Great multitasking phone.. Compared with the vanilla Android experience on Nexus 4, i think Samsung is doing a great job giving the additional goodies!

guys, i hope i in a right thread regarding my problem.
i hope you guys can help me or giving me some feedback.
i signed note 2 plan @ surfmore 50 on 31/1/2013.
once i signed i get 1.8gb on my data plan.
i received a msg from maxis on 7/2/2013 regarding about my data plan. it said my previous limit is 462.5mb, current usage is 174mb and balance is 288.5mb.
on 8/2/2013, i received again from maxis. it said my limit is 1321.3mb, current usage is 13.6mb and balance is 1307.7mb.
how they calculated my usage? i on my data less than 2hours everyday and no downloading. how come they minus so many mb?
and my area kamunting @ perak, it show EDGE only all the time and couldnt let me do browser/connect. but the problem is there is a maxis centre within my area, about 1km. i thought it should be no problem about the signal/connection since the centre is near?
so basically i need some feedback is how they calculate my usage and the connection problem. anyone can help me? i call 123 b4, they told me to wait till the bill come and call 123 back ask them to check my usage per day, i tried to ask them but they like not helping me at all.

I thought the surfmore 50 plans include 2GB data and not 1.8GB.
The first month would probably be a prorated figures of your dataplan therefore the charges are also prorated.
If I'm not mistaken, Maxis usually have 2 different billing dates only, either early of the month or middle of the month somewhere on 16th or 17th.

Were you watching YouTube for that 2 hours?

I doubt anyone here have the qualification to give u a right answer to your question as it's Telco related and I don't recall anyone here work for MAXIS .
Phone wise , if you turn on your auto sync like Google account there's bound to be some usage even if u don't do any surfing or any other web related apps . For example , Google contact which sync on it's on if u update a contact .

All telcos have dates called "Bill Cycle", specified at various dates throughout the month. You got a prorated reading based on your assigned bill cycle date. You can ask the center to check what is your bill cycle date or call 123 they should also be able to tell you. That is why you are getting those figures.

You can very simply check your usage by dialing this: *136*9*1# - this is a shortcut to the menu item that returns your data usage so far. This code applies only for Maxis. For Celcom you need to send an SMS with the words "VOL STATUS" to 22188. I don't know about Digi.

Dunno if you guys felt the same but the only let down for my note 2 is the screen under direct sunlight..its like reading quantum physics where I know there should be words on the fella..but minimal comprehension is emphasize..damn near impossible to read..how do you guys go about it?..I asked my fiancee who's using Galaxy S..she said her screen ain't so..so must not be cause of AMOLED screen right? or is it?

tried maxing out the brightness..turn on auto..but to no avail....didn't realize I bought an Edward Cullen..

Superman7 is right. I also wonder why in the heck would anyone want to sit under the hot sun and read? I mean, all the reviews of any kind of device (phones, notebooks) will always have a short paragraph on readability in direct sunlight, and so far the only screen that addresses this properly is from Pixel Qi, who make custom DIY replacement screens for notebooks.

Still, I personally feel that one should not be complaining about reading in sunlight. What's the difficulty in shading the screen with your palm?

from a guy who previously owned a qwerty phone..if not mistaken hers is readable..but mine..I can't even tell my screen has been unlocked (today after my friday prayers-2pm)..or maybe its just me..if later is the case then I guess I have to learn to avoid sunlight la then.. ;p

Well I was trying to check if I have received any incoming messages cause it was quite a far walk to my car from the masjid..not that I intentionally stand under direct sunlight to test it..just an enquiry bro..not complaining..

*I brought this up cause my previous phone (a dinosaur Blackberry) wouldn't have problem reading under direct sunlight..and I'm quite new to touchscreen experience..so I beg to differ on your statement that any kind of devices won't be readable under the same circumstances..maybe have to rephrase to any kind of touchscreen devices kot..

tried shading the screen with my palms..ain't seeing sh*t...

IP address is determined by ISP, I would say 90% of the cases in Malaysia is dynamic IP means it changes every time it is disconnected.

Unless u subscribed the business package from TM..or if u hack and hold the IP..not condoning the latter..
