City got a cheap one too call bayview or something, but kind of pointless to goto langkawi and stay in the city instead of beachside.

Choose within your budget... . Food, if you want cheap, the hawker centre at Jetty Point near Dataran Lang is cheap/reasonable. The coffee shop opposite coco valley (rootian at nite) is also reasonable and edible. Western, at Langkawi Mall... Syook.. I think... reasonable western bout 10/= per meal excl drinks.

As long as you avoid Pantai Tengah/Cenang restaurants.. . Lighthouse restaurant will also "lighten" your pocket...

Hotels... budget I think Hotel Lang in Kuah looks ok... if got more for budget, go for some nice ones in Tengah/Cenang. Holiday Inn, Lanai looks to give decent privacy. Budget ones there Malaibest, AB Motel... geez.. my memory is failing me.. .

Yes, it is all depends on your budget since the price will range from 100+ to 7000+ per night.
You got to think whether you will stay at hotel or go out a lot,

Wah sis, U drive damn fast-lah can reach Kuah from airport within 15min...btw airport to Kuah is about 17km away i.e if 15min u must be driving >100km/hr on langkawi narrow road...

Rm150-300... can get nice hotels.. . Go for the ones at Tengah/ Cenang stretch...

stimix, now got dual carriageway ma.. wider.. can speed liao.. kekekeke.. but still 15mins... phuiyo...

I tot the dial carriageway is only from the airport till the junction of Jln Pdg Mat Sirat...huh din know the completed the dual carriagway up to Kuah town oledi.... ...Anyway 15min to Kuah really hv to salute the lady driver.. ..My wife always complain as it took so long going to the Town from Pantai Cenang area!! ..Infact >30min journey! (about 20KM Cenang to Kuah)

Yeah.. its completed.. Cenang to Kuah... not too bad la.. its under 30 mins la... funny... stay in Cenang but decide to go to Kuah everyday... must be the women folk.. hypnotize us to go shopping... .

staying in mutiara burau bay....210+ per nite(max 2 ppl per room) if i am not mistaken...

U can get the most detail map of langkawi by joining as a member of www.malsingmaps.com But u need to read their Help/Wiki first on how to view the map using special software.

hey guys, me and my friends (10 ppl) will going langkawi this 30th(night), reach there 31/8 and will be back 2/9.

We will be staying at Century Suria near Kuah town.

So,

1. what is the rate of renting a car/van during peek?
2. which one is more advisable? renting a car or van?
3. where got nice + affordable foods to eat? (cuz our main objective is eat delicious and cheap food)
