On battery consumption of my Nexus 7C, is this normal?

My Nexus was charged for whole night till around 8am when I disconnect it from the charger. It has 100% charge status.

Subsequently I never use it....WIFI, 3G Cellular was not ON at all. By evening around 6pm, the battery is left with 88%.

Does the battery drop like that even without use? Is it due to Location services which is left ON?

By the way, this Nillkin brand got 3 different folio cases but very similar.
The one i bought from eBay S$21.70 is so called ULTRATHIN version. Not sure how thin is it compare to the other 2.
So far the seller in LYN selling not the slim version right? Or maybe i overlook.

You can also read the specification here also: http://www.nillkin.com/english/product.asp...d=2&sid=0&tid=0

I am using the one on the far right of your pic....so far happy with it...nice quality, nice leather feel though its not really real leather...but real enough..

only thing is I can't get it to stand properly with the flips folded into triangular. it's just too light a weight to lean on the cover...and the cover surface being smooth to the touch...do not have enough friction to stay in shape.

so take note...don't expect the stand function to work properly...i think this applies to all 3 types.

I think the design comes from the essence of a light massed protective cover with a cover-cum-stand for movie/picture viewing. It was never meant to type on unless you're angling it at 30 degrees

edited. Apologies. I misunderstood the first read. My sister is having the exact casing and it seems to hold just fine. Previously I used the Tri-candy series which carries the same design form also performed admirably. I suspect there's some magnets on the case to help it stay in shape.
*
Hrm maybe the leather version is too think for the magnets to stick..its rather weak for mine..

guys how is the battery life of the nexus 7c with H+ ?
*
From my experience, if ur cellular and location services (gps) is ON....even full day you never use your device....from 8am fully charged, to midnight, you will lose at least almost 30% battery.

Papago M11 also works well on N7 all the way to Android 4.2.2

*Getting casing so i think i wont feel anything soon*xDDD

Gonna feel it too even thru the case....

I usually put it down a tiled or marble floor after playing or during charging...d cool flooring will provide some cooling for the device....prolong d battery lifespan.

hello, anybody have change their n7 screen? my friend crack her screen and wants to replace screen...TQ
*
At page 63 of this thread, benny888 replied that someone changed the screen for RM400+ Which is quite cheap...a Samsung Note 1 screen costs RM700.

How did the screen cracked? Dropped the device or something?

yes, dropped the device..pity her

I see...well I think it's best to go to ASUS service centre for the job. Doing it elsewhere might void the warranty (if it's still under). And also, there's no telling how competent/professional the 3rd party repairer u sent it to. hmm.gif

I bought my Nexus 7 on 31/12/12, the speaker blown after 2 days so I took it for one-to-one exchange with the dealer, but the speaker blown again after a weeks even though I kept nexus 7 in silent mode and avoid using the speaker. Called Asus SC but no one answer, facebook them but nobody replies, disappointed

That sounds like the nexus is really quality issue....makes me worry about my unit......is yours Nexus 7 or 7C (with cellular)??

Afraid u got to visit ASUS service centre already.

Thank you for your sound opinion.  The lack of back cam in N7 doesnt bother me much cause i dont take pictures much.  However, with better specs + Key Lime Pie, I think I will wait for nexus 7.7 (albeit as someone else in forum said the N7.7 will be more expensive compared to N7).  just gotta fight the urge!!!

By the way anyone know the price of N7 32 GB Wifi only?  where to buy is best? a friend suggested ALLIT in Lowyat.

Thanks
*
The only possible disadvantage to wait for the N7.7 are the following :

1. Screen size being 7.7 will consume more power...if the battery capacity remains, expect usage time to decrease.

2. Not sure about the resolution for the 7.7", if its a different resolution, then application compatibility also gonna have issue. Physical size of the device also requires consideration...N7 can fit nicely on single hand/palm by grabbing d corners. Not sure if 7.7 I can still do that. I also attach the device on my car dash...7" feels just nice...I know my car's spot won't fit a 7.7" coz my current N7 already fits snugly.

3. Newer android OS means another round of headache with app compatibility...now many apps are just getting updated to run on 4.2.2....later 5.0 released, another round of it...means some apps you won't be able to use till the app maker come up with an update. One example is Papago M9 supports till 4.1 only. And they have no plans to make it run on 4.2 and above....for 4.2 and above, you have to buy Papago M11

Just my 2 cents.

Hey everyone! Just a few help needed here. I realized there's a crack on my Nexus 7 screen this morning. I guess it was from the weight pressure i had on it with all my books without realizing sad.gif Now half of my screen isn't functioning but the other half still is. Where do I go to if I wanna replace the screen or something?

Best bring it to ASUS service centre for the job....check their website for the nearest one in your area....

I am trying out U Mobile's UMI18 which is prepaid. RM18 a month for 250Mb of Data after which it'll be throttled. Usage is unlimited tough. And it comes with free 25 mins talk time and 25 free sms, both to any mobile telco.

It's the cheapest if you're just using data occasionally.

And if you enable "Data Roaming" in your tablet device. U Mobile will roam from Maxis whenever U mobile does not have data coverage there.

Any idea where can i get a replacement battery of Asus Nexus 7 ? My Nexus 7 just went dead like that leaving in a dry box for 3 weeks straight, i came back i can't turn it on and i had a dim black screen all the way when i plugged in to wall charger. Then i decided to tear down the device to detach the battery, using a voltmeter and measure the battery itself is less than 1.0V or at most till 1.2, it's range between 1.2volt-0.2vot. I thought it suppose to be 3.75V+, i actually tried full charge it for a day but the issue remains the same.

So conclusion, Any idea where can i get a replacement battery for my device ?

Try to cpr the battery with a 12v or something...it sometimes can come back alive.

It was fully charged b4 i keep it in the drawer. My Cellular, Wifi, Location Services (GPS) all was OFF b4 I keep it...how come battery can go to zero in just 3 days of non usage?

Anyone came across such experience b4?
