Yoobao in my opinion is best bang for bucks. Just make sure you are buying genuine products so get it from trusted retailers. smile.gif

I'd recommend Mipow Powertube 5500. It feels more high quality imo and does what it does; charges on the go. But if you need a higher capacity or to charge multiple devices then this may not be for you.

I'm using yoobao 11200 obviously OEM one.. Buying for my frenS too c'ze of attractive the simply way to charging when you outing... Can charge 5 time for IP4 but cannot charge for IP4S... Just rarely yoobao can charge IP4S using IP4S original cabel... Other thing, you must have soft hand c'ze their plug is soo easy broke.. It just pop-inside n to claim waranty like take forever to claim... brows.gif brows.gif

the capacity of iphone5 is 1440mAh. the powerbanks' capacity need to be reduced by around 30% (due to energy loss). do the maths yourself wink.gif

I would say this is partially true only for unwellknown brand power bank, my energizer XP4003 rated at 4000mAH and I can fully charged my iphone 5 about 3 times....3x1440mAH=4320mAH which exceeded the rated capacity of the powerbank itself....somemore energizer is the only brand which currently offering 3 years warranty...

my calculations are for Yoobao tongue.gif those other cina brand will get even worse.
maybe more well know brands like sony or eneloop will provide a better capacity loss per total capacity ratio rclxms.gif

Have you came across advertisement from Voltaic which always appear on any site you visit ?

They have power solution for most of us to use solar

http://www.voltaicsystems.com/

They have range of power bank that you can charge via wall plug or solar panel.

And the biggest one can charge your macbook too.

Since their bags are so ugly and bulky, we can just buy the power bank

http://www.voltaicsystems.com/10wattkit.php

Or if you like DIY we can buy their panels and screwed it to our bag. Each only measure 8"x 4" so not that big. we need 3 to charge the biggest powerbank.

http://www.voltaicsystems.com/kits.shtml#guide

Lets go green people! LOL

*unfortunately voltaic do not ship to malaysia. so have to find 3rd party shippers like usunlocked, vshub, etc to bring to malaysia.

Well in Yoobao's website I once saw that the efficiency loss can go up to 35% (I hope I read it wrongly)

Anyway I have ordered a YB Magic cube 4400mAh, should be enough for 2 charges. Didn't need that much of power. Just as emergency.

There is some thread selling 12000mAh china brand at RM70 up. My sister used it and it could charge her S3 for 4 times (she said). Sound OK for that price.. biggrin.gif

4400mAh can charge for 2 times or maybe 2.5 for 10% to 100% IIRC
35% efficiency loss is possible, depending on surrounding factors and of course age of the powerbank biggrin.gif

there are loads of china brand powerbanks around. if we are talking about Yoobao (and I mean original ones, not those fake or imitations), you shouldn't worry much icon_rolleyes.gif
other brands.. not really sure but i think the worst problem you'll face generally is fast discharge of your powerbank (some 20k mAh will lose to quality 5k mAh) smile.gif

I am thinking to get YooBao 13000mAH powerbank.

I have gone thru their website and the online manual and it mentioned that this model needs about 15 hours to fully charge it.

My concern is if I did not charge it fully within 15 hours and most of the time to switch off the charging of the powerbank device at about maybe 5 to 7 hours, will it SPOIL the powerbank?

usually what i'll do is just leave my powerbank on charge overnight. not sure whether it will spoil or not but i'll try to do a full discharge and full charge at least once per week smile.gif

Yeah, I am thinking to do charging overnight but it will be only about up to 8 hours. Cannot afford to leave it for 15 hours when need to go out.

Are you using YooBao 13000mAh? If yes, how many time can charge the device before it needs to be charge again?

Can charge iphone 5 and ipad 2 directly using iphone or ipad cable, right?

a fully charged 13000mAh yoobao can charge iphone from 10% to 100% around 4.5~5.5 times.
not sure about that.. usually when my friend reach his dorm at 6pm he'll just leave it at charge until next morning 7am. around 13 hours lah. i'm using 5200mAh now.. need to charge around 6~7 hours only. can charge iphone for 2~3 times, which is enough for me biggrin.gif

I bought a Yaobao 13000 maH Decepticons heh heh heh. Make sure it's Original, if it sounds too cheap, most likely it's fake. Yaobao has a website where you can scratch the box and you can input the code to check if the product is fake or not.

I have had no issues with it. It is able to fully charge my Lumia 920 (2000maH), iPhone 4s, iPad 2 (2 units) and an iPhone 4 .... and still have some charge to do another round for the iPhone 4s .... it is that good.

It's a China brand and some people may have issues with that but remember in the early 70's, people say the same thing about Japanese made products as well.

Th fake ones ar going for RM160 in some of the Low Yat stores but I insisted on an original one so the guy went somewhere and brought me a box which is a bit different that the fake ones (with the name of the sole distributor clearly marked on the box). I paid RM260 for it.

Not sure about iPhone 5 because I don't own one. I decided to go with Nokia Lumia 920 after the 4s.

The original one comes with a 3 pin plug to charge the PB and some accesories (Micro USB, Micro USB to 30 pin etc etc) but I am not sure abiut BT headsets etc (if it has a MicroUSB charging port it shout work). It comes with 2 charging port (1A and 1.5A I think, so for the iPad or iPhone, you need to use the higher ampere slot)

mmmmmm..... hmm.gif

I saw some of the Low Yat trader saying selling 13000mAh for RM165 and real original one with Sole Distributor Mobile Dot Com sticker on the box.

But you paid RM260 and they are selling RM165 !!!

So, not sure fake one or ori one !!!!

Confusing now, don't know want to buy or not !!!

I bought it from a Low Yat store so there will always be a premium for that. I was back in KL for 4 days so really had no time to wait for the traders in this forum. So I think the RM260 that I paid is at a premium,

I am pretty sure it is much cheaper than what those guys are selling in Low Yat. If the feedback from those who bought from the LYN traders are good, I'm sure they are selling the original ones.

But as always, buyer beware.

The one you described was the "original local" set obtained from the sole distributor. There are also some real genuine "original china" set produced by yoobao and imported straight by sellers without modifications. Yoobao also provide OEM/ODM services to produce for other companies. Of course they are other fakes too. Some prices quoted are too high I think.

Power banks should have very high profit margin. So if you can get a way to import original yoobao directly you may be selling at a real low price while being unbelievably genuine. Judgement is up to buyers afterall. Seen some selling at really low proce and customers proved them genuine from yoobao china.

I've been using Belkin 4000mAh for quite sometime. Can charge up to 3 or 4 times depending how much % left in my 4s / 4. Love the fact there's 2 USB output ports, can charge 2 phones at once.

Got it for around $40, now it's $23 AUD.

i have try using yoobao magic cube 10400mAh and the condition really great... my 1st fully charged for this powerbank really fast around 5hour... but i charged this powerbank using adapter 5V:2A (galaxy tab charger usb), is it will become any problem or faulty to power bank? becoz this power bank input only can receive 5V:1.2A.....

If weight is a problem, can consider smaller mAh so it's less heavy. Mine is 4400 mAh magic cube. Love the design and the size, and yes I am a lazy person to bring heavy things tongue.gif
The only downside is that the magic cube comes with glossy finish so it now has smudges all over it. unsure.gif

2A will increase the speed by almost twice the intended input. From what I was reading it will result in a faster charge of course but the battery will drain faster if charged at higher amperage. Something like that, but I can't really recall.

If you use 2A output, it will drain much faster but charges your phone faster la. But be careful not to use 2A too much, some phones cannot withstand the 2A power, might affect the phone's battery after awhile.

Still can't decide on yoobao on eneloop.

Can't resist yoobao for it's price but at the same time unable to decide on which model to choose from. High mAh but big size, and have to get a small one for gf as a gift.

As for eneloop, it's more reliable but price is high vs capacity factor.

Anyone can give me some suggestion?

Some YB offers 2 ports - 1A and 2A but not the magic cubes.

I own a 4400mAh magic cube. Love it except the smudges on the glossy surface!
For iPhone, 1A is enough. But my sister found it hard to get S3 charged with 1A.

If want reliable source & confrim original performance, go for mobile dot com. Cant remember the nick but they are selling in Garage Sale too. Just only a bit exp compare than the seller that get direct from China.

@mirrorstore. She sells Yoobao directly from China YB factory/store. You can consider. I got mine from here.

But if you want the mobiledotcom sticker then :/

I verified mine as original from the YB webby.

Just an info for everyone.
Some of the power banks sold in sites like lazada, groupon etc, their power banks maybe be faulty. So i suggest get it from somewhere where u can try it and within distance to change if its truly faulty.

Ops, reply in wrong thread lol. Anyway back on topic, yeah get the yoobao powerbank. Never disappoints. To be honest, get the big capacity like 13000mah. It's a bit bulky for a girl's liking but trust me, it will come to good use when u can recharge it from 0-100% at least 3-4 times. And she got a hand bag to put carry these bulky things.

The output from the powerbank is 1mA. It's pretty standard unless u find those who can give u 1.5 or 2mA outputs and due to the capacity of powerbanks, charging them usually will take quite a while.

im using the black transformer one on the right. that is the only power bank i have, and have been using it for the past few months. it does the job, but if anything, i wish its smaller. now its bigger than the phone.
but bigger capacity = bigger size. so no choice.

bro you cant exactly compared it to the speed of charging from wall plug. its portable. just leave it there and charge while you do your own thing. can bring it everywhere anyways.

But I am currently finding power bank, could anyone share your experience about it?

the powerbank with 20000 and 30000mAh in the current market are all FAKE. i know the original price they bought this fake powerbank and the real 30000 capacity price is about RM200 or above.
so just buy those 10000 or 11200 enough for you charge about 4 times ( depend your phone battery capacity).
those 10000 and 11200 can only charge for 2 time or 3 time normally are fake unit. beware.

Right now I'm using Yoobao transformer 13,000Mah. My iphone 4 can charge from 20% to 100% about 4-5 times. That's very good when I'm travel. The most important is, it has two usb slot that allow me to share power to my friends or family. Terbaik~

I use the Pro Mini M8 by Magic-Pro. Its 8,000 mAh. What I like is that its slim due to its using Lithium Polymer cells.
Do some research pros & cons between Lithium Ion & Lithium Polymer cells, especially behavior of the different cells and charge capacity versus physical size.
Cost me rm199, but love it. Has dual USB out (1A & 2.1A) and can charge both iPhone 5 & iPad at the same time.

if i were to use fake powerbanks, will it affect my ip5 battery life?
or that will largely depend on the cable used (fake/ori cable)??

Don't choose cheap and too good to be true specs. and complain about faulty or explosion. Buy genuine products with warranty and quality assurance. At lease you have peace of mind.

I would like to ask, if i were to leave my yoobao 13k transformer to charge a phone for 8 hours straight, will the power bank continue to discharge even tho my phone is already fully charge?
Coz my power bank drop from 80%-20% in one night so wanted to know if it is normal or not.

In normal case, your powerbank will not charge the phone anymore once the phone is fully recharged. In your case here, it seems to me that you have got a fake/immitation Yoobao Transformer hmm.gif

Yooboa so many fake. Even the ori one looks like toy. I bought one that claims to be ori but perform like shit. Eventually try Pineng nd the built quality is so much better. 10000mah can charge my iphone 5 for 5 times. Really good

carbike, how worth is it to buy china brand?
i see there's lot of china powerbank 20,000mah and 30,000mah
i know it wont be last longer more than a month, but in terms of capacity, can it deliver 20,000mah?
if i m using ip4S, can it charge more than 10 cycle?

Does any of you consider the kind of batteries used in the powerbank?
there are two types:
Li-Ion and Li-Polymer

Google about them and find out that explosion reported in Li-Ion powerbank, while none on Li-Polymer powerbank.

So, what do you think about this and would you suggest Li-Polymer is a better choice?

My another concern is that can we bring the powerbank on board a plane?? either in hand carry or check in luggage.

Lastly, anyone tried the Probox Sanyo 5200 / 7800 powerbank before? it does look very trendy!! pls share if you do. thx

ya i know there is some cases reported in China but its very rare to happen in malaysia
what i m thinking now is the performance. can it charge normally?
because if the price is rm60++ for 20,000mah, but it can charge iphone 6-7 times, it actually equivalent to original 13,000mah which cost u RM100++

are u getting a deal from some group buy site? if yes, avoid it at any cost...

i have a friend buy one unit with huge mAH... buy back fully charge, then discharge it and can't charge back anymore... call back dealer and said warranty only 1mth... then i open the powerbank casing and look inside... all those ciplak china rechargeable AA battery pack in a box only...

don't say it can be used or not first, i consider on the safety first... shakehead.gif

extra info, i read up somewhere in fb... powerbank exploded when put in a car under the sun .. LOL ..

u mean some kind like groupon, living social and dealmate?
basically its just the same.
even in forum and Mudah.my there are sellers selling it in bulk

i am fully aware on the safety side but i just want to know the capacity of it.
at least when people asking for recommendation, i dare to share with them the truth and based on actual fact, not from my assumption.
either risky or not, safe or unsafe, its all up to the user to decide. some people just prefer to save RM30 short term.

I recently got a Targus 2000mAh. It's pretty light and pocketable. i guess enough for 1 emergency charge. Anyone got a small and reliable power bank that is pocketable ?

We are selling a Locally assembled Power Bank. Unlike other sellers, we randomly took a unit and opened it up, taking some pictures of the interior part of the power bank to show our customers. What you see is what you are going to pay for.

*
based on my experience using both,

External Battery Back Pack (power bank)
Pros
1. new design can charge 2 devices at the same time
2. Higher battery capacity
3. In case you change to a new phone, it still can be use

Cons
1. Higher capacity are bulky and heavy
2. too many fakes / imitations / low quality product as it's widely use and a lot of unethical seller taking the opportunity to sell below average quality product and earn money
3. Longer charging time
4. not easily portable for high capacity unit

Battery Cases (Mophie)
Pros
1. Can be use as a casing to protect your phone
2. less bulky compare to power bank
3. save the need of plugging in to the phone. constant Plug and remove might damage the charging port due to wear and tear. A high quality usb port can only last like 10,000 times.

Cons
1. Limited model available
2. higher price compared to power bank. (cheaper china made might be higher risk) - Original mophie cost around RM300+
3. in the event of changing to a new phone, the unit cant be use anymore.
4. Low capacity. Normally only about the same as the internal battery capacity. in case of mophie for iphone 5, about 1500mAh.

Hope the info helps

Freaking expensive but what you pay is what u get smile.gif

That PowerBank uses some sort of like Laptop Charger and can charge the PowerBank in 1-2 hours time smile.gif

I've been using YB Powerking for close to 2 years.. very very satisfied with it. Charge my Note 2 and Ipad2 same time. With some light browsing.

Still have 2-3 bars. Over night charge about 8 hours takes from 1 bar blinking to 4 bar.

Wanted to get another but somehow from this thread kinda worried about the quality nowadays sad.gif i must have dual output 1A/2A..

my model http://www.yoobao.com/en/product.asp?b_id=...id=217&a_id=295 cost me 150 ish? Previous seller no longer selling...

Anyone know a trusted seller?

Visited the seller, Mecury Authorized Reseller. Should be good... looking into both the interior and your feedback.. n the price quite reasonable too.

It is original, I bought from China retail store.
Just that seller in garage sales mark up the price only.

Yoobao Transformer is around RM70 only.

oh..so u mean u bought it in China? ok then.. sometimes its not because seller wanna mark up.. but the shipment is way too expensive especially if you are using the courier service. Not to mention our Tax.. Imagine if you can buy an Ori at Rm60 in china, those selling RM60 in Malaysia after shipping fee and tax, what are the original cost?

bought pineng PN 910
11,200 mAh
so far,im satisfied with this brand
for the price of RM 129, worth it

to full recharge my iphone from 1% to 100 % takes 1h 30m
as for powerbank bat , from 100% drop to 85%

frm this,i can assume that this powerbank can recharge my phone more than 5 times

* make sure buy original

Yes. Pineng original is a good brand... the reason why we are not selling it is there are too many sellers around as well as fake / imitation brands. Too tired to compare already. Those fake sellers are telling everyone its the same, just from different sources.. haiz.. faced the same issue when we are selling original yoobao last time. Now focus on selling JOHOYO which is assembled in Malaysia.. No imitation at all.

bought a philips powerbank (7800), did a full charge. Can only charge my HTC one (2300) for 2 times (from 10% to 100%), and last charge only went from 10% to 30%.

So the powerbank only holds <5000 mah...its way too low from the advertise 7800.

Should i take it back the shop for 1-1 or will this improve after charging few more times?

even 1K I also doubt it can charge twice from 0 to 100%. Cos most power bank comes with a 5W and the battery is 3.7W. U need to convert energy for the charging.. so for a 2200mAh, if you take 80% of it after conversion and energy lost, you left around 1760mAh only. How to charge to full?

i just bought it at Viewnet for rm35. and also they tell me if i add on rm3, they can just switch 1-1 if anything happens to the power bank in 12 months. no repair needed. if rm35, if claim warranty have to wait for repair. i find it worth it rm3 for whole 12 months so, i bought it for RM38 nett.

Perfectly normal. 7800mAh is the maximum capacity of the power bank. But since most power bank are using 5W and phones are charging input are 3.7w, the energy will need to be converted. Normally we take only 80% of the said maximum capacity. So for a 7800mAh, 80% would means only 6240mAh useable. Plus some energy lose due to standby.. It comes to around the number of time claimed by you.

Hope this explains...

How do u check whether its genuine serial number? I heard from our supplier that the original serial number can only be check once. After that it will become invalid... Anyone can comment on this? Don't really trust statement from china suppliers. Prefer direct testimonials from user

Yoobao or Edvan.. Which got electricity auto cut when fully charge.. Edvan mostly got genuine in market only.. Yoobao got a lot fake.. Go to the retailer shop then will get genuine with RRP. Edvan are almost same price compare with yoobao.. Personal prefer edvan.. Got extra warranty..

dont always looks for cheaper powerbank.. when u know RRP is rm179 or 199, market seller selling in price rm139, confirm its got different.. if this type, buy at your own risks..

i rather pay more to get genuine to protect myself and smartphone.

YooBao is good brand, but easily get fake 1 unless from retail shop. im worrying so im taking Edvan. SG company. not so famous, but at least genuine.. using Samsung Original rechargable battery.. anything happen, insurance warranty claimable..

P/s: just make sure u don't sleep near your pb when charging... Misfortunes happen randomly.

M03 8000mAh by Kingmax RRP is RM219, so if can get 180 - 190 should be reasonable. but of course if u wanna compare to OEM or imitation power bank, the price still at the high side, but my advice is, if u can afford an original or better brand, y not go for it.. just to have a piece of mind.

No doubt Yoobao original is good but pricey also. Few brands that I would recommend, MiPow, Anker, pineng, johoyo, n more... As long as original, it's should be good. Not too say all oem is bad, just that if a person have the intention to make imitation means they don't really care about the QC but only profit, so safety might be an issue.

Just my pov and not meant to offend anyone

what sticker? original yoobao malaysia comes with sticker with Mobile Dot Com only. The rest, i think even with hologram, it might even be fake considering they might get it from 3rd party in China. Cos if they have taken it directly with YooBao, they will be given an authorization letter to prove they are original. We personally check with one of the victim who get stocks through 3rd party supplier in China, ended up they also a victim as the brand owner claimed that the "said supplier" was not in their list.

For Malaysia, yes since they are the main distributor of Yoobao. The rest I'm not too sure. Probably if u really wanted to know, u can write to Yoobao to request for the list of distributor in Malaysia. That's what we do before we decided to bring in any new brands to Malaysia

If u have comcerns buying power bank, then I suggest u buy a reasonable good brand. We are selling johoyo which is locally made in Malaysia at a comparable price as the china oem. We personally using one of it too. 3 months of regular use and no problem so far.

If u want to go for a higher quality, I suggest u consider brands like MiPow, Anker. I have been selling MiPow for about 2 years and not even a single complaint from customer. As for Anker, the review is very good by amazon users.

bought a philips powerbank (7800), did a full charge.

*
Friend yours one still can use, mine one after 6 month the charging terminal for the power bank broken inside it, official rip.... not to mention the corn capacity which can only charge my ip4 2 times. .. very bad experience with Philips. .. and bought in pikom fair same model with you

Guys, watch out for Hulala powerbank ongoing scam..I couldn't believe that many had fallen into their scheme Philips 30000 mAh powerbank, now, they are on to something even bigger! The so called 50,000 mAh powerbank!

Here's the link - http://www.hulala.com.my/deal/power-bank-50000mah-sfe

Stats:-
Price: RM 109 with free mini powerbank? Seriously?
Dimension: 146 x 76 x 18mm
Weight: Not stated cause they are afraid information might get compromised, cause there is no such thing as 50,000 mAh capacity in such small dimension and price.

In contrast to that, let's compare with the original 15,600 mAh Yoobao powerbank:-

Link: http://www.yoobao.com/en/product.asp?b_id=...m_id=0&a_id=687

Price: RM 175
Dimension: 212 x140 x 35mm
Weight: 380g

Fake China made powerbank are usually overrated rather than the usual 1%-50% of it's said capacity. The Philips powerbank scenario could be easily avoided because anyone could have easily search for archive of such product in the Philips official site/reliable sources. Whatever product seems too good to be true please do your research before buying la doh.gif

Only the greedy and the lazy ones will buy this... cos if one have search and read, he/she will know that power bank at the price are fake and unreliable. Cos to fit in a 50,000mAh into that size, you will need lithium polymer battery which are customised to the shape. and the companies able to do that are the few big shot like samsung, panasonic and we all know their products dont come cheap!
So for those who bought it, you just labelled yourself with the word "GREED" and LAZY

Dont think there will be any power bank that have international warranty. But u try to google around.. but my advise is buying there will save a lot of hassle. cos u will need the adapter to charge it too.

That's the malaysian mentality. Rather listen to others than search for information themselves. Worse, some will say "im not good in this phones and gadgets ma, thats y I ask the seller lor" So do you think a profit driven seller will go tell u, "bro.. this power bank ah.. i buy from my supplier ah.. n he get it from China.. n we take things very cheap there.. u buy original very expensive and low capacity.. this one.. 30K... high high capacity but cheap cheap only.." no right? He probably will just tell u, "this one 30K, big capacity and cheaper than the branded one. the 10K can charge 3 times? this one u do the calculation la.."

After u bought it and does not perform well n go back to him... he will have another version.. "Aiyah.. cheap one is like that lor.. at least still can charge 2 times. your phone note 2 wor.. capacity also big"

Yoobao is good, but too bad too many fakes around. A lot of sellers claimed that theirs are original cos got hologram, but little that they know even the fake one also got hologram now. And worse, the pin can also be checked on line and verified to be genuine.. The only was to confirm its ori, is buying it through the authorised dealer. Problem is, how many of users really buy from the authorised dealers? Most rather pay Rm20 lesser and get it from someone else that claim theirs is ori too..

I doubt more than 30% people knows who are yoobao authorised distributor in Malaysia.

im still in early stage test mode and wonder how many times can i charge my iphone by using this 20000mAh power bank .. china brand ( DOCA ) but so far very impressive ..

Hi all,

I'm looking for a small and reliable power bank for my iPhone 4S.

Just for emergency use (while outside), so maybe 1 or 2 charges before I have to charge the power bank again.

Any recommendation?

Many thanks!

bought it from Courts Singapore at $129 (RM330~).

pros:
super slim and very easy to pack (16.5mm thick)
dual high amp USB ports (max 3.6A total)
charge both battery pack and devices (bypass function)
Sony lithium polymer battery (2 x 5000mah)
quick charge (max 1.6A input)
1000 cycles

cons:
price (lol)
only single microusb cable included*

* bought several 4-in-1 usb cable for RM10, so no big deal

We got johoyo 13000mAh. 215gm. Or 8800mAh 170gm. Or u want to go for MiPow? One of my. It's trusted brand.. But capacity only 8000mAh. Otherwise, other brands like Anker also good.. Great reviews in US. But we are not selling it. A forumer named iSmartPower selling it.

Yep 20-100% for 1 full power bank charge. Per charge takes about 2 hours. i will try again and update here since i have only done it 1 cycle.

Now i re bought the Innergie 6800 and still charging 2.4 times only so i'll run more cycles for the Innergie and leave the Patriot alone. Innergie also charges in about 2 hours & the form factor is so much better, the Trio cable means i only need 1 to charge iP5 with adapter and the same cable to charge the power bank.

Anyone here that has the form factor of Innergie and can charge 4 times i'll be interested.

I'm using ProMini M8. Been using it to charge iphone 5 and Nexus 4 simultaneously and still have 50% charge. I like the form factor as many powerbank will be "fat" or bulky. It's only slightly wider than iphone 5 and 1 1/2 times thicker.

I've been searching hi and low for a good powerbank and I guess I've found it. Now time to look for Innergie MagicCable Duo with lightning to complete it.

im afraid there is no way to detect 100% originality for Yoobao if you buy from other seller that not getting from mobile dot com. They can tell you that its original but no proof on what they claim unless you check with yoobao on that.

for example.

Yoobao sell to mobile dot com and mobile dot com sell to reseller with sticker then to consumers. you have the sticker from mobile dot com as prove. Anything happen, look for reseller or direct to mobile dot com.

example 2

Seller from China claimed they get from yoobao (no proof) sell to reseller in malaysia (might be a victim too) then to consumers (might be another victim). Anything happen, consumer go to reseller. Reseller said need to claim from distributor which is from china. then after 3 months still no news.. so who is the real victim?

my opinion la. if im going to pay for an original item, i would rather go direct to authorised reseller than paying lesser to someone claimed to be authorised but without proof.

Alright i have tried the Innergie 6800 (2.5 times) and also the Patriot Fuel 9000 (4 times) for iP5. Both charges in under 2 hours. Form factor the Innergie wins hands down, but it is expensive. It does comes with a Magic cable Trio though.

I think the most reliable one are either pineng and yoobao, i personally had use both and both are good, but im more inclined towards pineng powerbank because it has digital battery indicator, so u know how many power left in there rather than the normal plain indicator. Btw the pineng powerbank is original, any of you guys interested can check my sig.

http://store.mipow.com/us/power-cube-8000l...-ipad-mini.html

This is the lightning version but currently not available in Malaysia just yet. 8000mAh. Insurance coverage by Allianz. 1 year warranty.

In Malaysia we currently have only the 8000A which is for iPhone 4 and iPad 3 and older. But there is a USB slot that you can use for lightning cable.

http://www.connect2u.my/category-53002.html

We have last unit left for 8000A silver. Let me know if you are interested so I can offer a special deal for you.

Thank you

I bought yoobao and its original. When charged iphone 4s no noise. But got noise when charge htc butterfly. Maybe because its sucking more power from it. But basically it can’t charge Butterfly because its require 2A i think

Can I just check how you guys determine the Yoobao that you bought are original since there are so many sellers who claimed its original item but the price is ridiculously cheaper than what mobile dot com sell?

I do check the security number at this website , and its original

another method is the FCC , CE , ROHS symbol ... you can take a look the difference ..

original :
1. [ at the power bank itself ] the symbol * FCC , CE , ROHS * as u can see in the picture , plus got some serial number under the symbol
2. there is no 'compliant' words under the ROHS symbol
3. there is no recycle logo
4. at the packaging there is 2 types of stickers , 1 with the security code + yoobao logo ( u need to scratch to get the code ) , another sticker shows yoobao logo ( 3D when u reflect near the light )

# the best is enter the security code to check if its original or grade AAA

http://www.sz12365.net/fangweimachaxun/en/

http://www.yoobao.com/en/Services.asp?lgy_id=193

fake :
1. [ at the power bank itself ] all symbol * FCC , CE , ROHS * seems bold , there is no serial number under the symbol
2. got 'compliant' words under ROHS symbol
3. got extra symbol - recycle logo
4. at the packaging there is only 1 type of sticker , just the security code + yoobao logo

# the easy way to detect if the power bank original or fake , how long the warranty ... 1 week / month = grade AAA .. 1 year = original ... they don't dare give you 1 year warranty for grade AAA power bank

that's what i know how to detect original power bank or not

so far, the most trustworthy brand for me is MiPow... although the capacity is quite low, but its sufficient for emergency use..

Innergie Powercell Duo 6800 mAh. Can charge iP5 for 2.5 times, each charge takes < 2 hours. very light and small size. At first i also thought that it's not good but after using it for a while it is very portable. And it has the 3 in 1 cable but without lightning. If price does not matter, it's $270

I only need to charge for once a day at 4pm so this is very good. I switched off all useless things so phone can last for 8 hours for my day use.

johoyo is a local manufacturer brand. All these while they are focusing in photography accessories and rechargeable batteries. This year they started to penetrate in power bank business...

so, it's the 1st malaysia made power bank.

basically its not that hard to detect if the power bank is grade AAA or original ( for YOOBAO ) .. for imported original YOOBAO ( not under mobile dot com ) , you can identify at the packaging

* at the packaging there is 2 types of stickers , 1 with the security code + yoobao logo ( u need to scratch to get the code ) , another sticker shows yoobao logo ( 3D when u reflect near the light )

if got this 2 stickers means original ...

Thru Lepow Official Website. There is a verification page where you can verify if yours is genuine or not by key in the PIN No. which come with the product.

Not really... Most power bank in the market do not put the exact capacity. They tend to up the capacity to create a marketing advantage. Especially those 20k n above. Try asking the seller to open up the power bank and you will know how much is the actual capacity in it.

the safest is to buy ORIGINAL and well known brand such as yoobao , mipow , mili , pineng , energizer , sony etc.

the most dangerous is no brand / grade AAA power bank ... the capacity is not like what stated on the packaging ... 20000mAh , 30000mAH , reality is less then that

I never really trusted those China made powerbank including Yoobao.. I rather pay more for SONY powerbank rated at 2000MAh or 4000Mah than those China made 10,000MAh powerbanks.

Yup.. That's y we rather sell johoyo which is made in Malaysia. And to ensure the built quality, we even randomly pick and open up the power bank to make sure it's really as claimed. While the capacity is not as per claimed, at least we know that the soldering of the circuit board is good.. At least better than those oem china brands. We make sure all item are safe before selling.. I don't think anyone with common sense would rather pay cheaply on something not reliable than paying slightly more for something with good safety profile.

Yes.. But too bad most Malaysian seller prefer to go for a lower cost so they can earn more. Just look at those MIC products around us, inferior quality. And look at those MIC products in the USA, all are high quality. People are willing to pay more to get a higher quality end products. It's the business ethics, not the market.

true. But bro in USA a lot of these things are cheap and usually made in China. Cheap in US expensive in Malaysia. :S weird system we live in. I like US for this onething. You can literally get anything over thr... and cheaper too smile.gif
n yes made in USA products are quality but super expensive. Usually Made in China which goes to US goes through a lot of quality check. I think in Malaysia a bit not perfect also boleh la lol. I just dont get it. China is near to MY compared to USA then why MY more expensive? politics smile.gif

Few reason.
1. Government tax. If u look at the index of our tax, u will find its kinda outdated. custom will tax based on the material of the item. If that material is made of multiple materials, then they will tax u based on whichever they find first.. Let say, plastic, rubber, aluminium.. They will tax u based on your justifications, if u are present or sale, any they preferred

2. Quality of products. When u import in bulk from china, there tends to have faulty units. Let say u import 1000 pieces of power bank. Based on the price you are paying, there is a difference in the % of faulty units. So seller have to take into consideration when selling it. And the coverage of warranty too... That's y the longer the oem offer u warranty, it become more expensive as the risk if going faulty is higher in a long run.

3. Reseller - especially new item, people tends to maximize their profit margin. If product A just launched in Malaysia, they will proce it as high as possible. But once there are competitors, they will drop the price. So the early adopters will pay a premium price to have it earlier... And worse, some greedy reseller will tell you nice and sweet stories so u ended up buying it overpriced..
