yeah great, so they can fit the stock 17' rim right? do u know what is the stock tire for current 2013 forte 1.6sx? wanna ask tires shop how much they can trade in tongue.gif
*
The stock tyre is Silverstone Atlantis V7

Other recommended tyres are:-

1) Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2
2) Michelin Primacy LC / PS3
3) Yokohama advan db v551

You should get at least RM200 trade in for each new tyre of Silverstone Atlantis V7. Must know how to bargain.

stock tyre is either Silverstone M5 or V7, both trade in price should not more than Rm200 per piece (depend how new and which shop you trade to). Some ppl only managet to get Rm70 per piece, some get Rm150/170 etc...
*
You only get RM70 after used 6 months.

That's why, the new buy must drive to tyre shop directly and get it replace, will get at least RM200 per tyre. This is the feedback from few tyre shops.

RM200 is very good for them, with new tyre, they can simply earn RM50 per tyre when they sell to others.

icon_question.gif  HELP  icon_question.gif

My car got small cockroach, damn it. Don't know how it comes in. Anyone deal with this before?  sad.gif

Another question is, I realized that the gear can be shifted even though I did not press the switch. Then what is the function of the switch?  icon_question.gif
*
1. Use Sheltox or put pandan leaf in the car

2. The D and N can be shifted without press the switch, because it is designed as this way so you shift to N when stop at the traffic light. If you can shift to R or P without press the switch, then you must send to Service Center.

Will it void warranty? Is it easy to pasang and remove? Which part we pasang it?

I bought the normal version from V12 3 months back.
You can feel the change in performance directly.
This will help in solving the common issue where Forte is crawling slow in first 2 gear.
For me, it is quick worthwhile to buy that.
But for me, normal version is sufficient for Forte.
Super version is about double the price, so if you are rich, you can go ahead for super version.

How about fuel consumption? Will it cause the FC higher or lower than before?

my personal testing and survey confirmed BHP got best balance of strongest/quickest acceleration response and smoothness with engine quietness, but slightly higher FC than Petronas. Caltex and Shell gave me poor FC, sluggish power and loud engine noise when accelerating.. (Forte, Vios, M5, Corolla Altis, Focus, Golf GTI, Estima)

so, let's boycott Caltex and Cap Kerang togeder-geder rolleyes.gif
*
Be more precise, let's boycott Caltex and Cap Kerang ON YOUR AREA togeder-geder

My Area Caltex really give me quiet and high performance to my car although FC a bit higher.

Conclusion is really depends on which petrol station as some campur minyak Tanah into petrol.

I heard that It will be reducing import tax for japan and Austria cars soon? Is it real?? If the both these countries import cars are reducing the import tax.. meaning that Korean and other countries cars price will be reduce also? (because they want to fight with their competitors).. Is above statements are right?
*
99.9% wrong.

Not many car imported from Japan / Australia so no impact will happen. That is some flower talks to make politician looks fight enough to reduce price. The only car imported from Japan / Aus are those above >RM200K ++

So at the end, only those rich man who can afford to buy expensive import car will get discount!

MY god, rich man get more richer.

Hi, who put on the photo of Forte thread on front page of car clubs? The black modified forte really doesn't look like Forte. I suggest change it.

Morning world. Another day... Midweek. How has your forte been treating you? Mine gave me a surprise this morning. It came out error message "steering not locked" and won't start when I press push start this morning. Then I try again, ok already. Weirdness.
*
Yeah.. Nothing is perfect. I think I hit the same problem once. But I dont really care since the car still keep me driving.

This issue is being explained in the users manual & can easily been solved if we notice the error message on the supervision cluster before u going out of the car. It's due to certain steering position that unalign with the auto steering lock mechanism. This should not happen if we keep the steering in normal straight position when we turn off the engine. It's not a problem by any means & very rarely happens

hi guys....silly question here...i have a 2.0 6 speed forte....2 years old

yesterday on NS highway a honda city (current gen) was beind me and after letting him pass i had a hard time trying to keep up with him...
seems like the honda city was very fast.... i was doing about 160-170 and he was still pushing forward like a real sports car

anything wrong with my car?
also anybody know the curb weight of the 2.0?

honday city's curb weight is 1,140 kg (from official website) so now i am wondering is it because my car is extra heavy?

Sorry to hear that our Forte cannot beat Segment B car Honda.

The only way is use Kancil 1.3 and pasang mercun on it. Sure pecut and beat him kao kao.

Let the Honda City 'bi boh ean'!!! (Hokkien)... means your Kancil is too fast and HCity cannot smell your smoke at all. rclxms.gif

My new forte seem has some few problem, properly some minor defect sad.gif

1. Car boot lever not working, remote control is fine
2. No seat belt warning when I did not fasten my seat belt
3. Back seat can't click back after fold down
4. Aux not working with my phone

Not sure if anyone encounter the same...
*
You need to send back to SC to fix this.

For sure no 2 not working. I guess NAZA remove this feature to avoid our Forte too advance.

Yes. People will drop other car and choose Forte only. Does it work on 2.0? For sure it is not working on 1.6SX.

if I were you, I will not say to avoid our Forte too advance. Simply irrelevant.

Naza Kia omitted this feature because they understood that majority Malaysian will ignore the seatbelt warningsign. And also they won't appreciate the warning chime sound keep bothering the users and in the end customers will bring back to SC to disable the audible seatbelt warning chime.

As for the Optima K5, Kia engineers in Korea made the chime sounds much more pleasant than our current Forte. Naza Kia decided not to alter anything in K5 since it's CBU unit from Korea but our Forte is CKD made so they can not include the seatbelt warning since not many Malaysians will appreciate it.
*
I don't agree with what you said. You speak for Naza or this is what they said?

This is safety feature, only Malaysia approve for that. If go outside, sure kena reject.

Naza happy to remove it so can save one cable/sensor connected to seat belt. Furthermore no need to provide warranty on this item. nod.gif

Whether you agree or not, it is mentioned like that from some local automotive magazines back few years ago. Not that I am so free to reka cerita.

Waja in Y2K era till it's end of their life-cycle does have the warning seatbelt sign too if observe carefully on instrument cluster. And it is non-functional too like Malaysia assembled Forte.
*
Another big talker in magazine and just to speak for Naza for some reason.

Yeah .. Naza and Proton no different. Will remove whatever they can to save some money for themselves.

MyVI has the feature very useful and reminder to wear seat belt .. first of course safety and 2nd avoid kopi duit to mata.

Read again at my extended post above. I am also talking based on experience and logic.

PS: I owned Vios 2009 and it has very annoying beep beep beep sound and after 30 seconds it will continues beep faster until the driver fedup while just driving around parking lot looking for carpark. And UMW Toyota SC said many Vios customers requested to gunting the seatbelt buzzer chime. True Story.
*
I believe what you said. This is really depends on individuals. Some like it and some doesn't. For me, I like it very much.

For Naza, or magazine talker, they cannot simply remove the feature since got some feedback from certain people only.

I got my car from edwin too last 2 months. My odo at that time around 30km+. Hw much did u add ur money for tinted?

Welcome to teh club!:p
*
Yeah if you request SA to pasang tint or bodykit, they will send to few shops to get I bikin. If you never ask, they still have to send to car wash to polish and clear all the dirty.

My car without tint or bodykit by SA, I found 8 or 11km showed in odometer. I believe they sent to car wash. I questioned the SA. He blah blah blah ... many excuses.
