QUOTE(cxbiuan @ Nov 25 2015, 09:57 AM) Wondering how I can opt out money to buy property from EPF? did they limited to new or 2nd property only? Do double check I heard you can only withdraw for one property at a time. Meaning if you have withdrawn previously for a property, that property has to be fully paid (bank loans) before you can apply to withdraw for another property. Previously this was not the case.

QUOTE(plumberly @ Aug 11 2016, 09:52 AM) Interesting. But to me, 41k out of x million is still a small no. Less than 0.01%. How much is that 41K accounts in terms of RM? They are aiming for RM100 billion, right? Using an average RM167K per account, 41,000*167,000 = RM7 billion. My apology to those with 10* 167K per account for stating the average as 167K! That RM amount is a better indication of the demand rather than just the number of accounts. My 2 cents. P/S My current plan is to stick to the original fund though I think the govt will try their best to make this 2nd fund looks look due to the religion connection. Just imagine, this fund gives a lower % than the original fund %. The new fund members will be crying and accusing the govt of betraying them, religion, etc etc. No offence intended here in speaking my mind. Agreed. Sometimes I wonder - if the 2nd fund performs well year after year beating 1st fund, what is stopping the 1st fund from investing in those invested by 2nd fund? To me, it should not outperform each other but compliment. I dont see one being much better off that the other. Perhaps only 0.5% diff.

Need advise on one question.
Im working fulltime and would like to contribute more than the 11% currently.
Should I ask my employer to do the extra deduction from my salary (which I know they wont do cos my HR is a bitch) or am I allowed to contribute myself monthly via auto debit from bank? If pay ownself every month, do I need to inform them or fill up any form?
Thank you.

I dont think they will break the 6%. Anything lower will be very negative perception of EPF. Many more will move out their funds to elsewhere as it will cause some panic. Hoping its nothing below 6%.

Computer also no money to buy .. its to do with people's purchasing power very low. Already so low, then savings also super low, then now go and kacau the savings some more.
Better use their otak to see how to increase peoples income better la, rather than spend now and decrease people's savings.

QUOTE(prophetjul @ Feb 2 2017, 09:33 AM) i am trying allocate portions. Not going to withdraw everything unless i migrate. My goal is look for yields of the following: a. min 6% b. equity risk 2% c. currency risk 1% d. other risk 1% Total 10% So i try to look for anything above 10% if possible for riskier assets Yeah I would continue keeping some in there unless I am leaving this country for good. No hurry in withdrawing in 3 months .. just scout for better options before withdrawing anything. I would be in a similar dilemma if the time comes for me to withdraw all. Those not at that age, cant wait to withdraw but when you are really at that age, dunno what to do with it pulak. At least for me .. haha.

QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 16 2017, 04:34 PM) A thought (some may say it is STUPID Ha) came to my mind some months ago, to open EPF accounts for my kids who are still schooling. Why? Dividend rate is better than the normal bank FD rate. Yes, money will be tied up till they retire (some in account 2 they can take out early). Check with EPF says those above 14 can open EPF ac (not working can also apply). Like to have your views. Thanks. A bit too far ahead cos need to wait till 50 yrs before you can withdraw something at least. Perhaps FD for now and if too safe, then UT? At least UT can withdraw anytime although a slightly long term investment period is preferred but the best is NO RESTRICTION if you ever wanna withdraw. I would not consider this if my kids are still schooling. SSPN is a better option for younger years.

Im also not happy at all with 5.7%. I think its too low for its earnings comparing previous year results and dividends paid. A fair number would have been 6% as we cannot expect a repeat of the 6.4% as well. Yep, Im not unhappy and Im not satisfied either.

QUOTE(cckkpr @ Feb 21 2017, 10:38 AM) Am happy with the EPF dividend. Extremely disappointed with the Public Mutual PRS....still negative returns. For every RM30k I put in, "they" took RM900. Should have put into EPF. Your PM PRS you put how much? 3k I suppose? Haiya its ok la.
