to be fair, you will noticed the winners of the awards in the years has not move much. Toyota wins the sub 1 litre category from 2007 to 2010 until these 3 years (beaten by Fiat once and now Ford). Honda also won the sub 1 litre before that from 2001 to 2006

I think partly the reason is the philosophy of teh maker, Japs like them small....

Any way, being the NA owner myself, EW10A+ is not doing too bad either

Dear WKA1116,

if you want to hear specific problems, you have to to do a bit of hardwork visiting this thread all pages (now 201) as well as the earlier thread http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/2343800 (130 pages)

Hard work will pays off, if you are as determined to resolve some of the issue we faced, i guarantee you this, you will become one of the star salesman/or centre manager, if that is who you are.

Until now, here are a few common problem, and suggestion

1. Battery. Die fast ; solution, ditch yokohama or whatever french brands taht comes with the car, put delkor straight away, coz we xdon't enjoy car won't start day without warning signals

2. Molding problem with the central opening at dash board, not all, but a number of us owners here, faced the problem, and all we get is careline: service centre can process your request to claim warranty /replacement (is that the best you can do?.

Some can be resolved with better QC.

And I will tell you anor first case you need to help out is Termibait's no turbo issue of a turbo car, what a joke but it is not even funny

Hi my friend,
Battery die fast due to the parking mode...PUG have a switch to switch from normal mode to parking mode near ur suis box this is to prevent the battery die fast..

For the molding issue I will ask the SC so far I have encounter battery loss during parking for few days.i look into it

FYI I not base at any branches or SC,I'm running on my own so no attach.that y I can provide everyone info without typical sales talk.

The parking suis need to go SC to refer mechanic to sw...however I learning it how to switch.
*
say what, how come no SC technician ever mentioned any thing like that? Do the technicians (NOT owners) even know how to do it at the suis box, any implications of switching ? Boy Nasim can save a lot of battery replacement if They just do it on all cars before they comes out from the assembly

Haha...not every technical support know...I asked from Penang techincian..cuz I encounter a show car can't start for few days then I found out they sw to parking suis
The purpose is to reducing battery consume during parking certain sensor was activated and some sensor was hibernate..for those for wanna travel for a week or long period need to sw the suis..in order to keep the battery safe...and the sw jz like a safe mode...eventually battery will gone slowly but still will flat if don drive.
FYI near drawer sw box..I haven dare to open it..until I get clear instruction to do.
Will update u all
*
But the point is No normal car of any model, any make, need to switch suis like you have described. I drive my car every day, no chance of long parking for days let a lone weeks at all.

Since you are as you said outsider, think we have to give you a miss, you deal with all cars, all makes, all models, don't you? Think I have given you too much of my attention, adios and good luck

yes, once you hit age 40 and beyond, suddenly you will acquire a second wave of youthfulness (You should know, since you have been there before tongue.gif ) , may be it's mid life crisis? or perhaps it is just the poet in me, eager to write something romantic, or may be it is our pug, makes you more french day by day.... biggrin.gif

you know what i mean right? like the subtle change of the concept of ' teh tarik sessions' become something of a distant memory....coz now it is finer restaurants for wine sessions instead. wub.gif whistling.gif

Here's something for ppl who feel only Pugs have battery problems!

Hi,

Anyone can help? My K5 almost 1 year old and mileage more then 40K. Yesterday my car battery KO. Im thought i can claim as in warranty as it yet 1 year old. Refer back to the Services Booklet. It mentioned 6 months or 20K or which ever come 1st. The battery cost me RM565.00

Anyone got same experience with me and able to do it as In Warranty claim?

Please help and advice.

Thanks
Poor K5 Driver.

Can I say the advancement in car battery is not keeping up with advancement in car electronics development? With all the electronics features in modern cars, it is consuming the battery at a faster rate?

I remember my Wira, with less electronic features, and running on non-maintenance free battery .... the battery can actually last quite long.

Wonder those T&H models are facing this battery problem?

If the car alternator is good, the battery should be quite lasting cuz it wont over charge the battery. Btw, insider news, actually the Delkor battery which being the replacement won't be any better than the yokohamas that was installed earlier.. delkor battery's quality also those so so type only..
