epf investing in properties development.
battersea, bbcc, kwasaland. if all goes well, returns would be sustainable in the immediate future. beyond that, hhmmmm.... but pleasant surprise indeed. 6.75%. looking forward to 2015 results. |

"It also seeks to introduce a new section which states that no dividend shall be credited into the account of a member who is not a Malaysian if no contribution has been credited into his or her account over a period of three years."
interesting new section. so non Malaysian can also contribute to EPF? or are they referring to those who gave up their citizenship? |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 4 2016, 01:13 PM) Tabung Haji announces 6.25pct dividend, 5pct bonus key word respectable.Wah, they can still give so much when the reserve/book is in RED? What were their rates for the past 3 years? So 6.25% for EPF as well? Ha. P/S KUALA LUMPUR: The Employees Provident Fund (EPF) will declare a respectable rate on its dividends for 2015, says Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment) Mohamad Nasir Ab Latif. The announcement will be made after Chinese New Year, he told reporters at a media briefing here today. However, he was tight-lipped on the exact quantum. The EPF declared a higher dividend of 6.75 per cent for 2014, compared to the 6.35 per cent announced for 2013. – BERNAMA means not low but also not high? hehehe. maintain prediction @ 6.15%. |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Feb 14 2016, 07:32 PM) Sounds like they are really following what they said on after the CNY. hypothetically you can use past trends as avg for dividends moving forward. But 20 Feb = Sat. So? Yes, I am eager to know the %. Not that I want to use it now. Will be good to know if the rate is reasonably high to lay a bigger retirement foundation fund. P/S Just had a read on the Sun's article. MTUC thinks it will be on 20 Feb as MTUC will have a meeting with EPF on 19 Feb. I fail to see the logic flow on the dividend date. I think it will be announced on this Mon or Tues. PP/S In fact, a little bird told me it will be announced tomorrow. BUT please don't @#$%^&* me if tak betul. Ha. since every year % differs and fluctuates, what would be your basis to lay your 'bigger retirement foundation'. surely this year's announcement itself may not be conclusive for your decision. if it's high, you want to to increase permanently? what if next year's divvy dips? just wondering |

anybody can advise whether it's worth exploring withdrawing account 1 to dump into epf approved funds?
20% withdrawal every 3 months? and whether funds make or lose, the amount "withdrawal from fund" is credit back to account 1, right? |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Dec 20 2018, 12:33 PM) My annual visit to guesstimate the EPF % .... am i right to assume that even if they maintain same revenue as last year, the dividend declared would still be lower than last year due to the fact that:[attachmentid=10141464] Looks very good with the highest Q1-3 figures in 2018! Using past few years Q4 averages and std deviation, my guesstimates: zero Q4 6.6% average Q4 6.98% average Q4 +1 sd dev 7.12% Bear in mind this is based on just extrapolating the % based on the total yearly revenues. This is not 100% correct as the yearly principles are different and on the increase. Plus they may want to keep some bullets for the coming recession. Guess I will be happy if its 6.8% or higher. 1. enlarged pool of contributors and the fund size each year outnumbering the deceased withdrawing? |

QUOTE(nexona88 @ Dec 20 2018, 03:55 PM) yes.. boss is correct.. https://www.malaysiakini.com/news/441637y-o-y the size become bigger as more contributors into EPF... didn't think about this part.. thanks for reminding increased in contribution outnumbering the increase of withdrawal so net net still inflow more than outflow. performance need to be better than last year by approx 4% just to match last year declaration. |

QUOTE(Havoc Knightmare @ Feb 16 2019, 02:07 PM) It's not possible because the shariah universe of products is smaller than conventional. If there's a good shariah compliant stock, the conventional and shariah funds can buy in. But if there's a good stock that is not shariah compliant, only the conventional funds can buy in. Since the folks managing both funds are largely the same people, this is the inevitable outcome. At best both types perform equally. For prs fund. Some shariah fund outperforming conventional fund though. |

QUOTE(beLIEve @ Feb 3 2020, 03:54 AM) Total income for first 3 quarters of 2018 : 39.88b that's incorrect as:Total income for first 3 quarters of 2019 : 35.48b Assume Q4 also same (it should be better since trade war is over. didn't pay attn to KLSE. did it go up a lot in Q4?) Averaging Q4 with first 3 quarters, 35.48/39.88 x 6.15% = 5.47% So it should be somewhere around 5.47%, depending on how Q4 performed. 1. assuming inflow rate > outflow rate for contributors 2. cumulative quarters needs to be higher than previous based on capital size increased so the return of 35.48b is theoretically based on a higher capital compared to last year when they made 39.88 imho so technically it's lower than 5.47% for all things equal. |
