So far nothing announced during the recent Google I/O.

If you are going to wait....there's no telling how long you're gonna have to wait.

If you need something now, I'd say go ahead and get one to use it right away. New models will keep coming out once every year some devices even twice a year, there's really no end to waiting, you'll end up with nothing if you keep waiting.

With technology ever changing, just get whatever you fancy that's within your budget.

been an Android user since Nexus 1. Never seen the need of a tablet but decided to bite the bullet since it's so popular to see what's to interesting about it. are the roms and kernels worth rooting?

I have used both n my choice on N7 mainly because its WiFi n resolution is very much better than ipad. 80% my usage on internet stuffs n reading ebooks. If you are into gaming the ipad has more varieties n choices. Both are different OS n your choice also need consider their differences n your specific needs
Files management on iPad is poor vs N7. Even with JB the best file explorer app cannot match any android file explorer app. You need iTunes to manage it better

Depend on what you used the tablet for

As for me ( zero gaming) the ipad mini can last longer by at least an hour+ up to 2 hours maximum. Standby mode ipad mini more superior as battery levels hardly dip

same, I'm thinking on whether to get N7 or ipad mini. Use it for almost everything (reading, movies, gaming, surfing net, fb). I'm a pro-android user, sometimes I probably will use it for dev purpose. But somehow the lack of quality apps really holds me back and I already have a few diff android phone. @@ tough choice

IIRC, Apple has better apps in general, especially "Tablet apps"

For those deciding on ipad mini and those complaining of its low resolution....the ipad mini 2 most probably with retina display should be coming out end of the year maybe November.

Watch out for next week's WWDC announcement by Apple.

don't know about tablet optimized apps but i'd still go for N7 because
1. Screen resolution. This'll make a difference between a relaxed eye and sore eye while reading, browsing the web and watch movie.

2. Being a previous android user. I've bought apps from play store, and I'm not gonna buy the same app for the 2nd time.

3. gaming. 7" is just right for me. playing dead trigger where the finger need to be able to travel across the screen, and tilting the device while playing real racing 3.

but, if you're gonna play with AR or take photo with your tablet, take the ipad mini then.

Some source is saying ipad mini 2 wont be lauching so soon as it'll hurt ipad 5 sales. It probably might be early next year. I doubt WWDC will launch any ipad this time. @@

Hmm...will it lag when running games? Not gonna take photo with tablets, it looks silly, and I have a HTC one x. Sounds tempting now thumbup.gif
