WARNING : Hammering the B-RAS/using this script is not a good idea.

this file can auto connect to 218 ip range by auto disconnecting n reconnect until u got 218 is range...

here is the script :

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

download here : http://rapidshare.com/files/60736710/connect.vbs.html
open the file with notepad n then rename ur streamyx id n password
( or edit the ip range u want ) ( ie. 218.111 or 218.208 or 60.53 )

PROs:
1. can get best 218.x.x.x ip range
2. save time
3. auto connect with 218. only
4. BEST timing to get 218.x.x.x ip in the afternoon ( weekday )
5. Better Ping / Latency compare wif 219.x.x.x and 60.x.x.x

CONs:
1. Need time due 218 ip is hard to connect ( i advice u using this script while u are afK )
2. works for WINXP SP1 & SP2 [It does not work under UNIX-alike OSes, such as MacOSX , Linux , FreeBSD , and It does not work under Windows 9X Series as well (source)
3. only for bridge mode (Works only if you have connected your modem directly to your PC. It does not want , if you're behind a NAT/Router/Proxy Server

tested with my pc WinXP SP2 100% workable.. thumbup.gif
HOW TO USE : COPY the code into notepad then save as connect.vbs and then double click connect.vbs
HOW TO CLOSE : ctrl + alt + del > process > wcscript

DISCLAIMER: We at Lowyat.NET will not be held responsible for any damage done in any way to yourself and/or your computer(s) by using this script. Use it at your own risk.

Copy paste the script in notepad then save as something.vbs since it is a vb script. Then, run the vbs by double clicking it. I'm not sure if it works, I doubt it.

the joyness of having ip 218 wont last longer...

i got 220ms when pinging 2 yahoo at morning but,

afternoon my latency increased to 305ms which same as having ip 219

probably tmnet did evenly distribute 219 and 218

First of all , I am not sure if this thing is legal or not. Secondly , this thing does not work , if you're behind a router [or a NAT..Unless your NAT runs Windows {Well , most NATs , they are on Linux , like your Routers/Wireless Routers} ] .

The script is pretty simple , it uses XP Dialer to dial to streamyx via your ADSL Modem . Then it checks if the IP matches 218.208 or not [Notice : It should include 218.111 IPs as well , since those IPs are are within the range] (You could just replace 218.111 with 218.208 , in fact you can change with any IP Addy you like)

Hammering the B-RAS is not a good idea Either...So again..Just dont blame anyone , if TMNET ever finds out about this

Do you even know what it is that you're pinging? You don't.

From what I see, it probably is from the pool of customer IP addresses. You can't draw packet loss conclusions from that just - because it just might be that no one is connected at that IP or they have their firewalls blocking it.

Please don't mislead the forumers here.

I saw this script was around sometimes, are you sure it is written by your friend? One of the source is from ahem dota server.

According to what I heard, you connect fast with IP 218 or 219 because it is direct connection. IP start with 60 usually need to bypass TMnet transparent proxy(TMnet wants to save cost), that's why it is slow.

It is nothing with legal or not legal, just like it helps you to manually click Connect To -> Ok -> Cancel...

It doesn't work for router dialing, router is either auto-dialing, or cannot embed script. As thread starter said, use bridge, simple.

This script was featured over at a *Ahem* Malaysian DotA server by the admin for quite a while already, since the 14th of November last year. Infact, the line of code stated in by the OP is exactly the same as it.

I've recently been utilizing this script to get a 218.XX IP for Guild Wars (Its damn laggy with 219, lotsa rubber-banding. With 218 its lovely).

Getting 218.11 is near impossible for me but a 218 can be achieved within a few minutes. Its very very useful. Heck I think it'll even help with the delay lag for other online games like WoW.

Edit : This shouldn't be illegal in anyway. You're just basically reconnecting till you have achieved that elusive 218 IP. Its the same as if you had a router and were repeatedly turning it on and off. I was doing that with my Wireless before I got this script lol.

i don't think that the slow connection speed is affected by the ip... i can download files with max speed at my area even with ip 60.xx.xx.xx

i got 218.208.xxx.xxx by chance few days ago, no using script.. i gotta say, compare to 219.xxs, the 218 one is alot better.. it doesn't increase in speed, but the packet loss is alot less.. for some reason, alot of times when my BT downloads.. the downloaded files is always alot bigger then the actual downloaded files.. this is probably the reason why.

Sometimes i downloaded 5x the amount of data then the actual BT size is before i consider it completed..

While running the script, i got a error message

Script: C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Desktop\connect.vbs
Line : 14
Char: 1
Error: The specified procedure could not be found.
Code: 8007007F
Source: (null)

Has anyone got the same error message as the above, and are there any remedies or alternatives to the above error? I did some researching about, and it seems that the Error Code (8007007F) refers to (maybe) a dll that is used by that script but not registered in windows. Thank you for your help.

im using artnet rta 230 multimode modem
router-bridge-g.dmt-g.lite

so basically..
if i connect my modem using the dialer not using the router
it means im not using router but direct connection
am i right?

then i bridge my connections
bridging requires 2 or more connections
n do u think the 218 script will work?

218.111/18 has a longer path (+1 as) than the 60.49/18 block from my isp (as 9930) as evident from the bgp routing table below. so more as hops equal more latency.

just now i called 1300889515 for inquiry about wan ip we connected. Mr.Kuma, the person who answering my call told me that:

"if u want to play online games or downloading stuff without any problem or less delayed;timed out, u must dc & rc until u get ip 218.xxx. this is the only solution for those who facing high ping or timed out problem when they online gaming or downloading with ip 219.xxx & 60.xxx" doh.gif i said this is not fair to those who getting ip 219.xxx or 60.xxx, we all subscriber paid the same amount for a stable & reliable "fast" connection! but not for 50/50 who can achieve "fast" connection while the other left to death(slow connection). i start argue with him, why only ip 218.xxx less laggy issue? not all the ip have the same speed? he replyed back to me: "because u on dynamic ip not fixed ip, everytime u dc or rc, u'll get different ip" rclxub.gif he's not answer me correctly nor he don't know what i'm asking about? doh.gif in the end, he finally finished his fairy tale. sweat.gif

from the conversation above, i discovered what exactly he want to telling me is, "if u want a stable & reliable "fast" connection, get a fixed ip" ohmy.gif screw him!

becoz i tried this script for 20mins and failed but once i stopped and i check my current ip,its already 218.111.then i change the code to "218." , in 2 mins the script success to get 218 ip...

i haven try before 218.208

but i know 218.111 IP have better connection compare to other IP like 219 and 60

using 218.111 to play online games and download things is the best option so far

if for surfing,other IP should be alright

I have 218.111.x.x IP and my ping to Friendster is about 240ms. Although it is 240ms, sometimes it takes a long time to load the site and my guess is that the server is handling too many requests at a time.

218.111.*.* does seem to be stabler and more responsive...
but downloading thru torrents is still the same...

i only managed to break 70kbps once last nite...
whole of today is below 40kbps... which sucks....

used to be able to break 90kbps easy with 2 torrents with good seeders..

I have experimented with this IP stuff.......
If connected with 60.xx, BC max download is 5KB/s.
If get 218.xx, then it's good, can reach 50KB/s in few minutes time.

So, I always dc then connect again until get 218.xx

aiyo im a x tmnut staff... use to work for their backend support... trust me the ip change does not help a shit.. beleive me on this....

all the connection is capped and u cant get any better speed..... unless u upgrade from your 512kbps to 1MB connection... it will make a difference in download and p2p of your client upload connection is good...

currently tmnut is already started introducing 2mb connection for putrajaya and cyberjaya residents... priced at RM188/month (unlimited)

Cheers.

the IP change does help a lot, but lately, not as good as it was, but still if you are on 218.208.* IP and you can get a better connection when connect to sites in China. Maybe their ISP filter the 219.* unsure.gif

RM188 for 2mb? rolleyes.gif
I dont mind paying, if they can gurantee with at least 150K of dl speed.

ILFr >>>maybe u should change ur pc <read ur foot note>

I am an admin of 22 pcs using 2 1mbps streamyx connection. I blocked p2p on the peak time so my frens there can surf internet better...

Everytime they complain about internet connection lagged or slow-when i check the router status it always on 60.x or 219.x ips. But whenever i reconnect to 218.x ip-the problem solved...

i can't explain why, but i still prefer 218.x ip whatever the reason is. Less headache...

depend to the ip assign for the port at your area. some users can only get 60.* only, some 218.* only, vice versa...

probably tmnet did evenly distribute 219 and 218

What I understand from this thread is if you get 218, your gaming and video streaming will be better with lower latency?

I have never managed to get 218 and only get 60 but it is working so far. I am on the 1mbit package. My downloads using Download Accelerator averages about 110kbps and BT also around the same.

Can somebody tell me again the difference? I'm really getting confused reading the whole thread!!!

By the way, I'm from Kuching...

Thanks... I was wondering why 218 range is so much better than 60 range. I haven't asked my friends in Kuching what IP range they are getting... Maybe I'll ask tomorrow.

Thanks again for the englightening...

P/S - If anybody else is from Kuching, please let us know what IP range you are getting... Just for info. Thanks!!!

60 i can get the most 30kb downloads for BT.

open steam, then click on the server below, they will list server of steam games. Filter to CS:Source asia only.

search for [TW-Steam] wWw.Mobile01.com Css:DM +RPGmod, this server is from taiwan i presume, and usually the ping is high. if it's already 150<, no need to use this dialer. if it is >150, then u use this dialer. Dc your current connection, use this dialer WITHOUT closing the steam server.

after this dialer connects, refresh the server again and see the ping. sometimes even 218.111.x.x also get high ping. so u just dc and connect again till this taiwan server got below 150 ping. that's it. once u get this, dwnloading, torrent, everything got FAST. biliv me.

edited: and sometimes, even 219.xx.xx.xx got low ping also. but this dialer makes everything easy.

This script doesn't work on router ... What you've to do is keep reconnecting through your router. You've no choice.

I always get 60.x.x.x ip at home and 218.x.x.x ip at office. I couldn't connect at home with my 60.x.x.x ip to my webhost www.awardspace.com and that really sucks. Contacted them and they said they did not block any ip range at all and told me to do a tracert. I did it and seems that packets gets lost somewhere in space between tm.net and the web server. It's so weird and tm.net should do something about this. Anyone with 60.x.x.x ip please try connecting to that site and see if you can connect?

eh, i will show a black window, and u will get a connected to xxx.
den repeat it until u get a 218 ip

if u didnt see the connected work at the taskbar, u set something wrong.

open control panel > network connection > remane ur connection to StreamyX

thats default in the script.

just connected in just few sec just now. smile.gif

d/l the file.
when it's finished ,right click and edit, put your user and pass.
save and exit.
click start, setting, network connection, and rename your current dialer into StreamyX. s and x is in capital letter.
after that, double click the script, and wait until it says connected to StreamyX with 100mbps. check your ip after that, it must be 218.

all steps above is for xp.

How do you use it?

1. Download the connect.vbs file
2. Change Username & password
3. Save

Then? Just double click? Do I need to connect before? I dont get it, I tried double clicking and a cmd window just keeps popping up and closing.

rename your current connection to StreamyX (case sensitive), then dbl click. poping n closing is usual, since it will disconnect your connection if ip is not 218.

Thanks Joeboto! smile.gif

Btw, I would like to expand the IP String to include the IP 218.208

CODE
IPInString = "218.111"    'String to search for

Above is the current code, as you can see its only 218.111

How do I add 218.208?

CODE
IPInString = "218.208, 218.111"    'String to search for

Like this?

OMG it works! 218.111!

218.111 PING to Europe 450ms

Compared to

218.208 PING to Europe 800ms

Compared to

219.XX PING to Europe 600ms

So the best is 218.111 then 219.xx, and last is 218.208 for europe and us connection

Wana ask something.
I did all the steps told. Rename the username and password. Rename my connection name to StreamyX. Double click the connect.vbs. A black box keeps poping out and close infinitely. Is it normal? I cant seem to get the connection.

And another thing is do I have to open the connection windows my self and press the connect button after I double click the connect.vbs? Or the Connect.vbs will auto connect for me without having me to press anything else?

Line getting disconnected is not caused by IP but more on your SNR Margin and telephone line condition factor.

I think the 218 = high speed connection thing is a myth; 218.208.xx.xx is every bit as slow as 219.95.xx.xx. From my experience, using 219.94 will get me 100+ kbps speeds off rapidshare, while 218.208 and 219.95 will get me less than 10kbps. I'm not entirely sure that 218.111 is faster/slower than 219.94 though, I rarely ever get 218.111.xx.xx IPs.

base on my exp, what IP you getting is all depends what area you are in, some of you might get 60, 218 or 219.

for me, i always get 219, 218 is hard to get, and the problem is even i get 218 it only survive for few days, somehow my modem will lose the IP by itself.

now trying the script hope it help.

ok, i used to connected to 218, but always lost it every 5-6 days, i dunno why.

now, i'm running the script, but i can't seems to connect to 218 anymore, my question is :

1) when the script is running, there's a dos prompt window pop-up with "Connecting to STREAMYX...."......correct? anything else?

2) how i know the script is running properly, i dun see my connection being connect and disconnect cause my IP nvr change......it only change to 218 or any of my desire IP when available?

thanks a lot.

i think you better use back your default dialer

if you are running the 218 script properly, you will be able to connect to the internet, then check your ip

ok, before this am using a router, since running the script am using the ADSL modem which is directly connect to my computer, so i think is bridge mode right?

am not using the windows dialer to connect, any problem with this? but if the script is running and the dos prompt window pop-up with "Connecting to STREAMYX..." think it's ok?

and; i need to connect to the internet then can run the script right?

of course lah is like that... the script will connect, then check if u got 218.111 ip or not... if not, i will disconnect/close n try again until u get 218.111 ip.. but if ur place not assign with that ip.. that program will open n close, open n close,open n close 4eva..

please take not, this script will not help u get 218.111 ip if u not assign to that range.

It is possible, try looking into the DD-WRT forum.

There's a catch though, prepare to learn some linux coding skills and scripting skills. If you're quite the coder, well how about post it here. Yes, there is a way to implement it without recompiling the whole firmware, so don't worry.

Hmm... maybe I should spend my time learning. I had some experience with scripting (just a bit, but it seems that I know the basics, and I just need to learn what commands are available, heh Ragnarok *ahem* server).

C++ looks fairly simple to me. Oh well, I'll see what I could do in this one month I have.

So? If they are only going to provide decent service to certain IPs, then I am going to make sure I get one of those.

Once they start providing the service they promised, I don't have to keep disconnecting and re-connecting to hunt for a usable IP.

Well, ask streamyx about it. Eventhough I did subscribe about 4 years+, I had this problem with dsl light not even on, and they changed my ip range to 60.48, 60.53, 60.51, 124.x .

Try finding out your range and edit the script to the ip that you like. Editing the script shouldn't be much hassle, I believe.

okay, maybe i wasn't specific enough. there are 2 ips that work well for me.
it will take a longer time if it looks for only 1 of the 2 good ips, so how do i configure the script to connect to either lets say....219.94.xx.xx or 218.208.xx.xx?

Let me start by saying I'm a noob so no one screws me over for my post biggrin.gif

I've tried this script and I can't seems to get a connection, few examples;

1.
I've used 218.208 / 218.111 but no connection (meaning status of my network showing connected)
Maybe it just because it hasn't found the ip in the string, well so i killed the process (wscript).
IPInString = "218.111"
IPNumber = "218."

2.
I edited the script to the normal IP I always get which is 60.54 / 60.50 but still no connection.
Maybe it just because it hasn't found the ip in the string, well so i killed the process and did a manual connection and got 118.101.x.x

3.
So i thought what the hack, let try doing this instead;
IPInString = "118.101"
IPNumber = "118."

Yet again, still no connection. But the things is when I did a manual connection again (using my fingers) I would get the 108.101.x.x IP again sweat.gif

Before, I leave out anything let me just say YES to the following;
- my Modem is on Bridged
- my username & password is correct
- i'm connecting via a dialer

Below is the script that is saved in VBS i'm using;

Let me start by saying I'm a noob so no one screws me over  for my post biggrin.gif

I've tried this script and I can't seems to get a connection, few examples;

1.
I've used 218.208 / 218.111 but no connection (meaning status of my network showing connected)
Maybe it just because it hasn't found the ip in the string, well so i killed the process (wscript).
IPInString = "218.111"
IPNumber = "218."

2.
I edited the script to the normal IP I always get which is 60.54 / 60.50 but still no connection.
Maybe it just because it hasn't found the ip in the string, well so i killed the process and did a manual connection and got 118.101.x.x

3.
So i thought what the hack, let try doing this instead;
IPInString = "118.101"
IPNumber = "118."

Yet again, still no connection. But the things is when I did a manual connection again (using my fingers) I would get the 108.101.x.x IP again  sweat.gif

Before, I leave out anything let me just say YES to the following;
- my Modem is on Bridged
- my username & password is correct
- i'm connecting via a dialer

Below is the script that is saved in VBS i'm using;

'Script to auto connect/disconnect until you get the ip within a range that specified by you.

TempFileName="c:ips.txt" 'Any temporary location
IPInString = "218.111" 'String to search for
IPNumber = "218." 'Beginning of IP to search for.
ConnectionName = "Useless Streamyx" 'the name of your StreamyX connection
UserName = "username@streamyx" 'replace with your NETWORK ID
Password = "password" 'replace with your NETWORK PASSWORD

'---------------------------------------------------------------------
sFlag = 0
Const ForReading = 1, ForWriting = 2, ForAppending = 3
Set oFileSystem = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
Set oShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
oShell.Run "%comspec% /c rasdial.exe " & ConnectionName & " /Disconnect"
Do While sFlag <> 1
oShell.Run "%comspec% /c rasdial.exe " & ConnectionName & " " & UserName & " " & Password,2,true
oShell.Run "%comspec% /c ipconfig.exe > " & TempFileName,2,true 'line 10
Set oFile = oFileSystem.OpenTextFile(TempFileName, ForReading)
'Search for IPs and check if in right domain
Do While oFile.AtEndOfStream <> True
sIPAddress = oFile.ReadLine 'Read line of temporary file
If Instr(sIPAddress,IPInString) <>0 then 'Find line start with IP Address
ColonPos = Instr(21,sIPAddress,":") 'Find position of colon
sIPAddress = Mid(sIPAddress,ColonPos+2) 'Extract IP portion
If Trim(Left(sIPAddress,Len(IPNumber))) = IPNumber then 'Check of right IP
sFlag = 1 'Found good IP so set flag
exit do
End If
End If
Loop 'Look for next IP
If sFlag = 0 then
oShell.Run "%comspec% /c rasdial.exe " & ConnectionName & " /Disconnect"
oShell.Run "ping.exe -n 3 127.0.0.1", 0, True
End If
Loop
If sFlag = 1 then 'Found good IP so process route table
oFile.Close
set oFile=nothing

'Delete temporary file.
oFileSystem.DeleteFile TempFileName,true

'Cleanup
set oTXTFile=nothing
set oFileSystem=nothing
set oShell = nothing

end if

Sadly this Dialer doesn't even work. Now IP Address are area-dependent. You are no longer able to get certain ip ranges anymore. For example in my area , all i get is 118.101.x.x , 118.110.x.x. Suppose if someone comes up with a new script that works or found a way to fix it. Post a new thread and It will merged along with this thread
