QUOTE(shadow_rx @ Feb 24 2013, 12:07 PM) if you plan to staying at Malaysia than u get it from here. If work at UK than just buy it at there. This will solve your warranty issue in the future time. QUOTE(uzary @ Feb 24 2013, 12:07 PM) if u can get the free headset offered in uk, i think it worth it. however the only problem i think would be the warranty. I'm working in msia currently but so far all my phones i bought nvr been send for warranty before (touch wood). I shall play the phone in the store first. See what freebies they gonna give. |

QUOTE(eugenetwh @ Feb 24 2013, 12:37 PM) i suppose u mean noise cancellation during callsyes, almost all smart phone like android, iphone & windows phone have tis feature until now, still haven't seen a device without tis feature if u mean noise cancellation over music playback u will need a supported headphone unlike sony walkman |

QUOTE(monocle @ Feb 24 2013, 12:46 PM) Think to yourself, spec matters, or usability better? For me, I made my mind once, and not going back on it. Compare both phones thoroughly, consider what will be missing after you purchased your phone. Like One, the viewing angle is good, the camera might be good( i still cannot say as sample pictures release still cannot satisfy my eyes) and performance wise, it's the best to date. For me, One is a dealbreaker as I like to swap between all three of my 32gb mSD cards, OTG is not an option for me so far. Some more I'm the type to go on activities, usually swimming, so Z can help me on that. I can even pair with my Olympus Tough camera to shoot underwater! This are some of factors for me that made my mind on Z.. What's yours.. |

I went to Sony Wings store in The Curve earlier and they don't have a pre-order. They said that they will take names/contact information and call when the item arrives. First come first serve, etc.
Sony Centre in Ikano had a pre-order up and they will take your name, contact number and the colour of the phone you want. Then they ask for RM200 for deposit and issue you with a receipt for the deposit with the phone information. Call you when it arrives so you can go and collect. So I asked him a few questions earlier and he said he has NO exact price for the phone, NO idea about what's in the box, and NO idea about the freebies that are coming with the pre-order. Eventually he said just give him RM50 for the pre-order so I did that. Now just wait till mid of March for the phone to arrive. No issues if you want to cancel the pre-order, just go back and collect the deposit. If use cc, then you'll lose 2% from the deal because they'll return cash during cancellation. So summary is, no idea what's going on but I need a phone as my current phone is dying This post has been edited by refnulf: Feb 24 2013, 04:17 PM |

QUOTE(teckyang97 @ Feb 24 2013, 06:20 PM) FYI,all Sony water resistant phone is not designed for swimming even ip57,its design for accidental damage, raining, and bathing Think it will survive swimming..theres a video demo from soyacincau where he brings it along for swimming and demo-ed the underwater camera feature..and as long as you dont brings it too deep as the deeper underwater it goes, the higher the water pressure..What i think is that the phone will survive at 1m depth for more than 30min but will not survive 30min at a deeper depth,e.g. maybe 5m?Just theory though,no hard evidence to support this.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread...=2147051&page=2 Some replies from someone over at the xda.. QUOTE (IP)(5)(7) IP = Ingress Protection 5 = Dust protected Desc - Ingress of dust is not entirely prevented, but it must not enter in sufficient quantity to interfere with the satisfactory operation of the equipment; complete protection against contact 7 = Immersion up to 1 m Desc: Ingress of water in harmful quantity shall not be possible when the enclosure is immersed in water under defined conditions of pressure and time (up to 1 m of submersion). Test Routine: Test duration: 30 minutes Immersion at depth of at least 1 m measured at bottom of device, and at least 15 cm measured at top of device The reason why it's not 8 because for you to be able to get IP58 is 8 = Immersion beyond 1 m Desc: The equipment is suitable for continuous immersion in water under conditions which shall be specified by the manufacturer. Normally, this will mean that the equipment is hermetically sealed. However, with certain types of equipment, it can mean that water can enter but only in such a manner that it produces no harmful effects. Test Routine: Test duration: continuous immersion in water Depth specified by manufacturer and to get the IP67 6 = Dust tight Desc: No ingress of dust; complete protection against contact The highest level is IP68 which requires a dust tight and is capable of staying underwater for an unlimited time. Like submarines. But this isn't dust tight because of the open ports. And also this can't emerge underwater for an unlimited time because the body isn't airtight and moisture can develop inside the case if submerged longer. So.......... It is only stated to last 30minutes underwater because that's the criteria level of IP rules is not very specific enough. So sony only have 2 choices for this... Either go with the rule to state the device that it can be submerged 1meter for 30 minutes or state that it can be submerged down below the water for centuries So to summarize it all the 30minutes 1 meter is not the device limitation but just the certification's description. |
