Hi. Just got my 408 2.0. There're pieces of plastic wrap on the body that could not come off. Any ideas how to remove it?

The inner part of the wheels seem to be rusted. Will this be an issue?
*
The wrap is just protective cover, should peel off easily. As for the rusty wheel insides,I think you mean the brake disc. It's just surface rust which will brush off as you apply brakes.

Nothing to worry bro, enjoy your Lion. tongue.gif

May be it is Ford Sync that has sucked out all the juices. There has tonnes of complaint on that . May be they should just name it ford Stink or Ford sink instead
*
Actually I was very keen on the turbo diesel and followed the introduction closely. Lost interest when only NAs hit our shores. Didn't bother to test drive. Understand it's got pretty good handling. Any idea how the handling compares with our turbo.

After tested at latar highway the top speed for this 1.6T is 200 km only ,cannot go beyond this .

and also tested with civic ek 1.6 (99) our lovely 1.6t can only  manage  at one car behind the civic .
*
I don't believe 1.6 Civic can keep up with our 1.6THP. I've smoked 2L Civic. He would catchup when I slow down for traffic. But when I step on the pedal, torque pulled away denying him even my tailpipe smoke!

Something is not right with your ECU,might need a flush and reset!

Somebody can write to Peugeot ask to look into this problem....... I think this is important for the Lion continue to survive, it is no joke once overheat and course the engine block bend, you can bye bye with your Lion .
*
Problem is defective thermostat sensor. Only that batch is affected. Will be good if Nasim identify the batch and do a call back. Unfortunately I doubt that will happen!

Nazim does not realize, this gives the impression the 408t has an inherent overheat problem! People are already taking about this.

thinking of getting the 408 turbo, so far not much negatives. is the FC good? for long distance travelling etc, and what is the overall review of this car? Already test drive the car, quite powerful
*
You have obviously found out a lot about this car. For the price it's a great car. Value for money and nothing to match. It's very good on long dist. runs. FC is subjective, all depends how heavy or light your foot is.

Go get your Lion, bro! You will not regret. I've owned my Lion a year+,still enjoy the drive every time! tongue.gif

I drove a VW Sharan to Taiping yesterday, it took around 2/3 of the tank, roughly RM150 petrol (Ron95).

Well, the driving experience is not bad and German knows how to make car. In the whole trip, I dont really feel that I am driving a big car or I am being ignorant but I am impressed.

But then in the end of the day, I still like the naughty element of my car. Powerful and fast. Why I say so?

1. Driving at 140 on Sharan, I feel that the car is slightly floating. I think it is because the car is high and too light for that size. It is totally not under power, but I doesnt like to drive fast if the feeling is not right. 408t running at 160 is still steady biggrin.gif

2. Way different tuning of the car. Sharan will be all time at 6th gear even when you are driving at 80. This make Sharan is fun to sit in because you dont feel the jerking of the car. But then, I am power hunger beast biggrin.gif

Then again, I am coparing 230k to 120k. LOL
*
I will not compare from a price point, cos a more expensive vehicle does not mean better driving experience. You have just proved my point.

Our Pug is a sedan with sports tuned suspension. This makes a lot of difference. This is the whole and primary reason why you feel great driving the 408t. The rigid sorts tuned suspension gives you the firm ride at 160kmh and will continue to do so even at higher speeds.

Sharan is an SUV,being higher and with softer suspension, will not give you the same firm ride. The floaty feel is due to it's softer suspension.

Goes to show what a great car out 408t is for it's price. Naughty men like naughty element, enjoy! tongue.gif

why not 5008 vs sharan?

That would be a more fair comparison.

I complain the aircond "not cold enough" before, My SA told me not to step too hard all the time.. because this is part of the car's sensor function. When you step hard, the aircond will automatic cut off until your speed is stable. which is to protect the aircond compresor and also give you enough pick up power..
*
Your SA full of bs. No such thing la! I've done quite a few hard pedal drive, did not affect the air-con.

Is there a way to make the battery 'dead' just  before the warranty?
*
Leave all lights, interior + exterior and radio on over night! Plug a portable high wattage light to battery and leave this overnight. All these should drain your battery.

Call century battery asst.. to change..cost 290
*
That's a good reminder. Ppl might think do it on the weekend cos no need to go to work. Btw if you have your old battery, try a claim since you have valid warranty.

Thats assuming the system doesnt go into eco mode and automatically turns everything off after a few minutes..
*
I think the system will go into Eco mode. This mode is to reduce battery discharge, but discharge will still continue if charge source is not restored.

I need the circuit diagram to positively say what shuts down and what stays on. Cabin lights will definitely shut off. If the headlights are considered essential service, then they will stay on.The ECU has no control on a direct connection to the battery,ie a heavy duty outdoor fan. Thus the battery will eventually drain off.

anyone knows where i can get a replacement key? preferably something that looks exactly like the original..i spoiled mine initially in the washing machine and now i think i lost it.. cry.gif

and may i know the price as well..thanks
*
Oh boy this gonna bite! Replacement keys can be bought only at SC. Key has to coded and will cost nothing less than 1K,just my guess. I'm not sure SCs can do the keys codes, but they can certainly help you get a spare key.

Hi guys, is the 308T or griffe any good, do they hv the problems like the old batches? I'm considering a 2nd car.

Thanks.
*
Stay away from the 4spd 308T. 6spd 308T and Griffe share the same updated engine. ECU was retuned on these which solved 95% of the problems. Griffe really looks good. Good luck bro!

Btw,post some photos of your new babe if you get it!

So the new 308t or griffe is just like 408T, not much problems?

I'm targeting early next year, see if there is any promotions for CNY. Currently the promotion is like 10k discount for deepavali but I m traveling end nov, so wait for next year.

I saw the new 308 2014 on paultan but don't like Aircond controls in LCD.

Thanks.
*
Ya most of the early problems have been solved. The 408t is slightly different, carries 8 mods, which means it's engine has been further improved than the 308t/Griffe. I'm beginning to see more Griffes on the road.

Good idea to wait for CNY.I'm sure there'll be attractive promos!
