Sorry, fail in my communication again!

I meant Dec 2015!

What I was conveying was, with KLCI at about 1700 on 31 Dec, then performance of EPF for the year 2015 should not be that bad. Unless they want to keep some for carry forward to next year.

EPF last 9 months earning is better than same period previous year. With KLCI end close to 1700 at 31st Dec, this year dividend should be around 6.5%.

Even if earnings is better, they do not need to declare higher dividends. They may retain profits to cover a bad year or two. OR to cover Election years.

Read in one of the webs that Msians are demanding higher dividend rate from EPF in view of the rising costs, etc. Right or wrong is up to you.

One thing came to mind while reading that. What if EPF gives higher rates depending on age? The younger ones will protest! Ha.

If someone can give me EPF Q4 2015 revenue, I will do a quick calc on the expected 2015 dividend rate.

Thanks.

You mean tiered dividend?
For lower income group, they sure agree with this. But not for those are rich.

Why not?
Of course they will not announce that directly. EPF is just like any other biz entity.
Afterall they will have a column called cash. The extra profits can be channelled here. c

It is an investment fund.
They are allowed to liquidate or revalue their non cash assets anytime.
Profits can come from revaluation of assets. However, they don't need to monetise those assets immediately.

But they can still retain such profits as investment funds.
Likewise they can put their hand into this jar for dividends if need be.
Other words dividend declared does not necessarily equate profit for the year.
