Exactly the reason why I didnt compare different makes with regards to their service...I just cross my fingers, hope nothing bad happens, and at the same time prepare for the worse.

Ya la,it's a very depressing issue. Let's just enjoy our Lion! icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyone know roughly how much we could sell 3-month-old for peugeot 408 1.6 turbo? would appreciate if someone could advise. thanks smile.gif
*
This is a tough question. . I'm not sure, just guessing, maybe around 100K. With discounts offered, new 408t is around $115K.

My advise, keep it bro! The loss is too much. You'll have to topup the loan.

407 and 408 is same model?

if 2009, 2.0, 71k, is this worth to grab?

currently driving vios, my wife wanted to use car, so planned to give she drive vios, cause my vios already 110k mileage, 2010 E spec.

my budget within 80k, is comfortable with me. so search around mudah, and saw this car.

407 and 408 are completely different models and different segments. 407 design is timeless, will always hold it's own. At 71k,I feel not worth it.

There is a 3 month old 408 in Mudah.com,asking price 85k. You can probably get it at 80K. This is a better buy cos
1) 4+ years warranty
2) updated engine
3) new gearbox
4) better looking interior
5) more spacious cabin

I'm just bought the Peugeot 408, Tuesday already can take the car. They didn't offer anything. Just give RM5k discount with 5 years free service. RM 10k is w/o 5 years free service.

Can anyone told me, it is Peugeot 408 has a lot problem ?
*
Did you get the NA or turbo? Both cars have no problems, but some QC issues. A bit more on the NA. Anyway all issues have been solved by the SC,nothing to worry. Welcome and enjoy your Lion!

something out of topic guys.....had anyone compared Ford Focus Sports+ vs 408T? They are both same price OTR, i think, but is Focus any better?

thanks.
*
Handling of the Focus is good,I can't say if it is better than the 408t. As for power,408t is way better than FF. Focus has 202nm and 408t 240nm at 1400 rpm. Focus has to rev up to 4450rpm to get 202nm. This mean FF won't even be able to smell the tail pipe of the 408t on acceleration.

Not trying to bias, the F Focus is no where near the 408t!

I tested Ford Focus Titanium+ (sedan) before I decided to own 408T. In terms of technical specifications and features, I believe you can read from the brochure/online information.

Some comments from me during my test drive:
1. Outlook. I would said the FF sedan has better looking than 408T, especially the Sport model.

2. Interior. I preferred 408T because of the bigger cabin. FF wheel base is almost 408T, but the seats cushions are too bulky. And I believe this cause the cabin of FF become smaller.

3. The dashboard, I picked 408T because I dislike the dashboard of FF, due to too many buttons on dashboard and the steering. For me, I rather to pick the clean and clear design.

4. Boot size, 408T still bigger than FF. The sport FF boot size is the worst.

However, we got to remember FF is 2.0NA engine, with power shift. It is heavier compare than 408T. But step on the gas pedal, the acceleration still not bad. I feel impressive with its acceleration.

By the way, it could be my feel or the test car problem, I feel jerking during low speed cruising. City driving, less than 60kmh, RPM around 2k to 3k, the car jerk all the way.

How is the suspension setup. Is it harsh?

Yes, the jerking issue is there for FF, between these two I would pick 408t for daily drive as well. Small car easy to drive
*
Yes there has been some complaints of jerky gears at low speeds. I don't think it is very bad,but of course 408t gb is silky smooth. Although 408 is bigger in size, the smooth gears are very comfortable at low speeds like town drives.

Hi bro. my pug also facing rattle noise at the front passenger door when driving on "yellow line" on the road. Any resolution of this ?

Thank you
*
I think it's poor QC. If SC is unable to solve your rattling, make appointment with Balakong.

Btw I still have my mild rattle. After complaining twice,I gave up and am living with it. It is mild and only at speeds above 100kmh or rough roads. With music at normal level, can't hear the rattle.

Changing battery on our Pug is a bit complicated, not as straight forward as other cars. Can these guys handle it?

408 hasn't got this indication. I'll recheck the manual and get back if it has.

You are right bro. 408 has this indication. Indicates brake fluid level low or worn brake pads.

Thanks bro, good to hear that.  Where u got this info?

Sorry for late reply. Problem with my ISP.

The info is in our manual. This is very useful indication, most ppl forget about brake pad wear and finally end up with brake disc damage which is much more expensive to change.

City drive. 2.0. But compare is too far between the peugeot and vios.
Vios fuel tank RM 80 - 90.00, city drive i can use for 2 weeks. Peugeot fuel tank is RM110.00, City drive only can use for 1 week.
*
Your Lion is a heavier car with a bigger engine than the Vios. The heavier your are the more energy needed to get moving.

408s city FC will never match Vios. However cos of it's efficient engine,if you are light footed, urban drive can return good FC!

Pug battery problem seems to come from a particular brand(only need to replace) whereas Focus problem is more of the electrical system (harder to solve?)
*
Don't really know if it's just the brand. I think most of us have changed to Delco. Will have to wait and see how long this brand lasts to confirm. I was one of the unlucky ones to change on the 13th month!
