Yeah. But if they want to compete with Sony a7,then they should price it around 5k. If it's more expensive, people might think that it's better to add a little more and get canikon ff.

I wish they can maintain it at that price. But from the look of it, with the new production line cost, new parts development cost, and also the weakening MYR, could be a hard one. Take the K-S2 for instance. USD 800? Hmm hmm.gif How much does a K-3 cause now a day?

I think it should be at a sub USD 2099 ish. Somewhere like the D750. And probably the price will maintain unlike the D750 which the price is being nuked due to competitive seller here. But who knows......

Continue to surprise us Pentax....... rclxms.gif rclxms.gif rclxms.gif :

i think 800usd is quite ok for k-s2, with k50 price around 800usd too when it first launched. and looking at the features, k-s2 has better features than k50. so in terms of price point, pentax is doing alright with k-s2. not sure about the FF as it is something totally new and without comparison with previous pentax dslr.

Hello,

is there any where I can send my camera for repair? (around Subang/PJ area) .. my auto focus doesn't seem to work and I can't change the aperture settings. Not sure what happened.

On the side note, would you guys recommend getting the QS1 ? I've been using my K100D for many years now, thinking of giving the mirrorless a try, since it's easier to bring around for travelling and pentax2u has a March sale for that right now..

Thanks in advance, Cheers!

You can contact DSC World. They can help in repairing your K100D. I used to have K100D Super, great camera. ☺

Buying that QS1 with that promo price is certainly recommended. Just go and get it. 😀

Thanks for the info, already sent them inquiry smile.gif

Was searching around the web about the QS1, seems like mixed reviews, some ok, some mediocre. Wonder if it's worth the money? hmm.gif

Frankly, with the discounted price, I am sure it is worth the money. With its normal RRP, maybe not so.

None. If you want to protect the lens, get and use a lens hood. Filters will quite noticeably degrade image quality, unless you spend so much on it that you might as well get a new lens. And even then no filter would be better.

Seems like a direct competitor to the Nikon D5500. hmm.gif

Would anyone upgrade their current K-5, K-5 II/s or K-30 for this? Seems like with the non AA filter and the 20MP sensor, should be able to produce image better than the K-5 IIs in terms of resolution and K-3 in terms of high ISO noise performance.

But for me now, I would not be interested at current Pentax camera unless it has a 36MP non AA filter Full Frame sensor with SR or a cheap small mirror less M43 size sensor with selfie screen. laugh.gif laugh.gif

Cheers.......

I guess is just a minor sacrifice to make the lens more compact when not in use. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

But I guess it will be a nuisance when you have to always remember to unlock the lens first then only shoot. Not really sure about this. But I remember playing with a Nikon dunno what in Time Square and I can't figure out how to unlock the lens and I came to a conclusion that, oh well, is spoiled and put it back. Maybe I am just too dumb... Haha.... laugh.gif laugh.gif

Maybe in future you will have bunch of these lens for sale when people starts to sell it and get the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 instead.

Absolutely. The first thing for sure a person will notice is the toughness and solidness of a K-7, K-5/II/s and K-3 body. The KS-2 just felt like a plastic but maybe slightly better compare to Canikony;s entry level camera that does some other things better like touchscreen and better video capabilities. But some might find the KS-2 special tho......

KS2 looks like a very good camera with its capability. I wont even think twice recommending it to someone who wants to buy a dslr. But for me, I prefer to control my dslr with the top screen. If only KS2 has the top screen, I might think about buying it biggrin.gif
