QUOTE(Vinz lee @ Jan 18 2013, 08:38 AM) I heard Yaobao before, but theres quite many fakes one out there. It stated 20,000mah but actually inside not 20,000mah yoobao don't have 20000mAh if I'm not mistaken the usual ones from yoobao are 13000, 11200, 6600, etc. the max i've seen from yoobao is 13k. the 20k one should be counterfeit product

QUOTE(KMRMY @ Jan 18 2013, 08:59 PM) how big is the power needed to charge iphone 5? the capacity of iphone5 is 1440mAh. the powerbanks' capacity need to be reduced by around 30% (due to energy loss). do the maths yourself

QUOTE(locozz03 @ Jan 22 2013, 03:11 AM) I would say this is partially true only for unwellknown brand power bank, my energizer XP4003 rated at 4000mAH and I can fully charged my iphone 5 about 3 times....3x1440mAH=4320mAH which exceeded the rated capacity of the powerbank itself....somemore energizer is the only brand which currently offering 3 years warranty... my calculations are for Yoobao those other cina brand will get even worse. maybe more well know brands like sony or eneloop will provide a better capacity loss per total capacity ratio

QUOTE(dr0olingb0at @ Jan 22 2013, 11:44 AM) Well in Yoobao's website I once saw that the efficiency loss can go up to 35% (I hope I read it wrongly) Anyway I have ordered a YB Magic cube 4400mAh, should be enough for 2 charges. Didn't need that much of power. Just as emergency. There is some thread selling 12000mAh china brand at RM70 up. My sister used it and it could charge her S3 for 4 times (she said). Sound OK for that price.. 4400mAh can charge for 2 times or maybe 2.5 for 10% to 100% IIRC 35% efficiency loss is possible, depending on surrounding factors and of course age of the powerbank

QUOTE(neo.liv @ Jan 22 2013, 04:22 PM) what may happen if i charge my phone wif a china brand power bank? there are loads of china brand powerbanks around. if we are talking about Yoobao (and I mean original ones, not those fake or imitations), you shouldn't worry much other brands.. not really sure but i think the worst problem you'll face generally is fast discharge of your powerbank (some 20k mAh will lose to quality 5k mAh)

QUOTE(neo.liv @ Jan 23 2013, 09:38 AM) Okay thanks! Btw which power bank would u recommend? if you want a decent and lower budget one i'll definitely recommend yoobao. if you got the money and wanna go for good ones i recommend eneloop. I got friends using both and no complain so far. QUOTE(victorwan @ Jan 23 2013, 10:30 AM) I am thinking to get YooBao 13000mAH powerbank. I have gone thru their website and the online manual and it mentioned that this model needs about 15 hours to fully charge it. My concern is if I did not charge it fully within 15 hours and most of the time to switch off the charging of the powerbank device at about maybe 5 to 7 hours, will it SPOIL the powerbank? usually what i'll do is just leave my powerbank on charge overnight. not sure whether it will spoil or not but i'll try to do a full discharge and full charge at least once per week

QUOTE(victorwan @ Jan 23 2013, 11:07 AM) Yeah, I am thinking to do charging overnight but it will be only about up to 8 hours. Cannot afford to leave it for 15 hours when need to go out. Are you using YooBao 13000mAh? If yes, how many time can charge the device before it needs to be charge again? Can charge iphone 5 and ipad 2 directly using iphone or ipad cable, right? a fully charged 13000mAh yoobao can charge iphone from 10% to 100% around 4.5~5.5 times. not sure about that.. usually when my friend reach his dorm at 6pm he'll just leave it at charge until next morning 7am. around 13 hours lah. i'm using 5200mAh now.. need to charge around 6~7 hours only. can charge iphone for 2~3 times, which is enough for me

QUOTE(kenlui @ Feb 3 2013, 11:44 AM) Still can't decide on yoobao on eneloop. Can't resist yoobao for it's price but at the same time unable to decide on which model to choose from. High mAh but big size, and have to get a small one for gf as a gift. As for eneloop, it's more reliable but price is high vs capacity factor. Anyone can give me some suggestion? if budget allow then get eneloop. better charging per capacity, and the look is much better eneloop is much lighter compared to yoobao too.
