Through telco, they'll only provide you with 3rd party warranty coverage. Those won't be serviced by Apple btw, so not really a good investment IMHO. Same applies for 2nd year complimentary warranty for those who are on 2-year contact.

Singapore got AppleCare for SGD99, but that only applies for the ones sold there AFAIK.

For 2 years warranty back to manufacturer, only ACPP does that, nothing else. Sad thing is those aren't being sold here.

Even insurance agency may only have them sent to their appointed repair facility (read: mobile phone repair shop). But at least insurance may cover more than just manufacturer defect (e.g: damages, theft, missing device), of which made it a bit better choice compared to smartphone protection by Maxis (also some kind of insurance policy actually, but of course not underwritten by them).

Isn't mean if area that get like 8-10mbps.

Guys/gals,

What do you think about the new i5 plan with surfmore 75? 24 months contract and device price for i5 16GB is $1188.

I like being able to surf 5GB but I know my usage is way much much lesser. I don't like being tied with 24 months contract though.

What's your current usage? If it's around 2GB, perhaps go for outright unit and subscribe for SurfMore 50.

If you don't spend so much in calls and SMS, SurfMore 75 should fit as you only pay-per-use.
Unlike the iValue plans with bundled message/calls at higher monthly commitment fees.

For me, I don't mind 5GB at RM75, and since I rarely exceed phone bills at RM30/month, my monthly usage would be roughly like iValue RM100, but with much higher internet quota.

But 5GB.. Can you finish it? :/

I just started subscribing to data plan (prepaid). My usage is very low. Should be less than 1GB. Sigh, I guess this plan is too much for me. The i5 device price is attractive though.

Hello. Thanks for the feedback.

I don't spend much on calls or SMS. So I think the Surfmore (SM50 more suited than SM75) is ok. Unfortunately, maxis only offer i5 at a discounted price with SurfMore75. I doubt I can finish 5GB. sad.gif

I just want to get the device at a discounted price. Already bought one i5 outright with prepaid plan (another telco). Thinking to get another i5.

5GB is not sufficient for me.

I just finish 20GB in one night. 21mbps speed tested too much for me to handle. I use bitcomet torrent, got around 2.2mb/sec

Rarely using my lousy streamyx 4mbps.

You won't get charge if you use email as bill delivery option.
