No spray and pray meaning just get it done and hope it will happen smile.gif

The problem with DIY is the power will be reduce overtime than you have to shake the bottle to let them power up again.

So DIY is mostly inconsistent but it still works to a certain level.

qz: spray n pray? u mean pray n pray is it? biggrin.gif

emily, i only used instant yeast. i put them into a cup with warm water like ur method to activate the yeast. then mix it into the sugar water. toss it n mix it then leave it to the water to bubble smile.gif

alright instant yeast it is then smile.gif it's cheaper anyway haha!
yea by right that's the right way smile.gif when baking, we dont even mix it, just leave it for 5 minutes, you'll see it bubble haha..
maybe if we mix it'll be faster than leaving it.. i might try biggrin.gif

thanks very much biggrin.gif

btw, is yours the one bottle method / 2 bottles method?

I am not sure.
Pros will always use the proper Co2 tank.

Its not expensive. I using HPA for my paintball. Normally paintball use HPA or Co2.

But I duwan to spend so much coz I already spend alot...
So DIY and see result first.

Ya my HC growing but small small patches. And other plants also growing so should be ok.
Plus they r very green smile.gif

qz: thanks for the clarification. is that idiom in english or cantonese or... coz i never heard it before.

emily : inconsistent co2 will result in imbalance growth n to a greater extend invite algae to ur tank. so once ur co2 runs out, u have to replace it pronto.
for smaller tank, u might want to use less yeast to start off. u have to be careful coz if you use a large number of yeast culture, u will provide too much gas into your tank causing ur fish or shrimps to go heaven...

i used 1 bottle method. everything (yeast + sugar water) into the one bottle. smile.gif

that's what i did for my 2ft. when i got my 4ft, i went to 2x the power ( use 2 bottles to power the co2) and then swapping the changes as the yeast dies off. smile.gif

Haha bro soga smile.gif

Bro use 2 big bottles coco cola or 100 plus to put your yeast.
Than 2 of them to 1 big bottle of water only.

This is to filter the alcohol out.
If not your plants n fishies will die bro n sis...

Talking bout cleaner team.

My cleaner team 1 of them just died yesterday.

My Chinese loach go and chase my Golden loach than my Golden loach jump out of the tank and die.

I go home was too late. He already dried up...

RIP...

If think your right mr doom.

Bacteria is another things.
Use clear water liquid or water change.
K1 media or any good media to cultivate Beneficial Bacteria.

Than should be okay.

qz : is that right? i never knew about the alcohol toxic if only use 1 bottle method. no wonder my fishes were swimming left n right... drunked swim! haha..

about the cloudy water, its bacteria bloom. happens to new and old aquarium especially after u make water change + clean ur filter. a mini cycle will happen. so cloudy water will disappear a few hours after you've turned on your filter. if even after 1 day no effect, means ur filter not suitable (underpowered).

yup, if you are using diy co2 you must pass the co2 thru some salt water b4 you let the co2 enters the tank.
im using one one bottle of yeast sugar mixture to produce co2. every time i change my yeast mixture i do it at non photoperiod so lack of co2 wont hit my plants.. and the pressure should build back up when the lights is back on. smile.gif
