QUOTE(Streetrat @ Feb 25 2013, 11:01 AM) Anyone tried fishing b4 at the pay pond in damansara perdama?went there during afternoon to scout for around 15 minutes, so many people fishing there but nothing happen at that time. Can i know why most people there using bait but not lure, they cast and left the rod there(is this btm fishing?), hope to c people use jigging, popping and fly. Different ponds have different house rules. Some r lures only, some r bottom only, some no floats, some cannot use treble hooks, some must bring back the fish caught, some must release back into the pond, some must go commando, some .... Well. U get the drift...

QUOTE(Streetrat @ Feb 26 2013, 10:14 AM) thanks for the explaination, now i understand. do u have any rough idea on what kind of fishing you want to do? luring will cost a bomb. usually those lures catch more humans than fish... haha...

QUOTE(1dollar @ Feb 27 2013, 07:51 AM) GT better than FG. Hehehe Uni, double uni, Palomar, loop knot & Albright are my usuals. The term better is quite subjective. I find gt knot is more bulky than fg knot, snagging during cast, hence it is not exactly better. A properly tied fg knot have the same strength as a gt knot as well.

QUOTE(acheong7 @ Feb 27 2013, 04:19 PM) tying FG has been relatively simple after finding a few youtube vids secret is in keeping the lines tight as you go along yes, keeping the lines tight as u tie is the key. i need help in the form of a diy knot assist, but once u get a hang of things, u can use almost anything to help u keep the lines tight as u tie. pls pls dont pick up the toes habit. ive seen ppl using toes to assist. no doubt that it will work but its quite a sight in public ponds. haha..

QUOTE(max_cjs0101 @ Mar 6 2013, 03:39 PM) I've never used soft plastic before. I have a bag of white grubs and how long would each grub last if the fish takes it? what you can do is use a jig head and tie it around with a bunch of rubberbands. it worked for me.

QUOTE(vioxmonsta @ Mar 10 2013, 03:39 PM) ada, but didn't manage to land my target species. just too strong for my 10-20lbs setup. need something heavier and with stronger drag. in the end, i gave up and went 5-12lbs and play with the asian cat. landed a few.

QUOTE(max_cjs0101 @ Mar 10 2013, 08:40 PM) wah so good catch. what bait did you use? hook size? i always use berkley gulp for the asian redtails. cast it and slow retrieve. hook size 1/0 fits nicely but prone to bending.

QUOTE(vioxmonsta @ Mar 10 2013, 11:25 PM) Bro u faced any problems with those hooks? hook got straightened b4? Most of the size 1/0 or 2/0 local hooks or hooks by owner has the tendency to be straightened if u kena those bigger amazonian. Friend recommended to use the jigging hooks by decoy but those r very pricy. RM21 for a pack of 8 if I'm not mistaken.
