Yup I don think I need extra features as long as I can utilise that 100mbps.

However, ur point on getting an AP/power line did interest me.

Nvr thought about this to boost WiFi to higher floors.

If u r using one, mind suggesting a reliable AP n wat r the typical cost for a reasonable quality setup ?
*
i install rj45 to Ground floor and 2nd floor. my router is at 1st floor.

using ac68u as my main router bridge to airport extreme at ground floor and airport express at 2nd floor.

u can use your TM router as AP. Two options. RJ45 is the cheapest and most reliable solution but if u dont like to lay cables around your house, can use powerline. cost depends on model. i can just say its not cheap.

Sorry, should be extender mode... I've got no problem with the TP Link... It is only with the Asus that I've experienced dropouts and disconnections... Sometimes I can't connect the Asus router at all, saying password is wrong. After restarting the Asus then only I can connect back.
*
u might wanna try factory reset or update firmware. if problem still persist, contact Asus

Tried already, firmware is up to date out of the box. There was even once the firmware reset itself after turning on from a long break. Sending the router in for warranty claim is one thing, I cannot afford the down time. That's why I'm looking for alternatives here.

The first RT-N12HP I bought for another house as a standalone router, it was super reliable, ran for months without needing to restart to this day. Should be 2 years old by now.

Bought a second unit of the same model for my house as an extender, mana tau performance is so unreliable.

In fact the first reliable unit runs a slightly older firmware in comparison, which makes me think better not to update the firmware of the reliable unit, just in case it screws up like the 2nd unit does.
*
If u think its firmware issue, download the old firmware and flash it to your new unit. Else its gotta be hardware issue.

Under properties for ipv4?
Funnily enough, I just got it to work and it seems to be on the SSID that I set before reset and it's behaving like an AP. I still cant access router settings though.
*
meaning it was not reset?

try hard reset. worst come to worst. set static ip on your pc

Hi Sifus,
Currently using OEM TM router(Unifi50mb package) which placed at my 1st floor back room. I always get slow n on n off wifi connection for my Phone n Smart tv. I planned to buy Asus AC1300UHP. Is that a good choice or over range? Daily usage is 2 phones and Smart tv for NEtflix. PC connected to LAN for download n DOta.

Can recommend any page for detailed review for this router? read the blacktubi review but its too general (No offend Blacktubi bro). Im just noob and need to understand all things bout this router such as the Qos,Dual-band(how to utilize n so on),guest network setup and extc.
*
Can buy other router and use existing TM router as an AP vice versa.

There is nothing you can do with dead spot or dead zone. A high end router would end the same result. Because i tried with my Asus AC68U. In the end i still have to install additional AP to get rid of the dead zone.

Finally got time to do a review of the Asus Blue Cave wireless router.

Great device with really good performance, the coverage and wireless performance significantly better than my RT-AC68U. On the RT-AC68U you would imagine around 100Mbps on 5Ghz after a single wall while the Blue Cave is still comfortably pushing close to 300Mbps.

Of course, it comes with the full suit of AsusWRT features and a recent update added AiMesh compatibility. You have to update all your Asus routers to the latest firmware for that.

Intel is not fooling around when they say they are making wireless chipset as the Blue Cave is powered by Intel. Everything is top notch and I think it worths the price and certainly a big upgrade.

WAN to LAN throughput is tested to be Gigabit capable (~900 after overhead) so it is certainly Unifi Turbo 800Mbps compatible. smile.gif

IP Camera can easily saturate a typical wireless connection and he got 8 of them. Not to mention that IP camera runs on 2.4Ghz only.  sad.gif

Range extender is only going to make things worst. Get another access point and hope for the best.

Consider mesh solution.

Hi bro, im thinking to get another router to do mesh. Blue Cave good option? i remember u mentioned the wireless throughput better than ac68u. i like the minimal design.

An easy workaround is to shift the VLAN trunking job to a dedicated Switch instead of the router.

I achieved this with a cheap TP-Link switch. Check out my blog below.
https://www.blacktubi.com/guide/make-any-ro...-work-on-unifi/

Internet will work reliably but some users face issue with HyppTV as it involves multicast and QoS.

Someone found another switch with similar function but I couldn't find the thread.

Bro, with this setup can we use the remaining LAN ports on the smart switch for internet?

Hi firdausbhari,

If you have changes or RMA your original router without replacing the original DDNS with other DDNS, then the original DDNS will bind with the original router.

And if you want to use back the original DDNS, please provide me the original router serial number and MAC address, I will request HQ to release the DDNS.

Thank you
*
Yes i’ve changed router.

I’ve sent you the details.

Thank you ASUSmy

i just saw this in the store:

AiMesh AC1900 WiFi System (RT-AC67U 2 Pack) - rm10xx.

anyone using these?

how well does 5ghz work for router 1, 2?

assuming:

.. 800 mbps.
.. router 1 (main) grdflr, router 2 wireless upper floor, opposite diagonal 40ft away.
.. assuming devices are common ones with 5ghz - smart tv, tablets, android boxes.

.. what max speed can i expect if device cable connected to router 2?
.. what max wifi speed can i expect at grdflr, upper flr?
.. can i expect good coverage (>200mbps) at all corners with these 2 meshed?
*
i guess it all depends on the connection between 2 nodes. wireless, the results may vary.

Hello.
Referring to the attached summary of my laptop battery status, the current full charge capacity is less than 50% of the design capacity.
My laptop is only 6-month-old.
May I know the warranty procedure since I purchased it from Shopee?
And how old does it take to replace a battery since I need my laptop for work purpose everyday (no spare laptop).
