this morning i found a dead shrimp on the floor. i suspect the shrimp with the eggs have jump from the aquarium. coz i not seen her today.

why la wanna jump jump.

something freaked her up lo... mine also same thing... but they're hunted by bigger fish la... haha

normally, she is aggressive. all fish and others shrimp will give her VIP way. hemm they make some revenge maybe

hi, so long didn't involve in forum.
while outstation around Sarawak, i manage to visit waterfall such as Ranchan at Serian.. it is beautiful & nature at it's best. while swimming, i felt something bite my legs, so i stand still. i found out that there are many small fishes around, biting my legs. it was like free fish spa!

so i treasure more, slowly searching underwater.. i found out there are many kind of shrimp too! some of the fish i found looks just like SAE.

enough intro, i manage to bring back some DW & stones but how can i bring those LS to KL ? how to pack?

bring LS can get problem with custom or not?

same country no problems with customs. only if u visit reef n took back corals will have problems. question is : will the shrimps/fishes survive the postage? have to double bag or triple bag it n hope for the best.

emm LS in the plane. hope the pressure/temperature in the cargo area dont kill them.

i use to courier shrimp to sabah n sarawak from kl , just normal packing only ,

but i dont know wheater can bring back from there by flight or not?

for packing, its gonna be check in luggage for sure. u cannot pump the bag full with air, otherwise it will burst inside your luggage.

so i would recommend to put some water inside and then seal it with a lot of room for air expansion. also, double bag it to ensure leak free.

another alternative is to put the bag inside a tupperware and then tape the lid. with the outer rigid packing, then u'll have less chance of your things puncturing or crushing ur packed shrimps..

and dun worry, the shrimps wun freeze in the air cargo. probably will be quite cold though...

i think i have some problem with brown algae at the wall of the aquarium. i dont have my nitrate reading. maybe i will buy test kit today to get the reading.

last i check ammonia is 0ppm

have any suggestion? my tank have neon tetra, guppy, ghost shrimp
have several moss, anubias, pegaga
light 11w 6700K

get some otto and also nerite snails...
will solve the problem

45cm pro led z series
1 liter co2 with manual regulator

i just want to ask, any beginner plants to start with? i like iwagumi style with HC but i heard its kinda hard to start with. Can i start with staurogyne or glosso? sorry for a newbie question, whats the difference canister and HOB?

erm.. i guess HOB will do the job just fine as long as you use the correct media. personally i'll prefer canister because of its media volume. down the road you will see the value of the canister's media volume, but HOB will do the job just fine
as far as starter plants go... i dont think there is a real starter plant, if you dont give any heart to ur scape even java moss will die on u lol... glosso/ hair grass should be okay plants to start with. most important is remember that it is ur tank, choose plants you like, even if you fails u learn something pick and choose other's suggestion will turn ur tank into other ppl's tank
btw did u use any cooling system? unless your tank is in a airconditioned room, you should consider gettin a fan bro.

Just want to ask a question. Is the aquarium with a closed enclosure/cover on top not suitable for planted tank? I already got one system at my home and planning to convert it to planted tank, and yes Im still a newbie in this matter

Then, it lead me to next matter; the fan. Do you think that I should remove the top cover? It will be no purpose if I install any fan in that closed cover
