I have a problem with my RT-N14UHP.

  1. It keep getting this severe upload spike on my network. Im not sure where it orignates from.

  2. Also it is suppose to be a 100mbps unifi. When I am using my tablet, I could get 80++ mbps when I am near the router but I keep getting only around 30mbps around my room (upstairs) even after using an extender. It also seem to depend on the time of day, getting a good network in the early morning and severely bad at night. I had unifi technicians coming and check the network and they said the input line is ok. They say the problem is with the router. How can I be sure, and how can we check if the router is actually the problem.

Not sure if you'd consider it, but let me share my story.

My AC68U was also quite hot to the touch. I have it operating 24x7 in the living room with the ceiling fan running. Some time back, I attached a cheap laptop cooler to the router to help cool it down.

No issues till now.

the router still works. if i use 2.4ghz to download, only this band will hang. router is working well and 5ghz is working.

i can ping and log into the router but its just the 2.4ghz is not able to go online.

same thing if i switch to 5ghz. the 5ghz will hang after few hours.

the only way to solve it is to restart the router.

Can you try to delete the current router and redo the setup?

My colleagues has updated the AiCloud in his iOS to the latest version 2.0.0.1.75 and seen like it is okay.

I am using this router + an 8 port switch for my office network.
Recently we have been experiencing frequent disconnections within our office network. Which happens once or twice everyweek, and each time this happens we are disconnected for roughly 5 minutes and then it gets back to normal.

For most applications, the error we got was "ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT"
CCTV network, Google Chrome (when not connected to internet), Microsoft Outlook

dear all, i have just got my unifi 30mb installed yesterday, but the modem router that TM give me is Netis, and the coverage is bad
may i know which asus modem router can replace the netis 2 in 1 modem router?

What's the difference between the AC1300-UHP, AC58u and AC66u routers? I tried using the comparison feature on Asus website but the specs don't really help much.

I think the Mesh network is still in its infancy with lots of room of improvements. I did consider Deco a while ago, but since TP Link themselves stated Unifi/Maxis/Time are not officially supported, i decided to stay away and give AiMesh a try.

Our house is a 3 storey semi-D with lots of walls. Even with AC5300, it's hard to get a decent wifi signal from the furthest bedroom. Our ethernet ports uses CAT3 cables which only limits bandwidth to 10mbps, which pretty much rules out wired mesh.

I've heard a lot of good stuff with Ubiquiti. It's meant for corporate/enterprise, but its product pricing is within consumer affordability and ease-of-use. Only problem is it must be wired mesh.

Yes, I was looking into upgrading to the RT-AC1300UHP after reading about it in the threads and reviews.

Looks really promising. Wasn't sure if it was worth the upgrade tho.

RT-AC86U is a beast but way overbudget tho.
