To make ones conventional dividend shariah, one need to give 66% of the dividends to charity.

Meaning Muslims better convert to epf shariah.

The Standard Chartered UT representative who recommended UT to the customers quit after daily scoldings n cursing from the customers.
Report to the bank? The bank doesn’t bother, they will ask you to buy more.

My PM UT rep told me to buy more now on trusts on Chinese Stocks. No more PM for me.
*
For sure kena. I think all these salesperson quit very fast, always see new faces.

Trust China stocks? Now china on depression already. Gov step in also barely can save the crumbling property sector. lol.

Unker can't read chinese...unker can only read computer codes.

========================================

A woman, Nufali, posted that she has a friend in her circle who is 45 years old. He is the head of a family and works in the information technology industry in Kuala Lumpur.

"He rides a motorcycle to work every day to avoid traffic jams. He graduated at the age of 23 and has been working ever since. Like others, he once withdrew money from the Provident Fund Account 2 to buy a house."

Nufali pointed out that the other party told her that saving a million provident fund is not a dream and anyone can do it.

“First, you must have a stable job and sufficient wages. Secondly, you must make contributions to the Provident Fund Board. Thirdly, you will not use your provident fund savings if it is not necessary. Fourthly, increase your wages by changing jobs (you can pay to the new employer Demanding higher wages), and he has changed employers eight times."

She said that during the COVID-19 movement control order, many people were affected, but this friend was very calm because he had enough savings for emergencies.

She pointed out that the Provident Fund Board recently announced a dividend of 5.4% (Islamic account) in 2023, and the interest on her friends’ provident fund deposits is as high as RM54,154.

She said that her friend is only 45 years old this year. If he retires at the age of 60, his provident fund savings can reach more than 2 million ringgit, and the interest alone will be 10,000 ringgit every month.

"There are many millions of migrant workers like this. They are humble and low-key."

I think what that article meant there are many migrants who are hardworking and low key. Not neccessary have RM1 mil in EPF.

the follow SG CFP  what-if thingy implies a super major change in the EPF Act... by then, I am pretty sure the politicians would already remove the min 2.5% and may intro even more stuff that we commoners may not think of today.

btw, this is my stupid what-if crap... most probably will never ever happen.
*
QUOTE(romuluz777 @ Mar 6 2024, 03:31 PM)
That would be an extremely unpopular move and highly unlikely to happen.

Our gov already kowtow EPF withdraw and make Acct 3. No way they will follow SG, sure that group of people will riot already.

the riot only works if a certain majority group goes down and make noise... people like you and me... you know, the SAVERS pretending to be B40, won't have much impact...

cos it is always acceptable to penalize the savers....
*
What i meant is aaccount locking. SG lock their account right? Can't withdraw one shot? I am not very sure.

no, just about 20%

With the 1st withdrawal done (55yo), subsequent withdrawal can be done via online right?

We should provide feedback via the EPF CS channels that the Acct 3 should be made optional with those not wanting it, can apply to opt out.
I think its safe to say, majority of members in this channel do not want it or need it.

This kind of news usually being treated as bullshit by FB's Chinese users, most of them don't believe an employee could save up to 1mil even at 55yo not to say 45yo. Like what i said before, people who get 4k salary will not believe someone they know could get 6k, those who get 6k won't believe people can get 10k, and so on... they all living in their own world with narrow views of the world.
*
Here. I made another spreadsheet. But i think need to start at 7k salary for 20 years, with assumption 5% increment to make RM 1mil.

Of course i no count bonus, you can enhance it if you want. Ignore the other sheet about diminishing withdrawals i made earlier.

Don't think too much like this... just continue save in EPF... one day the money grow and you will be surprised. In 37 years and if you continue working and doing well with increment etc... plus compounding effect... what you have in epf will still be useful to you...
Yes... luckily i never hear my friend or colleague advise last time.. say epf will collapse... quickly take out money..

This one kopitiam aunty and unker saying this when i was 20 years old. Now their children brainwashed by their parents sitting in kopitiam saying same thing.... laugh.gif

Malaysia won't go bankrupt. Gov has very little foreign debt.

So saying Malaysia going bankrupt has same logic as epf will go bankrupt.

But ringgit value on the other hand ...😰

Same as bankrupt as our savings in RM became toilet paper.

Bean sprout the stupidest thing you can order. Last time it's like 50 cents whole packet, now maybe RM1-RM2. Paying RM15 for a plate of beansprout is really a rip off beyond words. Which is why i never order beansprout, better order some leafy vege.

QUOTE(plc255 @ Mar 8 2024, 10:32 AM)

In fact EPF fund size can own 10x of the entire 100% of MAYBANK. BUT there is no 10 such bank of such size in Malaysia.

This is still the principal argument that a portion of EPF fund should stay invested overseas, cos there is bigger animal overseas for EPF to own.
*
Definitely. RM 1.1 trillion is only USD200B++. NVIDIA Alone is now USD1.7 trillion i think.

Should invest 70% overseas, then surely returns can go above 10%.

yes . i support
why  want to throw away your money overseas if  your children can
get the course they wanted in local U..

Overseas degree very good meh? i dont belip.
i heard many  , my neighbours  father kaya raya, all sent overseas
come back also not working. no job or too qualified?

but if  they cannot get the course they want, Local U offered them unwanted courses
or want to send your kid to lousy no name U,
then no choice lor,
father  mother have to take out coffin money  ....kesian
*
if parents too rich, oklah. RM1mil like loose change. Throw away RM1 mil let kids have fun overseas. I look at it, study overseas if you intend to migrate, maybe you can get use to the new country and pave your way to get a job there to start. Else no point...better save that RM1 mil, give kid to invest and get a head start in life.

Even my friend last time he went overseas, he also says no different...lol.

QUOTE(Rinth @ Mar 16 2024, 01:39 PM)
Both of my kid are still below primary school age.. By the time they go uni, im not sure whether I willing to fork out millions for them to study, and  whether they can even earn back the millions, many just study then work non related job of what they study… 1 million 5% is 50k, maybe it’s small amount in 15 years time but I guess still can provide them with basic necessities, and they should just go local uni and I’ll safe the million for their future usage hahaha.
*
Agree with ya.
