Hi all,

Anyone's got this model of camera yet? Just bought mine 2 weeks back. It would be great if the owners of this model could meetup and perhaps discuss methods to maximise use of this camera. smile.gif

LOL nobody in the whole photography community in Low Yat Network interested in this camera. How sad. i cant even find a single thread discussion in this forum in regard to this camera. i wonder why? izzit becoz this non interchangeable lens compact cam looks like their bulky dslr? or izzit becoz its price close to their "expensive" dslr or izzit because some of its capability almost or perhaps superceeding their precious dslr? or simply because it really blows every compact cameras in the market out of the water?

But who cares what they think, i'm not even interested in photography to begin with but i do interested in playing God to see what people are doing from very very far and that's why i bought this camera. Woot?

Anyway, since i have the privilege to have an amazing view around me of condos, apartments and hotels right from my balcony. This camera is just perfect for the aforementioned purpose. Woot Woot

i cant post nudity in photos or videos in this forums so i just post the recent 1080p videos i shot yesterday (yes the same day i received this camera from DHL)

Take a look, its built in image stabilization in video mode works like charm counteracted my shaky hands. (you dont have this feature in SX40)

Yesterday i received the cheaper alternative to the Eyefi card, the ezShare card and i can confirm it works on our SX50.

Advantage:

1. This is second generation wifi card with Class 10 specs. (it was Class 6 when they launched it last year) So it is as fast as the Eye-fi.
2. Price more than half cheaper than Eye-fi card. I bought this only RM136 compare to RM300 to RM350 Eyefi card
3. Easy to use - your camera turns itself as wifi hotspots and you can browse your photos & videos on your phone / pc or mac just by using the webbrowser. Type "ez" on the the address bar and it start displaying your pix and vids
4. It has special app (FREE) from Apps Store (IOS & Android) too to make it more easier.
5. Operation is simple, you can either download one or all. You can also set password of this hotspots and change its name.
6. It also come with 8GB storage and it also come in 8, 16, 32GB capacity which i think it's not necessary to have bigger than 8GB since the purpose of these wifi cards is to have infinite storage, unless you dont have IOS or Android devices for you to quickly transfer when you're on the go.
7. It has a small switch to on/off the sharing option below the card. It will be an advantage if it also on/off the wifi to safe the camera battery.

Disadvantage

1. When it becomes a hotspots, your iphone and mac also must switch to this hotspots to be able to operate. So no internet connection at that moment. I just wish this thing operate using bluetooth instead of wifi since bluetooth 4.0 is already fast.
2. The sharing sites on the Apps are all china based, i wish they change it to facebook, twitter, flickr, youtube, instagram etc in future app update. But you can always use your IOS device to share to those sites though after you have downloaded your photos or videos in your device. It's not really critical perhaps it's useless too since you cant connect to internet.
3. Video thumbnails only visible after you have downloaded it to your device. Hopefully they tweak this in future update by parsing the camera video thumbnail.

The brightness can be controlled and comes with battery and charger too. Suitable for making video at night or in dim room. The light can be mounted on the adjustable tripod. Can use umbrella or bounce to the ceiling for more natural light effect.

Recommended to independent low budget porn film maker. Can rest assure the quality of your porn with this video light coz 1200lux is very bright. No canon speedlite come this close, not with this price tag.

Ok Milky Way Galaxy just rose above the horizon at 12.45am just now and i just shot it with my cam right from my balcony. Look

Okok im kidding. With bright city light like that no way we can get the shot like that.

But i would like to call all astronomy enthusiast for a weekend getaway / camping at the most dark places in Penang away from man made lights to shoot the real deal of this Celestial Body, mother of all creation to all of us on earth and billions of other solar systems in the whole Galaxy. The Milky Way.

I read a guide somewhere that April is the right time to catch this when Scorpio / Sagittarius Constellation are in perfect alignment to our sky and there's no moon around to block the galaxy's light.

I think our DSLR-like camera has all the ability to produce nice shot of the galaxy.

So where? Gertak Sanggul, or Mukahead? Please suggest.

Right from my balcony at 6.30PM today and you can take picture while zooming too:-

Look what i picked up from Harvey Norman Sale last weekend?

Screw ball head ok you dont need it, this baby can pan and tilt smoothly for video and photo without even increase weight for carrying more heads

user posted imageuser posted image

It's reversible effortlessly and go barrel scrapping low suitable for SX50 0cm macro capability. We can see bacteria cells duplicating. Duh

user posted image

It can also go high

With so many 360 Angles

Manfrotto Photo-Video Kit MK394-H

Dropped from RM380 to RM306 @Harvey Norman and it's Manfrotto from Italy. You cannot get this low anywhere. I've searched the whole ebay.

Oh i forgot another thing, if you're so paranoid that this thing will topple over due its light weight you can add extra weight or counterweight for stability. Just hook it to the center column

Here some official videos for the product

This shot from this guy back in Nov 2012 using his SX50 really blows everything you thought you know about this camera. Without using any tripod point and shoot this video to the night sky in standard resolution and uploaded to youtube.

I linked directly the default photo from youtube as you can see from the above video without playing video it here :-

http://i3.ytimg.com/vi/aEawtWokSF0/maxresdefault.jpg

Then i cropped and readjusted the color for above photo and even with youtube compressed the video/image, the result is still mind blowing:-

Jupiter in full glory, the bands, the red great spot the size of earth and its moon Io, Europa and Ganymede (Calista is out of frame)

Haih I wish i can get this shot too in full resolution but Jupiter is way behind the sun now but saturn rises everynight. Only problem, penang is so cloudy and rainy now. It will be a groundbreaking discovery in the world of photography if i can get the shot of saturn with its ring and moon. Like Duh.

This camera is my first digital camera and i was having a hard time whether to buy a cheap entry level DSLR or this RM1899 bridge camera cause i've been reading that DSLR is a prehistoric giant in so many articles and forums. As a modern man like me, i never see my self carrying all these extra weight around just to take picture, either on vacation or casual outing.

And here's another article LOL

I'm actually quite interested in this camera. Can you show more pictures taken with it, macros and etc? Does it take good pictures under low light? What about fast movements like kids playing around?
