JustcallmeLarry,

Just as jitshiong mentioned, get the IPA and yes, the company will apply for the work permit on your behalf.

Anyway some areas that are far from town, it's possible to get a room for 500-600 without aircon and no attached toilet from what i've seen around. These kind of rooms can be furnished with basic furniture or semi furnished though. For good locations near to town, afraid to say...room rental is high because of the nearby amenities and facilities, not forgeting that alot of foreign expats like to stay near or in town area for convenience sake.

QUOTE(jitshiong @ Mar 15 2013, 10:57 PM)
Yes, the company will do the application for you. Ask for the IPA (In Principal Approval) from the company before coming over.
SGD1500 is pretty low if you ask me.

Why not?

You were worried the train station's ticketing counter doesn't sell tickets?

The stations you need on the booking page are "Woodlands CIQ" and "Sentral Kuala Lumpur"

Is it hard to get a job in Oil and Gas company in Singapore for a Graduate? Non O&G companies can be considered as well. I'm Mech Eng fresh graduate and hoping to try finding job in singapore. Quite a number of my friends told me by giving self 1-2 months of constant job hunting, definitely will land in a position. Is that true?

I'm just afraid when i go there for job hunt, will waste my time and efforts, going back empty handed to my hometown in E'Msia. >.<

Any tips/suggestions? notworthy.gif

Tele-interview is no different from normal interview, the question asked basically is more on technical questions, like what have you learn, what you know and bla bla bla. i went through the process and actually is a not bad experience.

Find Job in what company also hard, sometimes due to several reason:
-your expected salary is higher than they intend to offer.
-your qualification is not enough.
-your university is not recognise(singapore company doesn't know all malaysia private and local uni, just few top listing)

just saying doesn't mean what i say is correct, i could be any of it or maybe more,
coming down to SG for job hunting is quite efficient as you be available anytime, but the thing is you must give yourself at least three month as normal room for rent is minimum three month, unless you backpack.

maybe you can try job market online search first. see how the market going now before you decide anything

We get a lot of people who come in here with pre-conceived opinions from themselves or their friends & family. And it's not productive when they tell people who are actually living & working in Singapore that what they experience every day is mistaken because it is not consistent with whatever their friends told them.

They do exactly what you did. Instead of asking the former who responds why they said what they said, they just reply with a - "but" so and so say not like that wor.

So you'll get more from here if you ask about forumers experiences, instead of implying they are mistaken because your friends said something different.
