Hi guys,

My temperature sensor jahanam last night. My car now at Balakong SC. Monday baru cerita.. cry.gif

Symtoms: Last 2 - 3 week, the temperature gauge swaying between 0 - 90 degrees. It only stable after I drove about 5 to 6km. I mentioned the problem to service adviser when I did my 30K service but they did't do anything. Maybe the problem not too serious that time. However, he did mentioned that they are getting more cases like this recently. So guys, beware...
*
From your symptom,it may be just sensor problem. Let us know the exact remedy. Hope nothing serious!

i m contemplating buying a 408 NA too ...
after going through quite some threads here
it seems NA has less problem then Turbo
would be pleased if u can update me from time to time about the performance of NA
*
NA is certainly cheaper to maintain. Wear & tear items will cost less to replace after warranty. If you are contemplating to keep on a long term basis,NA is a very good buy! smile.gif

yesterday chat with my customer, which drove his 408T around 6months +, so far no issue on his car, and he said FC is damn good on highway, u guys have any issue on fc ?
*
I can believe that. Most of the time people only complain about problems. No issues no one talks about it. I've had mine for 14 months, running well without any issues! My FC not that good la,I'm getting 9L/100km urban drive,9.8L/100km city drive.

Brought it to the Glen SC where I bought the car. Arranged for a technician to check and I told him we can take a spin to demonstrate the sound but once he jumped into the car, we did a static test ie turning the steering with the car parked. From there we can detect a faint noise so he suggested to take straight into workshop and check.

Barely 20 mins later he came back and explained that he checked for the parts and unfortunately had to order and will reschedule appointment when the parts arrive.

Made an official complaint on Peugeot careline today and requested for a letter to confirm that all warranty is in order and warrant also that there will be no defects in the car subsequent to the dismantling of the parts for the steering rack to be replaced.
*
Your official careline complaint is a good idea. After your problem is fixed, will appreciate if you could write up a SOP on what exactly we should do when an issue/defect comes up! Tks mate!

Even keeping a steady 110 out station,I managed only8.7L/100km. Did that only once, cannot tahan la,felt like uncle driving. How to drive a turbo car like that? Now days I just let the Lion run and forget FC,pure joy! tongue.gif

You are lucky, got warranty! I changed mine on 13th month, had to pay. Hope Delco last longer.

Although my drives are 60% long runs and only 40% short start/stops,the original battery started to run down by the 13th month.

Sometimes when come to think about it, good to have the 5years warranty. *touchwood*

For me, when I tested the turbo,it was instant addiction. However I read up a lot and was skeptical over the Prince engine problems. Then I researched and found out about the mods done on the engine to improve reliability. Finally it was the 5 year warranty that swung it!

Now extremely to glad with my choice. There is no other car that offers better at this price! biggrin.gif

Tks for this. A little disappointed with news of BMW's exit, it's BMWs input that has made the Prince award winner for so many years! PSA diesel technology is very good, but I'm not happy with NAZA's service & support, especially on high tech stuff. Our dirty diesel is not good for these engines. I guess I will exit Peugeot in a couple of years.

on the brighter side, if you care (like I do) about car company that is sincere about becoming green

PSA has been on top of that chart since 2 years ago, beating Toyota and others with Volvo & Renault recently joining the league ......all 4 surpassing BMW, Fiat , Ford, GM, VW, Daimler, Hyundai, Nissan, Suzuki, Mazda, Honda whom are mostly scampering to meet their targets

PSA on Top is a rare thing so deserve more praise  cheers.gif
*
Exactly what I mean. PSA is very good on green technology. However I dread to own one with NAZA's kind of service and support.

Nasim to double capex to RM40mil next year

Nasim Sdn Bhd, a member of the Naza Group of Companies, which is the exclusive distributor of Peugeot vehicles in Malaysia, plans to inject around RM40 million for the assembly of new models and new outlets in 2014 – double the amount it will spend this year.

"There will be some exciting lineup coming to our shores next year. I can't reveal the names of the new models, but we will introduce two sports utility vehicles (SUV), one multipurpose vehicle (MPV) and a passenger car," he told SunBiz in an interview.

2014 , time to buy another Peugeot?
*
Very interesting to read NAZA's interest and commitment. However I wonder how much of this money will be allocated towards improving people skills. How much will be spent to improve technical skills of employees. This the is the question. No doubt PSAs latest tech will flow to Malaysia. IMO expanding to bring in new models alone is not good enough.

but considering the alternatives, would you go for BMW, VW (both top 1 & 2 rated in service according to JD power Customer service index Malaysia 2013) which is of course pricier

or are you looking at Mazda & Honda (both shared top 3 spot) as your next ride? Curious...

I don't buy cars based on scores. A car must satisfy my criteria. Too early to say which at the moment. It may well be a Korean!

Your point is on the dot. It was based on this that I bought the 408t,and the car has not let me down. I am not a power freak that needs to go flat out. Love the low end muscle and flex it when needed.

Equally important to me is proper service and support. No matter how good a car is, if not serviced properly than the ownership becomes a nightmare. I'm still not sure this segment here is adequate! NAZA hasn't totally inspired my confidence!

You're right there bro. Initially I don't mind about sub-standard service by peugeot. I just love the low end muscle and enjoy it every time I had a chance. But when my temp sensor malfunctioned recently, I started to feel the pain. I collected my car on 13th Sept from Balakong SC without any repair done. Was told that I have to wait for 1 month for the part to arrive from France. I tried my luck and call a few SCs if they have the part. I got 'luckly' when Glenmarie SC responded that they have the part. The guy that I talked to even run through my chasis number to verify the type of 'outlet tank'. He said 408 got 3 types of 'outlet tank'. He asked me to come on Wednesday (today) and proceed to see him. So, I took leave and reached at the SC around 9.15am. To my suprise, the guy that I'm suppose to meet is not working today. My name also not in the appointment list and no one knows about my issues. I cannot verify my case since no one seems to know his mobile no. So, I just left the SC before I do something stupid.

I called careline and told my story as a last resort before I surrender and wait for another 3 weeks for the part to arrive. An  hour later, I received call from careline and informed me that the part has 'arrived' at Balakong SC. They set my appointment on this Friday to replace the part.

I'm quite relief but the whole episode has given me a new thought on this brand. I'm not sure now how long I will keep this car..

I understand your situation bro. Really sickening to hear anyone getting this sort of treatment. No professionalism at all in the manner they handled your case. It is shocking no one is held responsible for a cockup this this. This is not the end, someone else will also get this treatment cos no one is held responsible! it is such a simple issue, but a customer gets trashed cos of tida apa attitude in the company. Unfortunately a lot of business in Malaysia are handled this way and that is a shame.

Just like you,I too will not hold on to this car too long. However I will say,the problem is not the car or brand. It is the franchise holder! Sometime ago someone said,'I love Peugeot but will not buy it cos of NAZA'. I now understand that statement!
