Yeah, would be nice to be able to grab the phone if it rings and I'm in the shower. Things like that makes a lot of difference

QUOTE(ck.chunkeat @ Feb 24 2013, 07:01 PM) Think it will survive swimming..theres a video demo from soyacincau where he brings it along for swimming and demo-ed the underwater camera feature..and as long as you dont brings it too deep as the deeper underwater it goes, the higher the water pressure..What i think is that the phone will survive at 1m depth for more than 30min but will not survive 30min at a deeper depth,e.g. maybe 5m? Just theory though,no hard evidence to support this.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...=2147051&page=2Some replies from someone over at the xda.. That's not my point,i bring my acro s for swimming also, but the phone is NOT designed to do that, that's all i can say

Questions... It says... 1m submersion for 30mins.... So after 25mins i remove it from water.... will the time left for future submersion will only be 5mins or will it reset back? Follow up... if it resets back... how long do i have to wait to submerge it again? sudden realisation

Since they have propagated the feature, when you do it within the limits stated and something untoward happens, just send in for a warranty claim. But of course, you do not know the ramifications and may have to spend time in ensuring you come out unscathed.

At the end of the day, the certification is just an organisation coming in to say "Yes, we have tested it and can confirm that under lab conditions, it can be submerged under water @ xx meters for xx minutes". That's all.
The device may be able to last double that period, double that depth or even both together. We will never know. It has just been certified for a set value.
Same thing with computer processors. Why you buy them, they are set at a specific clock speed. Of course you could always overclock it and what not to get a higher clock speed for higher performance. But the reason they set a default speed is just their official guarantee.
Edit: Typo

Somehow i hope sony will use a snapdrgon 600 proc rather than the s4 pro in the tablet z for the international version.
