Manual focus to ∞ | f3.4 | 60"| ISO125 | Light painted the foreground with 1200lux LED light at the end of exposure.

60" was just too long as stars started to create trail. Since the weather back to cloudy, rainy and hazy there will be a very slim chance to do re shoot with different settings.

There has been a development recently (this month) in the superzoom section which are pretty impressive on paper.

I predict that it will be a 60X zoomer to compete with the Lumix, announcing in Sept and release before Xmas this year.

+Fast integer based trigonometric functions for Lua
+new editor for User Menu
+scripts can be added to the User Menu
+menu option to enable Lua native calls

Disappointed by heavy rain to witness Parsied meteor shower last nite, my nephews and nieces channelled their energy to something more fun at grandma's house!

And they're having a light painting blast!

I think this year not many people (dpreview & flickr) were lucky to get the shot of parseid meteor shower few nights back, and most photos only have one meteor instead of SHOWER of meteor. Spookwoman from flickr managed to get few shots with her SX50...

Some wild ducks (Mallards) shots I gotten from one of the ponds near my house. Lucky to see them. They breed there and comes every year. I caught two couples early in June and they have ducklings now in August. By the time I post this, they are gone. The last pic shows the ducklings on the left, about 10 of them. Some light PP done.

I know it's hard to shoot wildlife, by the time we're composing and testing few settings, they'll go away. I admire those people with great patience in flickr to shoot all these recently with their SX50 :-

If you are not in urgency better save money because Canon is announcing better superzoom next week with Digic 6 sensor (SX50 is Digic 5, SX500 only Digic 4).

Almost wanted to buy a SX50 last week, but the shop has no stock.
Maybe is good to wait for new model.

You know those engineers in Canon are great in optics and sensors, but usability is the least important in their design. So we have to get creative.

I think most cameras have problem with the battery accessibility when the tripod plate attached and someone in dpreview shows us how to overcome it though it may not works for all plates with different sizes.
