QUOTE(brotan @ Feb 7 2013, 10:30 AM) hi bro Been reading few pages back but I could not agree with water thingy. This is a bit off topic.let me give you simple illustration water flowing through bigger diameter pipes will be faster than small diameter ones right? if you have a water pump, pumping water through a long pipe. And that pipe has different diameters from start till end where the water flows out. the final water flow rate will be determined by the smallest diameter in the entire pipe because it is the bottleneck of the entire system imagine now water = current pipe = cable your cable has many parts. the long cable itself. the connector to the USB port. the connector to the micro USB port all these build up the entire cable "system". as shown in the above water example, as long as 1 of the part is not in optimum condition, it will drag the entire system down as to your experiment, yes you try to use the same setup as close as possible but once you unplug and plug in again, you already change the settings a bit, so can affect the final current just one thing to note even those ori cable that can achieve 1800 constantly will also have this problem (unplug and after some time plug again will have different readings) but in my opinion, i think the ori cable has a higher current carrying capacity than 1800, so you can't see the difference. but those not so optimum cables because it can't reach the max of 1800, any slight change, you see it Example (assuming charger can reach 3A max current If ori cable max current carrying capacity = 2300ma, when you plug and unplug it will varies between 2000ma to 2300ma. However because Note2 allows only max 1800ma, you can't see the change If non optimum cable max current carrying capacity = 1500ma, when you plug and unplug it will varies between 1200ma to 1500ma. But now you can see the change because it is below the max Note2 allowed current Hope it make sense NOTE : This is my theory only hah. I didn't do any scientific experiments to prove it If I remembered correctly, water that flows in a bigger diameter pipe will flow in a lower speed and high temperature because of the high pressure and vice versa. Another simple example, place your hand in front of your mouth and breathe out with a wide mouth open. You get low speed and warm blow of air. You do it with a small mouth open and you will get the opposite reaction. This is bernoulli's principle. |

It seems that most note 2 users here have rooted their note 2..
Anyway, I would like to share about how to read ntfs format on the 1Tb or any other hard drives. I guess it will work on most portable hard drives. I am using 1TB Seagate, I guess Western Digital could work too.. Anyway, for those of you who have non-rooted note 2, and want to read files, play movies directly from your hard drives, I found two ways that worked perfectly for me. First step: Get or buy a OTG cable. Second step: Download Nexus Media Importer from Android Market. Just plug in your hard drive and the app will auto detect it, and automatically reads all the files.. It's just amazing. I was looking for answers fro such a long time, and I hope for those who had not found a way yet, this would help you. Thank you for your attention and good luck. |

QUOTE(brotan @ Feb 8 2013, 10:32 AM) on side note, any idea why HTC & Nokia is going into built in battery system like iphone? Well , if it's like Motorola Razr case , warranty is as long the phone , not the usual 6 months for battery and charger since it's built in . Other then that , try getting a bootloop . Where for removable battery , u can just remove the battery and restart the phone , these phones , u have to let your battery die off on it's on , charge it and boot again into recovery or bootloader , whichever u want . Took me almost 48 hours for Xperia ION .any advantage (from user's perspective)? |

QUOTE(sacremento @ Feb 8 2013, 09:17 PM) Been reading few pages back but I could not agree with water thingy. This is a bit off topic. Yes. Fluid flow and electricity flow is different. Thicker cable can transfer electricity faster but bigger pipe will reduce fluid velocity. If I remembered correctly, water that flows in a bigger diameter pipe will flow in a lower speed and high temperature because of the high pressure and vice versa. QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Feb 8 2013, 09:39 PM) First device gets stuck at 1.6ghz. Then gave me some issue with my proximity and light sensor. So i flash back to redpill to reconfirm if my device have any hardware issue. Turns out it is fine so just lazy to flash back neak. Redpill for me is smoother. This version of redpill (1.30) is really smooth and stable and is a keeper. This post has been edited by antt00: Feb 8 2013, 10:04 PM |

So, did everyone here get their Note 2 from the local telcos, or are there better deals to be found elsewhere in the world?
