QUOTE(flamestudio @ Apr 10 2015, 11:10 AM) Seems like a direct competitor to the Nikon D5500. Would anyone upgrade their current K-5, K-5 II/s or K-30 for this? Seems like with the non AA filter and the 20MP sensor, should be able to produce image better than the K-5 IIs in terms of resolution and K-3 in terms of high ISO noise performance. But for me now, I would not be interested at current Pentax camera unless it has a 36MP non AA filter Full Frame sensor with SR or a cheap small mirror less M43 size sensor with selfie screen. Cheers....... So you are checking out the FF coming end of this year?

And I really doubt it will be out anywhere near end of this year. Even if they do, will really need to see how good are the specs. By that time, a Nikon D800e or even a D810 should be in a very good price. Not sure. Lets see........ What about you?

QUOTE(craxors @ Apr 15 2015, 10:44 AM) but k3 still pawned them in image quality. Hi bro craxors I am not too sure about that. I hope someone could really do a real test and confirm it. But I guess in studio situation with lowest base ISO, I guess the D800e or the D810 would beat the K-3. In high ISO, not sure. But from the naked eyes, at high ISO like 3200 or so, I am so sorry to say that even a D610 is sharpen. I don't know why, but somehow I still think the 16MP sensor from the K-5IIs is still a bit more refine than the K-3. But as far as low light AF without the AF assist light is concern, the K-3 beats the D610 and possibly the D800 hands down. More hard working and more precise. While the D610 simply gives up. With AF lights, different story. Kudos to the Pentax K-3......

Still sticking to my K-5. It's a very good DSLR for me. The ever need for upgrade previously to K-5 was the sub-par AF system of the K200D's.

its interesting that they quote; "The Pentax K-3 II debuts an innovative feature called the Pixel-Shifting Resolution System, a type of super-resolution technology that increases the effective level of detail in images without requiring a higher sensor resolution.
Ultimately, we expect the K-3 II to be able to deliver noticeably more detailed landscape or cityscape images than the K-3 with a lower susceptibility to moire, noise, and edge artifacts. If this system could evolve to work off a tripod in the future, it would be a very significant technological advancement for Pentax!"- without requiring a higher sensor resolution - more detailed landscape or cityscape - lower susceptibility to moire, noise, and edge artifacts - If this system could evolve to work off a tripod in the future meaning right now, this tech is only work when the cam is on tripod?
