QUOTE(leechers @ Jan 23 2013, 12:17 PM)
if you refer to several post behind, i bought s3 instead while waiting for the nexus 4 launch. and when i bought the s3 only then i know that nexus 4 was scheduled to launch the week after.

but then my friend bought this when it was officially launched so i just take some time to play around with it.

the community here is to share and not to quickly overeact and start blindly bashing. my idea is for that list to be pin at the front so that people will know about such issue and what to do when the encounter the same situation.

So what to do if I encounter those problems other than bringing it back to claim warranty? You didn't state solutions in your post. Genuinely interested here because I'm getting an N4 soon

changed to CM now and let's see how's the battery performing~ =D

oh ya, btw, which kernal that you guys used with CM?
*

if you want to stick with CM based kernel, try thracemerin's kernel. it is stock cm kernel+ the hsic wakelock patch. nothing fancy but should be very stable.
QUOTE(faiz2036 @ Jan 23 2013, 12:12 PM)
i believe he not getting the nexus 4 because before this he plan to buy nexus4. because cannot wait little bit longer, he end up buying S3.
*

i see, s3 is a good phone too, my friend runs a simple aosp build and it is definitely fast. hard to so see the difference in performance with the N4

no... not S3... it's a rip off! exynos 4412 still using A9 core... mali-400 gpu... pentile screen... omg...

it's fast if all u do is just flip home screen... cool2.gif

if want to see real performance, check with benchmarking tool.

my new Antutu score: 19106. no overclock yet. just optimization on stock kernel and rom.

i still have not decide if i want to work on to release a new ROM. last time i did it for SGW, it took so much effort:

- 10% create best ROM for SGW
- 90% answering noob questions like "i follow everything but cannot flash your ROM! help!"... doh.gif

damn you don't settle for second best eh tongue.gif tbh S3 looks fast for me because my previous phone is Desire Z, and G1. so anything that is faster than that seems very very fast blush.gif

use harsh's method la. put disclaimer that you are just sharing your personal ROM, no support would be given whistling.gif tongue.gif.

this my favourite previous ROM, ILWT CM7 for Desire Z. the most flexible ROM out of the box. he started with a clean base and users can just add in as they want. mana tau can make for nexus 4 thumbup.gif

tried franco with minco, not that good thought. anyway, will use the stock CM kernal first and see how.

btw, nobody suggests Bricked kernal? It was very good back in time when i was using sensation.  blush.gif
*
I wanted to! sad.gif but I'm so keen on trying the PA rom.. so maybe later when I am back on stock ROM then I'll try the Bricked kernel tongue.gif Btw there's also Faux Kernel which apparently works on all JB 4.2 ROMs! yawn.gif And the FauxClock App looks like it can control maaaaany stuffs! But it costs $4.99.. sigh

actually the stock rom is already unbelievably fast. my friend's having a note 2 and played with my N4, he's got shocked by the responsiveness of the N4, ultra fluidity. We used to flash tonnes of roms and tweaked many stuff on our SGS, good times.

nowadays flashing custom ROMs isn't really for smoother performance but more to getting more options and features smile.gif
