QUOTE(hamstrex @ Mar 20 2013, 08:33 AM) Yes. You can use lure, but its gonna be difficult. In EAK, its all about distance if u are doing land based fishing. You need to be able to cast at least 25ft out. I have success with slow sinking lure like the ofmer wonder 50, duel hardcore 50s. But the most successful lure for me is the duo ikakko in dark colours. Its so successful until I've lost 3 units there. Many sad. |

Sorry, I meant 25 over meters. I usually go with light gear, 2-6lbs spinning rod with 6lbs braided line.

QUOTE(hamstrex @ Mar 20 2013, 12:47 PM) i thought only live bait, lure, fly fishing... no dedak allow.. didn't know internal organs are allowed.. i doubt i could cast that far... and i think my gear is not suitable for such fishing mode.. XD trying to reduce my fishing gear soon I dunno la, at one time, it was supposed to be fly n lure only. But nowadays, it seems that everything goes. Quite disappointed with the managements attitude actually.. |

QUOTE(SneakyLeaky @ Mar 22 2013, 09:25 PM) that i was prepared.. however don't you think is normal for one to feel frustrated after so many tries and yet still zero catches? i am fishing at 'wild' areas but many people fish there too... i saw them getting palm size catfish and that's about it.. i know subang lake so well and i still come back with 0 catches. when ur expectation is low, usually you won't get disappointed nor frustrated. i take that opportunity to test and learn new casting technique...on another note, my temu jin temu fan just now... fark... almost kissed goodbye to my $$$... |

QUOTE(faujc99 @ Mar 24 2013, 05:07 AM) thx vincent, guess i got it. 1 more question: a RM1-2k rod and a RM500 rod, is there such huge difference? i can understand guides affecting casting range, real seat and handle are for personal preference, of course balancing as well, but what else in there that makes it so expensive? an expensive rod blank and a normal rod blank, what kind of differences we're talking about? sorry man got a lot questions not all blanks are made equal.also, i'm looking at Daiwa Team rod, cost RM300, looks nice i really like it, or anyone has a better suggestion? (dont like cork handle) thx [attachmentid=3361807] some blanks are lighter, more sensitive and yet have the same strength with a blank with the opposite characteristic. most of the time, a lot of R&D has been put into developing these new lighter and more sensitive blanks, hence we are paying more for the R&D cost and on branding as well. the more reputable blanks like north fork composites, st croix starts from rm500 onwards, fuji titanium guides is around rm1k. u do the maths. |

QUOTE(rorytate @ Mar 25 2013, 09:34 AM) Sure do Bro Inv, I'm looking for a heavy rod, either 10-25 or 14-30lbs class. Please PM me specific item that you need. For reel seat usually it's size 16, but you need to have the ID(Inner Diameter) first. What poundage of blank are you looking for? At least would be able to guesstimate the size of the ID QUOTE(rorytate @ Mar 25 2013, 09:53 AM) Btw, The guides are just a ceramic zirconium coated ler.. Not even fully zirconium guides. Which guides are u referring to? The ones I stripped? Or the ones u bought?Reckon, need to build a highend expensive rod Btw, wanna come and help me with rod building? For the LYN orders. Same time, i help you with your custom lor Sure thing bro! Would love to help. Just need to settle on a date. Let me know when u want to start. |
