If I may say so, I think your gf has good taste, that is why she choose u?  icon_rolleyes.gif

Being an NA owner myself, I have not encountered squeaky brake prob so far, however when it gets wet, yes it is there, but it is the same for all car's disc brakes system, am told. Just try to run them dry after washing or after going through puddle of water/rains, etc.

if u want to stop them completely you can try bring 4 table fans, and fan all 4 wheels pointing at the brakes, to quickly dry them but i never try them, so don't know if will work.

My Light sensor and rain sensor is so far 90% accurate, the 10% is really sometimes, it takes a wee bit longer to activate, but that is fine for me as I am a patient man (once you upgrade from Bf-gf to Hubby Wifey status, u too will improve your patience I believe)

care to elaborate what do u mean wiper not wipe off rain effectively? Pug is designed for LHD, but u can see which gear you engage still from display in front of you, don't just see it from gear box ?

Suspension of 2.0 is comfortably set (nice as opposed to naughty) hence it is fitted with higherprofile tyres than Turbo , and the trade off is in comparison with Mazda, VW, or bimmer , it is more floaty per se. FC ? well one thing is 4 speeder Gear, another is the curb weight, so I only compare them to perhaps other 2.0 NA with 4 speeder of close similar curb weight, and afraid that combi makes it quite hard to compare with other seg C because the weight is almost a D seg car...I accept it as trade off for VERY ROOMY CAR (wheel base >2700 mm)

Why not standard? Mine showed AM6C / AT6
*
the AT8 is a 4-speed transmission which is an evolution of the AL4. so, the sticker still shows AL4. it is still related to each other. or maybe they just have excess stickers.

can we install the DRL and the bi-xenon head light on 408 or not

user posted image
*
you would need to install the whole nose section plus the wire harness and a new ecu. even the wire harness of the standard 308turbo and the 308turbo griffe are different.

Any different between the 308 Turbo and 308 griffe? In term of performance.
*
performance wise 100% same. key (and most expensive change) highlights are the directional, smoked front xenon lamps with headlamp washers. then there is body kit, rim (same size but different design) and interior trim changes.

Ooo I see. Sounds feasible, but got to check the wheel arch clearance whether it can fit 18 inchers with the extra 1" offset or not. Plus I think it will void warranty..I already asked the SC several times, and they said even the smallest mod of changing the tyre profile or width will void warranty...sigh
*
UNLESS, you get their ori rims from their boutique. for those, 100% they don't kacau your warranty.

When I question the service centre supervisor, since you are full and advise me to come a week later. If over the mileage by 500 to 700, he said no problem. Won't void warranty.
*
better not wait. i don't trust what they say. best to just find another centre that has available spots. they can say anything but when it comes to warranty claim time, you don't want to be caught with the short end of the stick.

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Mar 1 2013, 06:50 PM)
Bro you are absolutely right in cooling the water before it can be pumped into the engine water jackets to cool the engine. The fan at the radiator cools this water and ofcourse ram air due to forward motion of the vehicle. You have successfully cooled your Lion.

However the turbo is not happy. Turbos spin to something like 150,000rpm. I forget the temperatures generated of my head, unless I dig up my old torn notes, that too only if I find them.....hahaha! To keep the turbos cool and running happy, most use fluid bearings. A thin layer of oil is constantly pumped on to the shaft that supports these bearings. Whilst the oil cools the shaft and bearings and allows it to spin without much friction, it picksup tremendous heat. Don't forget the turbo gets up to 150,000 rpm. The heat generated here has to be cooled too. As suggested by bro jfcheang, not pushing your car the last few kilometers before reaching home helps a bit.

Older turbo cars used to have timer running the engine at idle for a few minutes to let the oil cool off. As you know, after shut down the engines ran for a while. A more effective method of cooling is to completely shut down the primary heat source,ie the engine, and cool the oil by a fan. Dissipation of heat by this method is much more efficient/faster, and does not consume fuel. Hence on our Lion the fan has to run a few seconds depending on heat level.

Hope this helps!

Not at all surprising. Even the JD Powers survey scored the Germans poorly. MINI which is part of BMW doesn't give a surprising result either. Only Jaguar, Porsche, Mercedes did very well. BMW made some gains in the latest study and is now placed above the industrial average. Audi also showed an improvement but is still under the industrial average.

if you've upgraded your rim and tyre combo, please have your ecu recalibrated at a svc centre. otherwise your distance to empty or fuel consumption readings will be inaccurate as well as your odometer and tripmters etc.

Guys, FYI

CHANGE IN GLENMARIE SERVICE CENTRE OPERATING TERMS

In our continuous effort to ensure the best level of service to our customers, we would like to inform that with effect from 15 March 2013, our service centre in Glenmarie will operate strictly on a 'by appointment only' basis. The service centre will however allow walk-in for emergency cases which must be determined by the service centre manager and those without appointment must park their cars outside the building to provide priority to customers by appointment.

Customers can also visit our other 5 centres in the Klang Valley for service / repairs.

For a full list of centres, please click on this link: http://www.peugeot.com.my/find-a-dealer/

Here's the link to e news:

Is there an in house Peugeot mod or aftermarket mod specialist like:

Eg.
Mercedes - brabus/kleeman. In house: AMG

BMW - AC Scnitzer. In house: M

Audi/VW - APR, Carecature. In house: ABT

Toyota/Lexus - In house: TRD/F

Honda - HKS, Spoon. In house: Mugen/modulo
*
unfortunately nope. their peugeot sport range is solely for motorsport only and you can only buy their stuff if you are going racing. but they have apparels etc. which can be bought by the public. i look at it as an unrealised opportunity.

they have rims for sale though and you can find some at the glenmarie boutique but as these are oem manufactured, they're oem priced too. but oem means you get rims that are not the last word in lightness but strong on durability and best thing is, those rims (oem) are designed to work with the car from the design stage itself.

Okay, from what I understand from your statement, this means only the 408THP has the EP6CDTM while the rest of the PUGs including the 508/5008 uses the same remapped ECU engine?
*
yup. you are 100% correct there.

I read quite a few people complain about NAZA SC. There are some who claim they will never buy a Pug cos of poor costumer service. I think serious improvements are being made and yes, there's all ways room for improvements. However have a read and see whats happening at the other camp!

actually, shouting at people is usually better than shouting in the forum (i'm referring to the link you gave). shouting at the service centre ends there and hopefully it is resolved. but shouting in a forum lets the whole world see the problems you face, creating a ripple effect which will surely scare others from buying your car later on. plus, it damages the chance for good rv as well if the used car dealers read all the negative postings. but the truth is all brands have system issues; be it a vehicular/product issue or a people issue or otherwise. perhaps companies who have been here for a longer period have a better system but i think they would all still have a system to resolve issues. use that to the fullest.

i'm sure you all will sell off or upgrade your cars one day and it would be terrible to regret a posting here that will affect the full potential of what you can sell your car for one day later.

just my bit of advise. always important to keep a positive outlook. thanks to skyjack for always being positive. rclxms.gif

anyway, i didn't say don't rant. it is normal human nature to be frustrated when we don't get things going how we want them to be. just be civil (if possible) while ranting.
