QUOTE(zacknistelrooy @ Oct 21 2016, 03:10 AM) Thanks.AA Scary reading this, partly due to my ignorance of the subject. What is " to help protect against volatilities in foreign currency and exchange rates"? How does it help to protect? BB Did a quick review on EPF a few weeks ago. See below. The red and green lines are the average +/- 1 std deviation lines. A guide where about 66% of the data should be. If above the red line, good news! If below the green line, gloomy news in coming EPF yearly announcement! Ha. My gut feel is 5.7-6% for 2016. |

Not long ago, the current KWSP CEO Sharil said that the dividend rate will be benchmarked as Kadar Inflasi + 2%.
Recently, our government announced that the current national inflation is 2%. So, based on the above, we expect the Dividend yield to be 2+2 = 4% Xuzen This post has been edited by xuzen: Oct 21 2016, 11:26 AM |

This thing abt borrowing from foreign banks is that if the exchange rate goes against us, we will have to service a higher interest expense, especially if the US starts to raise interest rate.
Dishing out a higher interest expense will reduce the distributable income for contributors. |

Based on the chart supplied by Plumberly,
the chart shows the revenue in 2016 has dropped to the level similar to 2012. If we look back at 2013 dividend rate, which is 6.35% and factoring an early election, the KWSP dividend rate for 2016 should be between 6.00 to 6.50%. My guess is as such. Xuzen |

Xuzen I don't think it is one to one correlation here. Even if we got the same revenue as in 2013, now they have a bigger capital base and then the dividend will be smaller. But I will always welcome a higher %! |

EPF confirms new end-financing scheme for members
QUOTE The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) confirms that it will introduce a new end-financing scheme for members that meet the 1Malaysia People's Housing Scheme’s (PR1MA) eligibility criteria. In a statement on Friday, EPF said it was working with PR1MA, Bank Negara Malaysia and the participating banks to finalise the implementation details. http://www.thestar.com.my/news/nation/2016...me-for-members/ |

EPF: No Change To Age 55 Withdrawal, And Introducing Akaun Emas For Age 60 Withdrawal
KUALA LUMPUR, 3 November 2016: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) today announced that effective 1 January 2017, Akaun Emas will be introduced as a second retirement nest egg for members working beyond age 55. There is no change to the current Age 55 Withdrawal. The Akaun Emas is one of the initiatives under the enhancement to the EPF schemes as set out under the EPF Act 1991 where all new contributions received after age 55 will be automatically parked under Akaun Emas and can only be withdrawn when members reach age 60. This is to ensure the sufficiency of members’ retirement savings upon reaching age 60. Read more... |

Need advise on one question.
Im working fulltime and would like to contribute more than the 11% currently. Should I ask my employer to do the extra deduction from my salary (which I know they wont do cos my HR is a bitch) or am I allowed to contribute myself monthly via auto debit from bank? If pay ownself every month, do I need to inform them or fill up any form? Thank you. |

If the annual dividend is less than RM1,500.00, the annual dividend application will be automatically cancelled *************************************** They transfer on the 25th of every month. Lugi mah, interest is calculated on the lowest monthly balance. Will be better if they allow us to specify the withdrawal date. 1st of every month will be the best for us to minimise dividend lost. |
