you'll go deaf when you try to sleep with your pc on. nidec? cause triblade and practical. i have a delta focus flow 190cfm one. that one is a screamer. still sitting on the shelf waiting to be used. problem is. nidec can perform good cfm below 1 amp. and that deltai have is 3amp. so try its a power sucker

my cheapest idea. can tiru tiru la. no need to modify, just chuck in a powerful fan and you're good to go.

laugh.gif this is exactly what i did for my file server hdds in the office using an 80mm low speed fan from a dead psu...works too!!! but only open case...close case and the temps will rise somemore sweat.gif

as for the delta FFBs, try and check if they can run from standstill at 5v or 7v. if they can, consider urself lucky. i have 4 120mm FFB and only one can run at 5/7v.

anyway, no need fan controller for the FFBs... u can actually make a flip switch for it. awake=12v, sleeping time 5 or 7v. thats what i did to my 120 & 80 mm FFBs in my case as well as the other fans in my case. helps hell of alot too.. best thing is the FFBs still push a decent amount of air even at 5v thumbup.gif

12v-7v SWITCH

i'm using Nidec D08K-12TS4 01 (80mm x 2 intake and blowing my HDD) + 80mm x 1 exhuast (making smooth air system)

Maxtor sata 80g : 29'c - 36'c cool.gif

using powerlogic artix 5000g, cooling fan cant directly blowing the hdd, else will get better result sweat.gif

that note that not all FFBs can run at low voltage...if u have ones that can run at low voltage then ur lucky... coz like i said... i have 4 120mm FFB and only 1 can run at 5v...the rest only can run at 12v... thats why i asked u to check first before deciding to make the switch

Don't blow directly on the PCB, can cause static. And positioning the hard disk like that is not recommended imo as the weight distribution is not balanced.

Thanks...will follow your advise. Still thinking of how to cooling down the hdd. Feeling that is good to screw it at the metal hdd case n let the heat flow to the case and put one or 2 fan blow from side..........Is this a good way to do? Pls advise.
