niche market. Those lenses will last forever and the company won't make money. So they've traded their reputation, starting with Sony/Zeiss partnership and now Leica/Panasonic partnership.

The the precisely where Fuji's X series shine. All the technical mumbo jumbo aside, other cameras just don't produce this kind of colors.

Hello Fuji Sifus, I am thinking of giving up DSLR photography (sick and tired of lugging all my gear around) and get a Fuji X100 or X100s. Any X100 users here who have upgraded to the X100s? I was thinking of getting either the X100 + WCL or X100s, which would probably come up to the same price. Is the "s" worth the "WCL" or vice versa? Which is more worth it?

If you're thinking of getting the WCL, I think you're better off just getting the XE1 since that WCL is so expensive anyway. I'm not sure if this is your case, but I've heard a few people say they want to get the x100 with WCL just to get the 28mm f/2 I think that's not too worth it. I like taking pictures at night and I never take off the polarizer and I normally at f/3.6 for the DOF. If it gets too dark or my hands seems too unsteady, I will just bump up the ISO even up to 3200. For the x100, even if there is noise, it will be luma noise that any program can easily take care of. I use Nik, but Noiseaware does the job well too, so does PS inbuilt noise reduction.

i my self at first also wanted a X pro-1 but then only thinking of the 35mm lensand taking it for street, but then i was tight on budget, only can grab the XE1, but i really wanted a optical viewfinder (using EVF for too long edi), then the sales man tell me to grab the X100, plus its a street camera with best lens angle of 35mm, it just nice and with OVF..
then i never regret getting X100 even it cant change lens, as i no need to think which lens to take during photog and i shoot all the way up..

that wide angle does not really widen your view...but make your wallet thinner, take the money go for X100s, you will see how amazing the color and noise performance turn out, i am a X100 and Nik D700 user, and very impressed how this small camera can make, now making the D700 sitting in the corner...
