Yesterday i received the cheaper alternative to the Eyefi card, the ezShare card and i can confirm it works on our SX50.
Advantage:1. This is second generation wifi card with Class 10 specs. (it was Class 6 when they launched it last year) So it is as fast as the Eye-fi.
2. Price more than half cheaper than Eye-fi card. I bought this only RM136 compare to RM300 to RM350 Eyefi card
3. Easy to use - your camera turns itself as wifi hotspots and you can browse your photos & videos on your phone / pc or mac just by using the webbrowser. Type "ez" on the the address bar and it start displaying your pix and vids
4. It has special app (FREE) from Apps Store (IOS & Android) too to make it more easier.
5. Operation is simple, you can either download one or all. You can also set password of this hotspots and change its name.
6. It also come with 8GB storage and it also come in 8, 16, 32GB capacity which i think it's not necessary to have bigger than 8GB since the purpose of these wifi cards is to have infinite storage, unless you dont have IOS or Android devices for you to quickly transfer when you're on the go.
7. It has a small switch to on/off the sharing option below the card. It will be an advantage if it also on/off the wifi to safe the camera battery.
Disadvantage1. When it becomes a hotspots, your iphone and mac also must switch to this hotspots to be able to operate. So no internet connection at that moment. I just wish this thing operate using bluetooth instead of wifi since bluetooth 4.0 is already fast.
2. The sharing sites on the Apps are all china based, i wish they change it to facebook, twitter, flickr, youtube, instagram etc in future app update. But you can always use your IOS device to share to those sites though after you have downloaded your photos or videos in your device. It's not really critical perhaps it's useless too since you cant connect to internet.
3. Video thumbnails only visible after you have downloaded it to your device. Hopefully they tweak this in future update by parsing the camera video thumbnail.
