Rafizi is right. Self cooking really save a lot. I bring own food to office for breakfast and lunch saved me at least min 500/month...and it doenst take much time to prepare the food........... Provided if u have a good wife.. lolz..
*
Yep, Malaysians are spoilt and lazy. Looking at all the backlashes to Rafizi's post. Can see these type of people. Utterly useless. Just need a little effort and planning. Cook in batches if needed and freeze it.

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Oct 7 2023, 05:47 PM)
Biggest problem is don't know how to cook...

Princess attitude especially current generation one.... too pampered...

Lucky if the husband can cook himself... consider very good advantage already 🔥💪
*
Cooking is F**king easy. The hardest part of cooking is thinking what to cook, the preparation and the dish washing part. There is really no reason not learn how to cook. Internet got everything. I can fix a 40 years old computer with research and play piano by watching Youtube. The only excuse you can say is you don't have enough time to learn everything.

not wishing property prices to crash here, but imagine if BNM allowed OPR to go up and our mortgage rate jump to 7 or 8%.... lagi headache here...

forgot to add that at least our ringgit would not be this weak.
*
US is still projected to go up next year....BNM can't hold on forever. Maybe pause for rest of this year only.

More weird suggestions comes up... got me thinking... what the future gonna be for EPF

Earlier it's the special withdraw thingy.... if the other side comes into power (not very long I guess looking at yesterday pelangai elections results)......

Then u got some "smart a$$" saying 70% local allocation

Now this tax thingy....

Later what???  Tier dividends for EPF members??? Bonus for those have less $$$ in EPF??
*
No dividends for those who have RM 1 mil and above in EPF. And not allow to withdraw if you have over RM1 million. Hahaha. Let turn this into Taliban State.

no lar....

it should be anyone with more than RM 240K, dividend will still be given but government autotax 90% of said dividend...

because anything above 240K rm means one's retirement is secure right?  tongue.gif
*
Wah...unker don't like that ah...RM1 mil also not enough, RM240K can go 14th floor already.

To be able to invest in SG properties does not mean you are rich. T20 is not rich. t1 is rich.
To have MYR 5mil means nothing in the context of investing in SG properties. It's a measly SGD 1.44 mil.  biggrin.gif
*
Exactly, Malaysians are so poorfag thinking a few million RM is rich. We are just B40 by Global Standards.

if you have RM2.2m you are top 1 percent in Msia.

in spore if you have sing dollar 4.75m you are top 1 percent in spore.

note the vast difference.
*
Top 1% in Malaysia means shit, which was what i was trying to say. Because the standard is so farking low.

Try comparing the top 1% with the Top 0.1% in Malaysia.

2.2m, you are still stuck in Malaysia, can't have a decent life elsewhere. So it's useless.

SGD 4.75m, now we are talking, at least it can get you a decent property in some 1st world country and live a decent retirement life (not too lavish either) of your choice.

If fully withdraw and close account now, there won't be any interest given for Jan-Oct, right? Or will at least give the guaranteed 2.5%?
*
Not sure. But unlikely. Better ask EPF directly. Maybe can leave like RM1k inside and you might still get pro rated rates for the year. And no, no such thing as 2.5%. That guaranteed is for the minimum rates only.

So for death withdrawal it's better to submit the application next year, if not urgently need the money...
*
Yep, where else can you get better rates? Unless you have sure win can get 6% or more. Just keep the money after dividend has been bank in.

logically yes... like you said, already flexible... but if put lower div like -2% or -3%, most probably people will just take it out right?
then whats the point of creating this flexible account? may as well just lower the employee mandatory contribution rate from 11% to 9%?

that's why some of us assume the div will be higher.... else that account will most probably be empty most of the time (using the reasoning above).
*
Cannot. No matter how much lower. Also got people want to take money from EPF. So instead, we have this Account to keep these people quiet. Maybe for people who don't want this, can opt out of this and get high dividend in Akaun 1 and 2?

haha.... understand what you mean.... this is really gov creating work for no reason except for optics and keep those simple minded people quiet...  can hire more people cos of the extra work, and same time looks like gov is prihatin... while the problem of retirees running out of money remains.  bangwall.gif

Actually what to do. This is actually good solution. Let em sohai mampus. Adakah ku kesah.
