I have been using the X100 for a little over a year now, and I have to say that the camera is still blowing my mind with its image quality. Even my friend who owned a full frame body commented on the camera's excellent lense.

Many people would tell you how discrete the camera is for shooting and I can say first hand that it's true. People seem to not be concerned at all when I shoot them with it, even at a relatively close degree.

Here's my series of street photography or I'd rather call them photo essays that I took at a rural area in Egypt.

How's the X100s so far for those that have it image quality wise? Does it blog the X100 out of the water?

holla.. I'm totally new in photography, X-E1 my first DSLR  smile.gif

Welcome to the club! Why did you choose Fuji may I ask, because most people will go for Nikon or Canon for their first DSLR (though the X-E1 is actually a mirrorless camera, but hey I'm nitpicking). I own an X100 an was attracted by the Retro stylings of it. Those guys at DigitalRev and TheCameraStoreTV also did a tremendous job selling the camera to me when I watch their reviews.

My X100 doesn't have the Aperture Blade issue, nor anyone I know online so I'd say the chances are slim.

Get the X100s man. Believe me you will miss many shots that will make you just go "I wish this camera is faster". How is the card writing speed on the s? How long will it take to save a 10 shot continuous burst mode.

You mean in the case of exposure or depth of field? For the depth of field effect I can say that the EVF and electronic screen can show it accurate enough.

For exposure I would say that it depends from time to time. Sometimes the preview will show it exactly like what you will get after you press the shutter button while some other time it will not.

That depends on the exposure meter, you know that horizantal meter on the Screen, above the shutter speed, aperture and ISO information. But you know what, I suggest you to just shoot in Aperture Priority mode. Set the Shutter Speed dial to auto, it makes shooting a lot more fun, well for me anyway. You need only to control the exposure dial and aperture ring that way.

When did this happen anyway? When you are shooting in daylight out in the open? Maybe just maybe you forgot to turn on(or off) the ND Filter.

According to FujiRumors, a 55-200mm lens with optical image stabilisation will be released this upcoming May.

You can see their updated lens roadmap also here:

Welcome but why do you want to sell it may I ask? If you just want to limit yourself to just one camera that's understandable but you want o get an X100.

Just curious. How's the X-Pro 1 so far?

Gosh I would love to attend that workshop. Too bad I'm overseas right now sad.gif

Anyway I guess since you guys are posting blog posts to poison people into buying a Fuji X-system camera here's my chronicles (or travelogue) from my trip to Dublin, Ireland. I'd say 99% of photos in these posts are straight out of cameras. I think I only edited the white balance of 3 pictures and cropped 2.

Dublin 00: prologue
dublin 01: trinity college, the library & st stephen green.
dublin 02: howth
dublin 03: a rainy friday.
dublin 04: the prick with the stick
dublin 05: malahide castle
dublin 06: epilogue - a journey full circle.

I think all of these are worth a read.

If the new X100s can produce photos more beautiful than these than goddamn.

Me? A medical student boss. Currently studying in Egypt. But I'm eyeing for an opportunity, any opportunity to get into the photography industry.

Haha I didn't mean getting into the industry as a professional. I meant wanting to know, to learn, and to be inspired by pros in the photography industry. It's something that I want to do in my spare time. I've got a 3 months summer holiday coming up this June. The problem is, I don't know anyone in real life who can direct me to that. Maybe it's because not many are into street and urban photography.

Reading that comment back I should have worded it a little bit better.

Just visited yours. Got a minimallyminimal vibe there which in turn is my favourite blog ever so that is a very good thing. Seems like you've got a wedding gig locked up. Mind sharing how you first started it, come on share tongue.gif

I honestly think somethings are better as a hobby, photography included. For me atleast.

Great pictures! I was confused at first when I saw the first picture of the nurse. In my mind "where on earth do nurses wear like that?" and I scroll down and understood that you were at a cosplay event haha.

lol, anyway picture time.

Petronas Twin Tower, Kuala Lumpur.
Tried to be a little unorthodox in my angles. This building has been captured millions of time so I need to think out of the box a little bit for my photos.

By close up shot do you mean macro mode? Because the viewfinder will automatically change to EVF to avoid parallax. It should be accurate.
