Get the X100s man. Believe me you will miss many shots that will make you just go "I wish this camera is faster". How is the card writing speed on the s? How long will it take to save a 10 shot continuous burst mode.

hi bro, i got a big question...

when we twist the aperture ring and shutter speed, will the camera show the effect straightly?

i feeling a bit weird as i need to fully press the shutter, meaning the photo is save already.... then only i can see the effect... really wish to sort this out ><

You mean in the case of exposure or depth of field? For the depth of field effect I can say that the EVF and electronic screen can show it accurate enough.

For exposure I would say that it depends from time to time. Sometimes the preview will show it exactly like what you will get after you press the shutter button while some other time it will not.

i'm not sure... but how to turn it on... im a very newbie into this system...

for example, when i turning the aperture to a bigger number or a larger shutter speed, the lcd and evf display should be getting darker and darker right? but mine just wont change (same bright) until u fully press the shutter... u will only know when u see the final result. it is a bit driving me mad now sad.gif

That depends on the exposure meter, you know that horizantal meter on the Screen, above the shutter speed, aperture and ISO information. But you know what, I suggest you to just shoot in Aperture Priority mode. Set the Shutter Speed dial to auto, it makes shooting a lot more fun, well for me anyway. You need only to control the exposure dial and aperture ring that way.

When did this happen anyway? When you are shooting in daylight out in the open? Maybe just maybe you forgot to turn on(or off) the ND Filter.

i'm with XE1 + 35mm lens... i think i dont have the built in ND filter right?

what i mean is, my camera lcd and evf view wont kick in when i turning the aperture and shutter dial... only when i fully press the shutter only i can see the result... which mean, the lcd and evf is same bright when i kicking the aperture and shutter down, but the live view of evf and lcd wont dim.. until i snap the photo only i can see it is dark... icon_question.gif anything i can do on this?

***i had figure it out... instead of showing us the kicking down effect of shutter and aperture, XE1 gave it up and show us the depth of field (aperture that we selected) when we half press the shutter... the correct exposure will be rely on the small meter/histogram and bottom left... i really like fuji more and more thumbup.gif ***

I am quite certain now i will be going for x100 instead of x100s. For the extra "s", i am paying extra 700+ which i rather save for accessories.

Just my 2 cents. smile.gif

Bro,

RM 700 is just an estimation, assuming x100 is selling for RM 2799 and x100s for RM 3499. tongue.gif

did u take counted what has the "700" extra pay give you?

higher resolution evf, twice faster processor and better sensor (faster startup and better IQ), newer focus aid (contrast and peaking), hybrid af !!!Ā   drool.gif

i had tried both x100 and x100s... i will say x100s really do a lot better when comes to taking photo of fast movements or subjects...Ā  flex.gif

You have made me re-consider my decision! brows.gif

At this range, i might as well consider Olympus OM-D 5. What you guys think? rclxub.gif

OMD wins Fuji X series with the breezing fast autofocus speed...
but it is still a micro 4/3 sensor which is relatively small compare to aspc on x100s/xe1/xpro1... perhaps, OMD will provide you a lineup of m43 lens available (not only from oly) without losing the AF function...

it is a very individual thought as i said... just make a wise choice and works on yr budget... smile.gif

OMD should be compared with X-E1 rather than the fixed lens X100/s.

I did consider the OMD before buying the X-E1. No regrets for me. The IQ and high ISO of the X-E1 is superb. OMD image stabilization is the best but 18-55 OIS is pretty good.

Definitely is an individual choice. If you really must have fast focusing or need the 5-axis IBIS then the OMD is the choice. Otherwise, it's got to be the X-E1.
